I believe there is a reason why they are portraying Dev in such a manner.
The real protagonist and antagonist are Durga and Sakshi.
If They would have put some awesome dashing guy then the audience would demand love romance scene and then the story would slip from its story line. I am really glad they chose dev
This way we have some positivity in Durga's life, a glimmering hope that she so desperately needs.. without which she was on the path of self destruction.
This dev character is a necessity in Durga's life. Its for her weigh .. if Revenge is the right way to go or not. ( I mean please I would have so beaten the crap out of shaurya.. I am not at all in the favor of forgiving) But the point is that , Revenge ... its a full circle. It has no end and this is why they introduced dev for Durga to try to weigh things out.
If she starts having feelings for dev then it will be nearly impossible for her to destroy the goenka clan cause then it will become her family and how far is she willing to go for that?
All these questions were asked by her recently when she had that self talk with Nitya in the mirror. I liked that... the cvs are very clever. We should not underestimate them.
By not giving us some dashing (though I think dev is good looking) chocolate boy lover they did not dimish the charm of Shaurya ( cause lover boy is his style for this show) and they did not diminish the charm of Durga and ofcourse our Sakshi.
They also made suchitra bhabi a normal simple woman. She does not have that it factor like sakshi does. Simple reason.. they did not want her to outshine sakshi.
Right now the focus is on three people
Durga,
Sakshi and
Shaurya
everyone else has to be blah in front of them for htem to shine and thus its just obvious the dev is introduced like some dumbo here. He is just a dumb duck thats why people not finding him attractive. He is not fierce .. cause if he becomes fierce .. durga cannot be fierce and if that happens the show goes to drain.
So I congratulate the cvs on this clever move to solve the '-love' angle with such a nice subtle touch where the people are still focusing and wanting Durga Sakshi Shaurya face off.
No one would want dev durga scenes really ( at least I wont)
Yay :)
