It doesn't make any sense from any angle. Nirmala is a different kind of absentee parent whose ego won over her parental/motherly instincts to even have tried to communicate with Shravan, her only child. If she's fibbing about having married Ahuja, there's just no redemption for her. Everything about N looks and sounds stilted! Plus the actress is horrible. In every scene, Nikita overshadows her squarely. She wasn't this bad in IPKEBP when she was sharing screen with a stalwart like Manish Wadhwa.

i disagree a bit with you! i think geetanjali is a great actress and is playing nirmala perfectly! let the story unfold before jumping to any conclusions. i personally found the epi filler as well but they need it to move the story forward

She probably didn't want to keep the Malhotra surname. Ahuja is probably her maiden surname or maybe she has just took on the Ahuja name; after all, she does look after Ahuja's business and his kids...

But her fb update of 'flying to Delhi' makes no sense when she didn't seem to have an account on fb back then...
