Hi Indrani,

What a beautiful episode it was... Poetically revealed.

For me it was all about...their view. He has to remove first his shades to see what happens around and within him. After that he will be the first one to reveal his feelings, but will make sure that her view is cleared(he asks her to remove her goggles).
I somewhere have a feeling that there's a separation track coming up. We have to see whether that is after or before their feelings are revealed to each other. If it is before, she reaches out to him first. Afterwards, he has to do the honours.

Nicely put Indrani. Good to see you.

Hey Prasanthi, Welcome back
How are you now?
Yes, this show has always given us different viewpoints... at times they clash and at times they live happily ever after
It is moving very fast towards the separation... lets see if it happens after or before
Thank you for liking my post🤗

Indrani..I am floored by your writing...The title has me in a daze, the eyes which wanted to see...

Shravan's and Sumo's...(J, ur interpretation is also included in that dazed state😉)

I meant us as well😉

"You can close your eyes to reality but not to memories"...

Special wala line... Loved it😳👏

A very complex man is Shravan but how simple is his love...(that's my interpretation) becos for me love is a simple emotion made complex by human beings...

"The hardest thing is to tell your mind to stop loving someone if your heart still does"

Word.. awesomest line👏

To me this episode was at times a case of MIND OVER MATTER...

Shravan's mind and heart battles...he can't not be happy when Sumo calls him...he super loves attention from her...craves it almost...has to tell himself to stop his fluttering heart.

He tries hard to look nonchalant but fails everytime she moves away from him. All his charade of acting Hoity-toity just goes out of the window. He has to ask her to stay..

The only time he succeeds is when he is not acting nonchalant but when he is deliberately putting distance between him and Sumo...in the last couple of scenes, which I will come to later.

The reason I said this man is complex but his love is simple is becos of the shayari scene...easily the one of the two wonderful scenes of today for me...it explained one facet of Shravan that was a serendipity. I must say having the juxtaposition of the younger Shravan reciting the shaiyari was a fantastic piece of screenplay and direction too...It explained to me the pure love of Shravan for Sumo. He loves her just the way she is...Though I knew this...the scene just shouted it out to me in BOLD...Shravan fell in love with the Sumo the way she was, he loves her the way she is and He will love her the way she will always be. Mad, crazy and laughter ringing thru...He loves her "betuki" baatein...that's what he fell in love with as a sixteen year old. He loves to see her happy and carefree...NAMIK absolutely aced this scene. He had a glazed look on his eyes when he recited the shayari..and when Sumo was laughing...simply marvellous. I have seen a few actors that use eyes rather expressively...this guy is reaching that top notch position very soon...

The Shayari scene..i would like to elaborate on from Sumo's perspective as well becos I guess there appear to be posts which are miffed at Sumo's behaviour. However, to my mind, what was intended to be conveyed was not her making fun of Shravan in the first place, She was not making fun of Shravan...the scene intended incredulity...She can't believe that Shravan can be poetic...so she laughs at that aspect...meaning to say.."Oh come on Shravan...Just like I pulled a fast one on u...u r pulling a fast one on me" Sumo is transparent as a person. I say this with conviction. Her character does not calculate to impress, yes she will do all sorts of Kaands which can get her in trouble. She knows Shravan loves her(thats what she has been saying all along) so ideally she should have been happy/thrilled that he is reciting poetry for her. However, when Shravan recites poetry, Sumo does not see it like that..That's the beauty of this character...She does not see Shravan like that yet. She has not known Shravan to be deeply in love with her and becoming all moony-eyed. That letter in some ways is her only byword of affirmation of his love as a sixteen year old for her. She thinks he loves her like she loves him...simply no fuss...she has fewer cobwebs, she has not realised he is surrounded by cobwebs especially regarding her, she is yet to fathom the depth of his love for her, his inhibitions, his fears and insecurities relating to her.

Both of them are yet to connect the dots. They have peeled off many layers yet they are not adding it up. Interestingly, both of them see themselves in the mirror but, then as I said... the mirror never gives the full picture.. only what is in front of them. They need to stand in front of the same mirror.

The last scene very subtle and open to interpretation and so I will share mine. Largely, it can be expressed as a distancing from Sumo becos of a realisation that he was getting caught in that vortex of old emotions which he has been keeping at bay. The recollection of the past just reaffirmed what his mind had been battling from the time of the dinner date. His heart had won over his mind for a while he was basking in Sumo sunshine.

An interpretation

He is complex,..everytime she moves away he will want to be close...everytime she is close, he will want to go away...becos 1) he cannot believe it to last...or 2)it confuses him

If She had not asked him to apply the ointment, he would have...but since she did...he is scared to hope for more..so he clams up. He feels at home with her when she throws attitude when she is the Sumo he knows. I feel he becomes unsure (for want of a better word) when she is vulnerable. The Khosla case...also gave him a glimpse of a vulnerable Sumo...he did not withdraw then tho but his emotions are a bit more muddled now...

