I started writing this to think about the whole thing from Shravan's perspective... but there were so many thoughts and it all got jumbled up... Hope I make sense as to where the story might be headed...
Love... can it exist without self respect and trust? Cant it exist with a little bit of self respect and trust but not at all times? Most often than not, in real life while we value our self respect we do park it in the side for our loved ones. Trust... we trust our loved ones but not always and not at all circumstances. There would always be an exception to the rule. eg. Do we eat Bitter gourd because we love, trust and respect our mom and dad? Or simply not marry someone that they are not ok with but you are head over heals in love with? No right! So end of the day it comes to our choices too. And how that choice affects the person we love and how we would react to that persons reaction.
Love is not simple... in essence it is not just between 2 people but it is between multiple people and it varies with relationships. For Shravan it is not just R or S. It is both! He needs to understand that first, then comes balance.
Coming to Shravan's love... does he love, respect and trust Suman? Definitely yes!! But... here comes the rider... She is a woman, so she cannot be respected for many things, can she be trusted? Yes she can be trusted with some things but definitely not with others. Most often women are trusted in the kitchen but not in finances.. vice versa for men this is our traditional family system. Does not mean one does not love the other... its just that there are areas of love and areas of trust. Most married people would know how this works. It varies with people.
In the current situation Suman is pitted against Ramnath...Shravan instead of choosing both, blindly sides with his dad. That is his condition. Attack my dad and I would give you nothing. He thinks he looses nothing in the bargain.
He does not evaluate the situation because irrespective of his dad being right or wrong whether he knows the truth or not he looses his dad if he changes side! In all this he never really considered what if, he looses Sumo forever! After all, she always comes back to him be it 10 years 10 days or 10 months. And even if it she does not.. he would be safe from the hurt of loving her. Has that not been what he has been running away from recently? Hurt from loving someone other than his dad? But every one has their limits and Shravan crossed that limit with Sumo.
Does that mean he never trust or respect her? No. But when she is pitted against his father, this is her stature. But imagine her pitted against Berry... you know, who gets slapped.
Shravan loves Ramnath to nuts and he loves Sumo to pieces. With Ramnath there is loyalty attached to the love. But with Sumo its that of equals and everything is always at extremes. Shravan does not want to understand or accept the love he feels for Sumo... cause with that love comes the pain. So better to not love at all rather than face the pain.
When Ramnath corners Shravan, he gives in. Ramnath wants to keep Shravan with him with lies and all... Is it so difficult for Shravan to decipher, Oxford grad and all... BUT he decides to go blank.
The question now is what would Shravan do when it finally hits him that he is going to need to face the truth or loose Sumo forever? Ramnath has pushed him and Fate is going to push Shravan back again to choose or not to choose Sumo... will Shravan face the truth? Will he still be able to live without Sumo? What do you think?
Thats all about Shravan, Sumo is a different matter. Rules have changed and her unbreakable trust in Shravan is broken. She would reject him even if he promises her the moon. Because there is no safety with him right now... Lets wait for Sumo to unfold next week...
