I don't think the makers should venture into the physical intimacy thing so soon instead they should be first working on the emotional intimacy that has been circumstantially enshrouded between them of late followed by simple physical contact and so on. For me it is their emotional intimacy (i.e groundwork for their attachment and commitment) that binds them together in a relationship and that is has been the essence of this beautiful show which did not bank on using sexual tension between the protagonists of the show in order to connect with the audience. For people who understand these characters profoundly and not just on the surface level should still find the same chemistry intact between them as before. Intimacy isn't a destination but rather, an experience or set of feelings and ShraMan's journey of finding the optimal mix of emotional and physical intimacy (along with the realization of the fact that communication is an quintessential staple) has just begun.
Guys, thanks for all the wonderful replies π€
And Anu, as usual beautiful take. I totally agree with you about the chemistry part. But exactly what I mean about physical intimacy is the one which stems from expectation. I am totally aware that neither of ShraMan have that frame of mind that they will be comfortable in having any physical intimacy before they resolve the issues between them and atleast come to terms with their mutual affinity. But the issue here is that in a marriage a wife always knows that the "physical" part is something pretty important to the man. Especially with the kind of image Shravan projected by saying that women should only warm a man's bed she is somehow aware of his "supposed" manly expectations. And in that case if he does not try to be intimate with her, it might just send a very wrong signal to her ONLY becuase what happened with her on the wedding day. More than physical its about her psychological awareness and image of herself. But again, here I am talking about a very realistic scenario. These two are a TV couple so CVs might totally dodge this thing. Lets see how it shapes up. I just dont want Suman to feel 'unworthy' in anyway.
Malika, I too do not want Shravan to make Sumo feel "unworthy" or "irrelevant". The CVs might still show Shravan trying to make her feel "unworthy" or "irrelevant" by ignoring her the way Sumo had ignored him during the PP wedding, but I don't expect the physical aspect to come up so soon.I think in yesterday's episode, Shravan made his lack of interest in the marriage quite clear to Suman. That he keeps calling her Suman is another hint for her to know that their relationship has meandered a long distance off course. I feel that Sumo will come into the marriage with a "we have to work on it" mindset. She will be open to physical awareness, but not intimacy right now.About my earlier comment on chemistry, dear, it was not directed at you or triggered by something you had written in your post. There were a lot of other posts and comments on the forum yesterday about chemistry, and I guess that must have been on my mind when I penned these thoughts... Really, really sorry if I offended you...
Sorry may be my wrong thinking but I am afraid thinking what if Shravan misbehaves with sumo during their first night considering today's episode talks π
That can never happen...EVER! Please take his words with a grain of salt these days. He was the one who said women should only warm a man's bed and then he was the one who asked that girl to leave his room and then later beat the hell out of Aditya when he tries to misbehave with Sumo. So when it comes to Sumo, he is a great example of clouds that thunder seldom rain.