This smile, like the poem and the setting in which it was articulated... a garden embodied an expanse, refusing to be contained in one known paradigm, confined to one season, restricted to one particular moment. It did not belong only to the past, its meaning refused to be enclosed within one climatic change... the ghar' that he spoke of is more to understood than mere four walls. It included and was a part of very nature with all its trials and tribulations. Eternal and unchanging, immutable beyond known human experience, the love flowing and yet constant.

Marvellous...Indrani..👏👏

I would not like to add anything to the paradigms that u have used to explain the setting of these scenes. It is a beautiful piece of writing from the creator and a beautiful piece of explanation from you, a viewer...Stories inspire and u writing is reflective of that..stay inspired and regale us more with your perspectives.

KUDOS TO THE EDKV TEAM...brilliant teamwork..NAMIK AND NIKITA deserve extra applause 👏👏

Thank you Rekha. Its your thoughts which made my ramble look better and definitely read better. 🤗
The team is doing a brilliant work.. and a special word of mention for you know who😉

Hi Indrani🤗,
Feels good to be back, discussing the show.

Did a marathon watch of the last 4 epis...and absolutely loving the direction of the story.

Daboo- adorable cutie...left us with a wonderful thought of how every man looks for his mother in his wife..especially, when that man adores his mother.

Shravan is not an exception to this rule, since he does remember the parts where his mother used to cook, take him to the book store..it is just that these memories currently accentuate his sense of betrayal. But he also looks for more than his mom in Sumo- wonderfully explained by Red in Rekha's post.

That Shayari scene was so wonderfully written...the whole premise, the shades, his compliments, his request that he allowed her to see what would reflect in her eyes...

..A poem written years ago for her..He still wanted to see how she would receive it.

Poor Sumo!Had she known it had been written for her, she would have been spellbound. Instead, she was distracted by this side to Shravan she had never known had existed...a side he had carefully buried under that mask she had started calling his cute bachha- ness.

How endearing to see this Shravan slowly waking up from his hibernation. How confusing it was for him that he could still be affected by her like this!

He had admired her beauty and style...like a passive onlooker.
Sung those lines, swayed by her charm...
Joined in her impishness like a playmate...
And the moment she fell, he could connect with that Shravan of the past he had believed was dead and buried...It was such a rude shock to come out and see for himself that he had been hiding under a mask...So much so, he couldn't gather up enough courage to be near her anymore...

In one moment, everything made sense to him...He fitted right into that picture of a lover Pushkar had described the previous night...What he had brushed off so carelessly...

This was not falling in love, but a rude awakening...That he had never fallen out of love...

What would come after that?

Fear that he would go back to being that old awkward Shravan who could get hurt so easily???

Will he try to resist the sense of abomination those memories bring? Or will he explore them fearlessly?

How proud is Shravan of that teenage boy Suman still sees in him? How easy is it getting back to being himself?

I am loving the way they are penning down Shravan's growth. 👏...Slow...and Steady...❤️

Indrani, thank you so much for this post... I've been yearning to read some deep analysis on yesterday's episode... Whew, the torment in Shravan's eyes has been really something to see! This guy is so conflicted right now that I wish someone was there who could just give him a hug (wish Sumo could be that person 😊)... It's sad really, the only person who he has been rushing to (since his return) in his darkest hours is the one he has to stay away from! Awww... my heart goes out to Shravan...

That ointment scene and Namik's expression was 👏! It was almost like he was scorched, reminded me of his expression when Pushkar told him that the earring belonged to Sumo...
Namik excelled yesterday❤️... his dilemma and his contradictory feelings were portrayed brilliantly. I felt so badly for him... he cant do away his feelings and yet he cant accept it as well. I have yet to see a male character go through these thought process like Namik is embodying in his characterization of Shravan.

Sumo, I'm scared for you girl... I know you have his best intentions at heart, but once again, you;re rushing in too fast and without thinking things through... And this time, the balm will not be that easy to find, baby...
Sumo needs to take a break from this mother-son drama. Let the mother handle it or let it be the son. and can I say this Nirmala needs to move away from using this friend of Shravan. Why give her the coffee table book? You dont want to meet your son but want to rekindle those memories which can only give pain. Sumo is looking at the situation myopically... she should think why in spite of she being termed a special women he cant articulate his feelings for her.
As always, I rambled... but still too shaken up by those eyes Indrani... and today will not be any better... Shravan's brooding eyes in the precap as he sat listening to Sumo on the phone... sigh!

Ramble, digressions, sidenotes are very much needed Anu😉😆
It is the only thing which can bestow meaning in this story of ours. Glad you liked it😳
