For me the fairy-tale ended when Suman was about to jump off the terrace. That scene sort of indicated that this story is mostly about Shravan and his issues... and Suman will be the one bearing the brunt of it. And for me, that's mostly how the story sort of seems to be going on...

Thank U.

I was actually thinking about this scene too, some time back...

That had been a desperate measure by Sumo...Funny that he could call that and the coffee convo and the midnight hug all acting too...

Anyway, my point was- the fairy tale never ceased to exist for Suman. In spite of repeated disappointments...And that must be because she feels for Shravan with an intensity most of us don't understand.

She is simply willing to give it all, provided he doesn't disrespect her...Fair enough!

Really felt so bad for her in the Ramu death scare- I wanted her to have a guy who'd look out for her- knowing the burden that is on her otherwise too..and here was an additional baby to look after...😆..

But he was not a burden to her- she'd take him whichever way he was...Superwoman! 😉

Shravan is ambitious..he is also very confident- deservedly so.

And his dream had been to start something to help poor people with their cases...Money is not important for him. He'll do that when the time comes.

His assessment of Sumo- Shravan has many times deeply appreciated her dedication to her work..Just that when he goes blind, he likes to coat it as something else...He let Ramnath cloud his judgement.

😆😆..my opinion about men is on same lines as that of Shravan's about women...
and no personal dhokas...and I am not selfish as Shravan, I get offended even by dhokas experienced by others...
🤣
about the social work he wants to do...I hope he starts soon... because at least in India, most of the crimes are against women...😆😆...bechara social work bhi nahi kar payega...😡

It happens with a lot of relationships, not necessarily a romantic one.

I am not talking about betrayal per se, but at one point in time you realise that is all there is to it...that no one would come to save you...least of all the person who was most important to you.
To Shravan, that happened when his mother left. He had not believed his dad at first...he had fought him...but then came the time when he realised she was gone for good. There was no point expecting anything from her anymore. He let go.

Every time Shravan betrays her trust in the goodness in him, I feel this is it for Suman- the last straw. But she keeps hoping again and again. Yesterday, I wondered again if this was the last lap- the point where Suman would say, my fairy tale is over...It had got drenched, dirty, torn..still I had hoped I could salvage it. But today..I know it is BEYOND ME...It is not in my hands anymore...I have to let go, knowing it'd never come back..The fairy tale was never ever meant to be...

When did your fairy tale end wrt this show?😳 I can imagine some stern responses to this, criticising the writers...😆...I mean, within the framework of this show when you lost hope in one of the leads...

After yesterday's episode I could only sigh to myself...When did I stop believing in Shravan? He was so impossible..I knew he'd get down to just this...He needs clinical help (A fact oft repeated by many in the forum)..

But when did I know this guy wouldn't be a knight in shining armour for Suman?

It was nothing that happened between Shraman actually. Or the misogyny or the stubbornness or the attitude.

It had been way back in the Ramnath death scare when I saw how he responded...

I had been shocked and actually felt betrayed that he could be so weak. He was a cripple without Ramnath...That was an instance where they actually got a doctor for him.

It had been a significant insight into his character.

From there on, I stopped looking for a hero in Shravan and saw him as an emotionally unstable kid who'd need a rock beside him.

Sumo would be that rock.

You know what I love most about this show now?

The fact that he has pushed that ROCK AWAY...I am happy for him - genuinely happy.

Because this is where Shravan's growth begins. He i snot a cripple. He will learn to walk on his own and be a rock to Suman when she needs him. She wouldn't have to be a crutch anymore!

👏

For that, I thank the writers! 😳

@Chick - you are an absolute and complete romantic aren't you? Not purely in the sense of being romantically inclined, but in always adding a bright dimension to everything.

In my opinion, Suman never really had a fairy tale to being with. The question is, Will she have a fairy tale ending? She has had a weathered life - struck by one storm after the other. And though she received a shelter, a loving home, the love came in the form of a loan - a debt to be repaid. From the very start, her path has been fettered with stones and road blocks. If Shravan lost his mother, Suman lost both mother and father to the land of no return. Her moods, her reactions, her constant vacillating between Suman and Sumo, are all a product of storms that have ravaged her young life. So, life has not been the kindest to her, there is no fairy tale here that she is well acquainted with.

