Chick...Can I give u a hug!! 🤗
I wont write much except give u a link for another post that I wrote on Wicca's thread in response to Nith's post.

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4728614&PID=137643733&#p137643733

Please do read it...

I suppose at times we have been on different wavelengths while discussing Sumo...(ok partly becos I guess we are both argumentative..😆😆 but a lot of times...its been about some "bareekiyan" which I felt the script missed while conveying Sumo not the conception of the character Sumo itself) But I do get what u mean to say...just that I am not as forgiving as u are...May I just say U are seeing flashes of brilliance and u buy into it wholeheartedly ( Like how u did with Gul and So Did I) but it takes a lot of heart...😊 I am not like that I guess...I expect the flashes of brilliance to convert into luminescence...maybe I am greedy...😉

@chick, your statement aint no rant but on point observations.
A lot needed proper closure and 2 episodes can by now means compensate this. And yes the PreeKar pregnancy announcement so not needed, stuck out like a sore thumb is an otherwise quite impactful episode (given their limitations).

Given that not much can happen today, will have no expectations. hopefully the last few scenes will recreate some of the initial magic...

Despite all, this show has endeared itself so much that to watch the rubbish that is aired in the name of entertainment is not going to an option and investing so much of emotion into reel is something i dont think i will ever be able to bring myself to do, withdrawals are just so painful.

And ofcourse the best and the absolutely best thing that this show has given is Namik, the most stupendous actor and a wonderful person as well.

I think if that Preekar scene had not been forced at us and Ramnath I would consider this episode quite OK. That was unpardonable for me...they treated the script as if it was child's play.

I am not angry- just stupefied that they'd do that just as they ended. How could they be so careless!

It took away from th eimpact of the scenes I loved in this episode.

Yes, looking forward to tonight. ❤️

Just yesterday I was thinking the same to, Rekha.

You know our tube lights flash around the same time always! 😉 😆

I was wondering what was so different about my viewing after the discussion we had in Sim's post.

It is exactly as you have written.

I buy into the flashes of brilliance, not because it is ENOUGH for me...also because I know where it leads to...Roughly, I'd say. At each and every juncture, even the unexpected turns, I know how the story can be turned back on its track. I wait patiently...It is almost like a game...and I am pleased when it gets there slowly and surely. I know it is tedious and a a waste of time and air time...but when I am greedy to not let go of the leads so quick...well, then I make those little compromises.

Even that little speech Suman had given at the dinner table, I had myself written almost a similar speech for Suman in the first weeks of the show.

Who is Suman aka Sumo?

Also there was this one I came across while searching for the one above- on a promo - a concept I could never let go of.

Do give them both a read. 😳

Chalo...For this part of their journey to be told, there can be a season 2. Can EDKV create one more history for me and make that second season all the more beautiful?

Yes, very well written. I do agree with the fact that the CVs should have kept the track of the story keeping 9 months time in their mind. However, I feel they also had to face some unfortunate circumstances which they had not expected. Nikita was unwell for 20 days and they had to shoot filler episodes. Even in July, they had to shoot 2-3 episodes without her. And we all know, every show has ups and downs. I mean people bash a certain track of the show and the CVs notice the complaint and rectify their mistake. I'm even in this case CVs noticed viewers plight but the unfortunate thing is that they have no chance to rectify.

Yes...Chick...@underlined. and bold..I agree...my words came out to mean that it was enough for U ...sorry, I did not mean it like that..😳...I meant to say that U have a keen script sense which I have always admired...(one of the reasons I don't cross swords with u...😆😆 even if disagree with U 😉) So u do kinda know where those flashes of brilliance will lead to becos u are more attunded to what is possible within the framework of a soap...I get very demanding i guess becos i have my blinkers on...I then behave like a horse just focussed on getting a perspective to shine through...I was like that with IPK which is why I was hugely disappointed that Gul did not make an attempt to tell her story from the mandap scene on...

Even that little speech Suman had given at the dinner table, I had myself written almost a similar speech for Suman in the first weeks of the show.

Chick, just read this post of March 2016...I had missed it becos I may not have been active on the forum. Chick...the foundation of Sumo which was lain so well...lost something in translation

Also there was this one I came across while searching for the one above- on a promo - a concept I could never let go of.

Absolutely beautiful...those were the days...one epi better than the other...I wrote one during the Tom Uncle epi...along the Haq and Rishta myself...What superior story telling...Was all lost due only to ultimatum? can't believe that...

Do give them both a read. 😳

Soup great post. Even I felt the drinking and glass breaking scene should have been preceded with thoughts of Suman. It felt a bit random. What happened next was not, but the scene before lacked continuity.

I agree, the time they had was not bad to tell the story they wanted to tell. But for that EVERY episode had to count, like it did at the start. Up to Preekar marriage this show was so brilliant. NO time was wasted, every minute told the story. Then they got side tracked and the marriage track ran for more than 1 month. THAT was the issue. If it had run for 2 weeks and then Adi drama for 2 more, then we could have got SO much more of ShraMan marriage.

We would have got a proper Ramnath-Shravan separation and reconciliation track as well. It all had to be wrapped in a couples of scenes. I agree Nirmala should have been in this episode. They should have had an episode last Friday, so they could fit ALL that up to Thursday and Friday should have been a PURE ShraMan episode.

Also, Friday should have been a Maha episode with 1 hour devoted to ShraMan patch up and some romance. THAT is the LEAST we deserved and I feel for Namik who loved Shravan as much as we did. He wanted more for him. He WAS him for 8 months, so he was so invested in his emotions. So I get it.

Shravan was just heart wrenching. I would venture as far as to say, he is to now I think my most favorite Indian TV male lead. He was SO layered and so real. I loved him. Will continue to love him. Loved Suman too and loved ShraMan. I am so not ready to say goodbye, but goodbye it is. Or as the French say Au Revoir. Maybe with a hope of meeting again!

Cant end this post without saying. "Namik I love you!" ❤️

P.S : Preekar kid? Like what...? Home boy went straight for the kill! LOL
