Understand that from a looks perspective Dev will be sub par with Shaurya, leave looks , in social nicetites, being the centre of attraction, conviction you name anything that attracts a woman to a man Dev will be no where near to Shaurya.
That is the character sketch of Shaurya and Dev. When people say they dont like Dev because of x,y, z reasons its CVs success actually because a girl will normally fall for a guy like Shaurya not for a guy like Dev.
I mean your papa can find you a guy like Dev, but you yourself will never go and hang out with him. I mean he is not the chill type who can sweep a girl of her feet and will never be.
So if a woman like Durga chooses a guy like Dev ofcourse it has to be mismatched and the mis match has to be felt as much as in mythology people tell how the beautiful parvathi chose lord shiva who from looks standard is no where near her. Has a snake on his neck, rides on a bull , dresses like a sage and have demons for company. Is he the suitable groom for the princess Parvathi and that too she did severe penance to get him as her groom.
CVs have applied the mythology of Shiv-Parvathi in the pairing of Dev- Nithya/Durga. So it will be just like that mythology only.
Durga is like a reincarnation of Nithya , the way Parvathi was the reincarnation of Sati.

I don't understand why Dev's looks have to be sub par with Shaurya's looks? Actually most women are attracted to men who are the serious, balanced types...like what the CVS want Dev to be. It is teenagers who are attracted to boys like Shaurya. However, the actor playing Dev and the character of Dev itself have not been convincing enough, hence my preference of Shaurya over Dev.
Women do not fall in love with men like Shaurya, maybe a certain type of woman will find men like Shaurya attractive and so may have "fun" with them, but at the end of the day very few woman want to settle down with a man like Shaurya.
If my father finds a serious, balanced, kind man for me I will gladly go hang out with him. I'm not looking for someone to sweep me off my feet, that is short-term teenage bliss and it is only serious, well-balanced, kind men who can provide long-term bliss.
A woman like Durga choosing a man like Dev is not a mismatch at all, because I know what type of man the CVs want to show Dev as, but the character is very flawed and the actor playing him is very average. I'm not impressed.
I personally don't know much about Parvati and Lord Shiva, but I have seen many shows apply the Shiv-Parvati mythology to their main leads and never has the male lead ever been portrayed like Dev is being portrayed...I don't think Dev can even be compared to Lord Shiva.
Have the CVs themselves said that they have applied the Shiv-Parvati mythology to Dev-Durga?