Shravan, in contrast to Suman, has had it easy. His mothers desertion notwithstanding, he went to London, had a fabulous education, does not have to work his rear off to pay of debts or set up a business, is heir to a successful law practice and has one parent, who despite his faults, will always be there for him, who he can turn to when the world plays foul. If you pay attention, Suman sadly has none of this, and yet, she is a more positive person and always ever so willing to give a person a good chance to explain their stance and ever ready to forgive.

Contrary to many assumptions, Shravan has always lived a fairy tale. And his love also belongs to a fairy tale as does his friendship. Things are black and white. He loves and expects to be loved in return. He is rich and so he expects Suman to accept his help. He rejects anything that does not fit into his neat fairytale. He is like a loan shark or Sherlock, who expects a pound of flesh for anything he gives - rather harsh? But it is true. There is no unwritten rule anywhere that love has to be reciprocated and friends should show their loyalty by yielding to/complying with demands. Suman is not responsible for his wild conjuring. His life is filled with expectations, his LOVE is filled with expectations. He has become bitter because he thinks his life, the fairy tale, has failed him.

Shravan's fairy tale fails him, and ends, EVERYTIME, something or someone does not yield. He is a spoilt rich brat who has not seen a hard life and yet thinks that he bears a huge weight upon his back, who sulks and complains about not having the right pair of shoes when the woman he professes to love is (and has been) barefoot all her life.

Yet, he does have, or had, several redeeming qualities - his consummate, unmitigated devotion and love for Sumo - the one thing - in his life that is pure, unconditional, their friendship (which is like the first snow drop on dry ground). My fairy tale ended when I stopped counting on these qualities to compel me to watch - The minute Shravan shed his old self and turned to someone new, or perhaps even before that.

Sharvan's fairy tale will end one final time (with no avenues open for resurrection), when Suman leaves him - barefoot and with the weight upon his shoulders, and a few people he can call his own on whom he can place his trust.

I am definitely a believer in romance as long as it is reel.😃

I know for sure at the end Shravan will repent for his wrong doings. Suman will repent for hers. Ram will too. So will Nirmala. And all will be hunky dory. This might be a gradual change and more believable if TRPs bless us. Else will be a very abrupt change. Whatever... all will be well in the reel world.

Nothing so great about real life though. It is the 21st century after all 😆 In real life Shravan needs medical treatment, Aditya has to be behind bars. Sumo will get married and move on. Mami just CANNOT get visa for all so fast. And yes - no typhoid for Anuj..😡

EDKV started as a different tale. A capturing one at that. A hero who is bugged with only the FL and that too because of what she did. Otherwise he was charming to one and all. A FL who was independent and was not working for the ML. No man handling and long eye locks. No villains per se..(Mami and Kamini were adorable those days) Ah those good old days.

We all together found meaning and symbolism in every scene. With the help of CVs we started building castles up in the air for Shraman., Pushkar, Nanu, Dabboo,...everybody. Preeta, her husband (forgot his name now) to the letter , the box of memories. 👏⭐️

And then came Ram along striking a deal with Sumo and shockingly she accepted it. So very cliche...

PS: One question which has always been bothering me. Why did the CVs make Dabboo the son of Mama/Mami and not of Mausa/Mausi ?

😲

The last lines, Beagle! 😭

😆 Yeah, I am the eternal romantic in the sense you described.😳
All that you said about Shravan is true, but when it comes to Suman and Suman alone. He is wiling to see the brighter side of everyone else including the chachi he has read so well.So I wouldn't call him a loan shark, except for when it comes to Suman..and that is because as Suman herself has understood, there is nothing she can do to convince him about her sincerity.

The transformation into Naya Shravan- Had simply been a culmination of Shravan for me. So I was not shocked or disgusted.

And I welcome the fact that the very next day after the Bachelor Party, the first thought that occurred was about her...but he let his survival instincts take over.

Making up these theories and convincing the world must come so easily to lawyers! Look how easily Ramnath convinced Shavan with some help from Sumo herself.😆

Sumo's hardships- I'd still say she lived the sweetest fairy tale in Shravan. It had been his possessiveness, his love, his rules of friendship that had kept her going even when he had not been there.

There was the time when she went back and got her memory box and declared that Shravan could never take away the memories that were hers...Poor Sumo! It is going to strike her hard when she realises he has CORRUPTED even those memories...

Sigh..I wonder if that is when the memory box will save Shravan...He would need something to hang on to when his world comes crashing down.

Thank U for the thoughts.😳
