Nanu does love her, and stands up for her when the need arises. But still, he's her naanu and as she always tells him," aap nahin samjhenge". For me personally, the ones that I share everything with and knows me inside out are my mom and my sis. And even my closest friends know almost everything about me. So whatever happens, we all have that one person we share everything with and that someone hears us out without ever being judgmental.At times all we need is someone to hear us out.

As far as I can see, there's not a single person in Sumo's like who fits the bill.

Even her bestie Poorna from school and her are no more in frequent contact.

And I believe that makes her bottle up everything from the outside world, and it affects her emotionally.

well no one can fill parents love. Their love is un conditional. And I think sumo didn't open up to him, she never discussed it with him. If she discuss maybe he would have help her.

I think she needs a motherly figure. There is some things we tell only our mother and she didn't have it. And I don't think her massi ever tried to fill it mother figure for sumo. Waise massi have a children kya. I think dabbu is Maami son

And yeah,being the cool dude and maintaining her image and all that was a result of her insecurities at home. She needed to feel wanted ,which she never got. If mami behaves like this to her even now, after her being an earning member of the family, her treatment to a young Sumo is unimaginable. So the acceptance she got at school was something that she could never let go.Her reputation meant the world to her.

And I can't blame her for that.

I don't think Nanaji is fully aware of what Suman goes through because that is something only we know & nobody else can know. He doesn't know the specifics like the fact that Shravan humiliated her or that ShraMan are not friends, but he is very well aware that Suman is hurt. She acts strong with Nanaji but that doesn't mean Nanaji has no idea about how vulnerable she can be or that how much she lacks true love in her life.

Also, this whole 'aap nahin samjhenge' is not because Nanaji won't be able to understand & reason it out, but sometimes even if another person objectively understands our situation, they would never know how much pain we go through because its so personal. So we choose to block out other people's POV under the pretext of 'aap nahin samjhenge'.
