What went in Dev's favour

Ok I guess for the past few days my task has been to fill in the blanks left open by the CVs. Since my mom asks. How beta. Did you understand how Dev reached Nithya. Now again she asked beta did you understand how Dev won. So many in the forum will also have this doubt Ideally CVs should have shown some scenes which clearly shows the linkage. Since they have not as a person who has watched this show I have come up with my own analysis for this from my understanding of Revenge and story Promise. Hope some things can be clarified.
Ideally in Dev finding Durga is Nithya , before he confront Dr Dayal the photo which fell in front of Dev ulta during the marriage track should have played a part. In other words Dev should have once again broken into Dr Dayal's house in search of evidence and that photo of Dev- Nithya standing together should have come to him. From there the link had to be shown, then confrontation. It would have given clarity to the entire process.
Now coming to Dev winning. Ideally a Devga convo should have been shown where Dev giving the shares to Durga as his friend and asking his friend for her support. This would have ensured Durga has no issue in accepting the shares because friendship is an accepted relationship for her with Dev. Else the question does hang in air why Durga who gave the shares back, accepted it from Dev. Also it would have shown that some convo happened between them on Kangana and then Durga deciding to bring Suchitra to board room. CVs didn't show it. So I am assuming this convo happened because when Dev saw Suchi and Durga his eyes lit up and it was as if he was expecting them.
Now coming to what all went in favour of Dev in the voting process.
1) Sakshi herself undermined their cause when she stopped Bhattacharya and told that they know all figures and facts. They knew Dev has majority shares and he can claim the chairmanship. But he has decided to go for vote of confidence as a true Goenka. Her comments showed Dev as a democratic leader compared to a dictator. He had the power to take the chairman position, but still he was expecting trust from his team.
2) Suchitra took from where Sakshi stopped and told Dev is indeed a true Goenka. She went on to invoke the legacy of Dev's grandfather and father and told that irrespective of win or loss Dev has always stood up to his dad's legacy. Also she asked to vote for change. Maybe people doesn't know how Dev perform but they might know how Arnab was, how the corporation functioned during his time and obviously invoking that legacy would have tilted all people who reminscience the good old days towards Dev. I would say this was master stroke by Durga to bring Suchitra and invoke the legacy part.
3) Dev's speech. He was humble. Told the most important lesson he had learned from his dad is the importance of team work. In other words he implied a leader is as good as his team thus further elevating his status to that of a team player. Youngsters in the board would def want a person who gives freedom of thought than the one who takes all decisions himself.
So old generation would have been tilted by legacy and new generation in the board would have been impressed by his democratic and team player credentials which they saw.
If these 3 were the explicit things that went on the day of vote of confidence I would say Raj failed to read the implicit reading on the wall and the changing needs of big corporation these days. In today's time every corporation wants to have a humane face. We all know how big industries are marketing their CSR intiatives. Whether good or bad the crux of the matter is that corporations want to show case they are giving back to society.
Raj had done an alliance with a politician. There is an " If" to that alliance. If Basu comes to power. Also Raj is giving away his daughter and the fact whether we agree or not patriarchy did run high in board rooms so the chance is more that tomorrow for his daughter's sake the corporation might end up in the politician's hand and board being mere puppets in Basu's hands if he has power.
Whereas Dev is the son-in-law of Dr Dayal Thakur who has a respectable standing in the society as philanthropist. Raj was mentioning to Shaurya that the announcement of his marriage with Durga has increased Share prices. That means Goenka's alliance with Thakur had an impact in market.
With Durga as the board member the need of corporation to have a humane face is also met. Hence they went in favour of Dev.
Again a long winding post. But I guess I filled some gaps left open by CVs. Now a request to CVs. Everyday don't make me write this long winding post. Aapka kaam kar rahi hoon. Kuch tho fayda hona chahiye😆😆😆

Hi. Nice post. I did not watch the episode but got a feel after reading ur update. So true dev is indeed a gem. Raj and Sakshi now have to pay for their atrocity. The cvs also have to connect loose ends in the show. Let's wait and watch.😊

Shrutiravi, I agree with your analysis.I too had similar theories in my head to explain Dev's victory. It was just a bit difficult for me to imagine the board members display the level of confidence in Dev just on the basis on 2 speeches which were full of promise but not backed by a track record or facts.
I guess this was a lapse on the part of the CVs that they did not convincingly show this to the viewers. Usually a lot of horse trading happens behind the scenes but the EHT voting was too clean to make it believable!

We will perhaps see many such gaps in the story telling as they are short of time. Which means more work for you!😊

@bangles horse trading does happen behind scenes. We saw Raj talking to people on Kaka marriage. That's why I said Devga convo was important which they missed. I mean atleast in FB their talk should have been shown on why Suchitra need to come.
But we need to know that legacy does play an important role in family run business and the faith of board members in the family member.
Also the fact is that Dev's alliance with Dr Dayal Thakur was an existing one, while Kaka was proposed one. That is a big ticket one as it was shown that CRP was important for Goenka industries.

I agree Shrutiravi!
I also felt that the initial convo with lawyer, Sakshi and Suchitra cemented it for Dev. Besides his own speech and humble attitude.

Difference of young and old also matters. The Raj side has no promising young leadership to offer.

I assume Thakur also has cleaner image than Basu hence the connection with him mattered more besides the fact that connection with Basu was not final, just announced.

Though frankly nothing works this way the way they showed. They could have made it more convincing.
