"Same is the case with Durga. Nithya has to live. In her life lies the larger good of the society. Payal had to suffer because Nithya had to fight a battle. Nithya cannot take any personal vendetta and tell I will also die killing those. No the larger good wont be served by that."
I don't get this in bold
nithya - i.e. durga now post operation is alive and hopefully remains so but I guess she could die at the end with everyone. that is an option. they all kill each other.
payal has to suffer - she already has, how much more and could you elaborate what you mean by this, and nithya's battle is to get her justice
larger good will be served when shaurya and the goenkas are punished and other girls and people will be saved. hence durga's battle not for herself but her sister and all the other people who did not get justice.
If you were confused by what I meant by durga knowing that she may not come back alive, I meant that durga must have realised her enemies use lots of dirty tricks and the probability of them bumping her off is quite high. they have not yet though.

Justice is important.
Eye for eye quote does not mean you keep taking all shit and never take any action against wrong doers. No levelling etc happens by itself.

But one should use better methods. Had Durga collected proofs, taken Sabrina Lall style path, rallied media and NGOs and former victims against Goenkas then that would be a legit way. This deception, cat fights etc are not correct, neither advisable.

For a just cause revenge is okay. But for unjust cause it is not, for eg, Shaurya raping Payal was his revenge on Nitya for slapping him, which is totally not right.

Revenge for personal satisfaction on someone may be Bad But fighting for Injustice
done to you is Good.

Good or Bad here is not the prime reason that Nitya has come back as Durga.

Durga had to come back because a very Corrupt powerful family literally destroyed her sister Payal's whole life by not only covering up her Rape but made her mentally unstable and manipulated and bribed and threatened the witlessnesses and made a Mockery of the Justice System.

There are too many crimes here by one very Evil Family to gain power over others and
if the Police and other authorities are this easily bought then there has to be someone brave enough to come and teach ALL in this Conspiracy that just because you got away with it, it does not mean you do not have to pay for your Evil Deeds.

So in this show it is more about getting Justice and setting an example for all that just because
you bought your way out of The System you will NOT get away Scot- Free.

And as the old saying goes... Agar Ghee Sidhi Oongli se nahin nikalta ...toh Oongli Thedhi karni parti hai.

@dabhlover I will give answer from MB itself. Why Nithya suffered, Payal suffered. In MB during infamous hall of dice Shakuni bend dharma like anything, while Yudhi and the rest stuck to the theoretical version of dharma.
In Payal rape case Sakshi and Raj played games outside court, while Nithya stuck to the court procedures believing justice will be delivered.
Application matters, theory does not help always.
If you take MB war it is called Dharm Yudh, but if you look at it everything happened there except Dharma. Both sides used deviant methods, infact even Lord Krishna himself use strategy to protect dharma. But the score was settled in a head on fight. Both parties knew what they wanted.
Now coming to Durga. She is playing a game. No one knows her real motive, why she is doing what she is doing. But if she comes out as Nithya the motive becomes clear. Justice for Payal. Justice has to happen in court. If Sakshi plays games outside court , she too has to play games outside court. But verdict inside the court. Both parties should know what each other is doing and the world should also know. That can happen only if Payal rape case comes to court which as of now Durga does not want. As she feels reopening of that case can cause harm to Payal , Dr Dayal , Divya , Dev etc etc..
She feels the method she uses will start and end with her and all her loved one will be saved. Unfortunately things don't work that way. Her way has resulted in Payal getting attacked again, Dev send to jail, Divya is living in an anonymous place. Dr Dayal has risk. Can this continue for long. No right. So even in this path she has a chance she will lose near and dear ones. So why hide and seek. Come out. Play the battle where it should be played and end this hide and seek game once and for all for her own good as well as others. Yaa she might lose someone else other than her parents and she might have to live with that loss. But then she has to face it than run away from reality.

@ the first bold section
*p.s. I know very little about MB so won't comment on that.
Durga is playing games outside of court. The plot has changed the style and the confidence with which she played those games with the Goenkas. Her skills are less sharp than they used to be portrayed.
You assume that Payal's Justice lies in court. What if the writers decide the character of Durga is not going to go to court ultimately to get Justice because they failed her. What if she is going for a different type of justice where the court is not going to be involved but the Goenkas are all going to pay. A bit like law abiding citizen for example.
the reason both sides don't know I think is the following: Durga is buying time by not letting the Goenkas know everything. She needs them to some how self destruct maybe. If the Goenkas know then everything is undone and she loses stealth - very important in a battle if you are alluding to it - especially between adversaries like the Goenkas who use their power and influence to control many key people. Also as a viewer you are hooked, trying to work out the moves Durga will play and the Goenkas will use to counteract. It gets complicated as it progresses even more so when she married Dev.
Regardless of what path she takes, there will always be risks yes, but so far under cover she has managed to save a lot of them and extended the games she has been playing. Dev ended up in Jail because of the attempt on Raima's life.
Durga is not running away from reality at all. She is facing the horrible reality of there being people who commit perjury and deny justice because they are rich and powerful and ruthless enough. It won't be easy but it requires a lot of planning to get to people like the Goenkas. If she uncovers everything, what element of surprise is their left? what upper hand has she got against the ruthless Rajnath, the arrogant Shaurya and the cunning Sakshi? Stealth is a key component of warfare and if Durga is going on war then until she is ready she is going to remain stealthy and so are the Goenkas who are trying to work out (as they don't know Durga is Nithya) who is bringing Payal's case back up.

@Arya if the verdict doesn't happen in court then the morale of the story is bad. It gives the feeling that court is for the rich and powerful.Justice will always be denied if you don't have power. I am not asking her to fight alone. She needs to build allies.
But for the right message to emerge out of the show verdict has to be passed in court telling Shaurya and co guilty of Payal rape case. Only then Payal's honour can be restored in the society.

I agree that if the goenkas are punished in court then the story will return full circle and reach a good ending. It will iterate that no one is above the law. 😊
But sometimes, and I am thinking from a writer's point of view to add interest, it could be that because the law has failed, the person who was failed by the law decides justice has to be taken into their own hand. that being punished by the law is not enough for the crimes the goenkas have committed. this is one that I would not like them to use, but it could be a possibility. it would be interesting though it would send out the wrong message.
Who do you think would be a good ally for her by the way? she has tried with all the people maligned by the goenkas so who is left?
Plus should common society not be standing by Payal anyways?
