What is Dev thinking?

After reading few posts this came to my mind, that if he is hell sure that Nitya and Payal are innocent and they have been wronged then why doesn't he doubt his family? The case was Shaurya vs Payal. So if one thinks Payal is innocent then you automatically doubt Shaurya, right? Then how come Dev is so cool with his family members? What's wrong with him?

Or should I ask why can't he doubt on them?😕

I think he is against them but his mom made him promise to be careful when it comes to his family. He also doesn't want to create tension until he has solid evidence. I think he does doubt Shaury a an Co but can't voice it right now...

I agree with the previous poster. Dev is in the middle of this conflict. He is being told by his mother not to cause tension but his conscience pushes him to find out the truth. He is working with Rajnath on this project and living under the same roof with all of them, so basically in a tough spot no matter how you look at it.

See how he insisted on visiting and then dropping Durga today? He could have just stayed back and let Durga feel mad at his family, taking their side. But he mended fences because he still wants Durga in his life, albeit if for Nitya's sake. He still wants to see Payal too. But he is walking on eggshells, he knows how senstive his mother is, and how annoyed the others would be if they knew he was digging for the facts.

Durga isn't going to admit to him she isn't her, the way she did with Shekhar. Because he isn't someone she can be rid of so easily.

Durga even offered to go home by herself and he was bent on seeing her back safely. I have to think there is more to it than just pure chivalry.

Abray the same question has bugged me too.

Dev is a Momma's boy and gutless wonder to boot.

If there is a case of Rape against Shaurya and all the evidence and witlessness have disappeared or reversed their testimony then WHY does an otherwise smart Dev not put 2 and 2 together and come up with his families name as the answer.

Goenka's are known by all to be the most powerful family that have the police in their pocket ( another thing ...Why has Dev or Suchitra never seen that police officer coming into their house and conspire with Shakshi ) and NOT come to the first conclusion that it is his family that orchestrated the whole cover up.

Dev's not doing anything on his mother's request while he was in the US also irks me to no end. A good friend and one that professed to be in love with one sister sits on his behind for two years is inexcusable and ridiculous.

So to answer your question ... Dev does not think too much...he does what his Momma tells him to do and think.

Dev do doubt's Goenkas trio...that's why he asked Gautham and Sonali to stay away from the payal rape case. And he knows the evilness of other Goenkas...without solid evidence he can't do anything against his family. That's what he is finding right now. Reading cool nature towards Goenkas, it is Dev's nature , he can't express affection, love and anger so easily like Sakshi or shaurya.

Dev is trying to meet Payal to know her side of story to continue his investigation, so that he can reach Nitya and get justice to payal.

I agree to Trina. He is walking on egg shells. If my instincts are right then in the name of family name some more sacrifice is gonna be forced out of him by his mother😉. He is careful about the family name especially when it comes to his father who is no longer there.

That's why he went and apologized to Durga on his own and bought her home because she was his mother's guest.

If this guy needs to be woken up from his slumber some real shocker needs to come his way. I mean more than Nithya and Payal something concerned about his dad. His death or something else.

Till then he will follow the steady path only. Collect evidence before questioning. As Durga said to Goddess she is asking for pain for Dev, she is asking that Dev falls in front of his own eyes. All this has to happen for him before he does something drastic.

Till then Durga's identity should never be revealed to him. He can become a emotional baggage for her.

@Shruti & Trina: I agree what you guys just said. He needs to be steady but he shouldn't blindly trust them. Being calm and over-caring are completely two different things. He cares for Shaurya like anything he can blindly trust on him. He needs to be very cautious while he's with them. But rather than being cautious he's being way too protective for them. He can listen to his mother and show that he cares for his family but that doesn't mean he'll show over-protectiveness. Yes I am saying over-protectiveness because when you have Rajnath, Sakshi and Shaurya as your family then your family don't deserve your care.

@Abray Dev has not yet thought his brother is capable of killing him. That's what missing in him. Also he wants Shaurya to get punished for rape case, but does not want anyone else to kill him.

The call Shaurya gave to Dev was perfectly knowing his nature. Dev believed it because he told even his present location.

I agree. At least he has started meeting people in private, and not in an open shopping mall. Even with solid evidence, he is weakened by the fact that Suchitra does not have the backbone to support him in this matter. She doesn't want to see the family torn apart. Even if it's an illusion. Furthermore, he is going against his cousin, aunt, and uncle armed with the truth. But it is only if he sides with Durga and her father as well as Gautam that he will truly be empowered.

And then he will need to act "normal" towards his family, while secretly laying the trap for Shaurya to be behind bars.

I have broken my fingers typing how much character development and explanation Dev needs!😆

He seems confused to me. He doubts Goenkas but thanks to mom he holds himself back. He is with Durga only for the diary yet he gets flashbacks and nostalgic, connection type feelings when he is with Durga.

I feel he needs a solid jolt to set him in action. Either his father's death and Goenka involvement in it or overhear Shaurya about planning to kill him or talk of his rapist act.

CVs messed up by ignoring details and focusing on love triangle and contrasts between Shaurya and Dev.

Contrast is drawn. We need Dev's background and future line of action now.

For now he is rather naive, careless, confused and slow.
