EDT is a finite series then why does trp matter?

Isn't the whole point of a finite series that you show for the x number of episodes it's meant to be and then it's over so yeah even if trp are dropping Sony tv know it will end. To garner trps is this cycle always going to go on forever in Indian serials that the storyline gets butchered?

Even English shows don't work at times but they complete what they had set down to do. Yes it may not get a 2nd season but atleast the first one is done well and proper

I find it hard to believe that this was the story of EDT. That all it will be is Sharanya and Shiv will take revenge from Bedis, Vyom will get punished, Shiv will get his proper farewell and that's it? Haven't we seen this like umpteen times before?!

Like seriously? I just don't get it.

I don't know if there were any changes in the script...Shiv-Sharanya being a couple was hinted on umpteenth times from Sharanya pulling someone's cheeks in her memory, her ability to feel someone holding her hand even when she was in coma, and many other bits and pieces of information and flashback scenes did indicate they were a couple. Vyom was a mystery and it was also clearly shown that Vyom was not giving all away: his conversations with Rajan, his obsessive clingy attitude of hanging on to Sharanya even when she wanted to be left alone, those did show that he wouldn't be a typical nice boyfriend material that he was playing up to. But I honestly thought that because it's so predictable that Vyom is the murderer, the CVs would have something up their sleeves and pleasantly end up really making a thriller. But no, it's a story of a boy and a girl who loved each other and a psycho was their friend and also loved the girl. So he killed the boy. The boy returned as a ghost and he or his girlfriend or both of them avenged his death..we have seen it hundreds of times and we can always find something like this whenever we want to, so this show basically tells and shows nothing new.

I totally agree! I mean to be honest the biggest giveaway is the Karz theme of the show itself...in Karz the person who was killed was the victim...there were several theories out there...personally I felt showing Vyom's dad as the murdered would have been interesting. Like maybe Vyom is a little obsessive but he's just as clueless about Shiv's death; maybe they could have shown Vyom making sure Shiv gets justice and his dad gets punished, Sharanya sees his good side and Shiv's aatma can leave them peacefully.
But this was sk predictable?? Also the entire possession story was hilarious, the flying and making his eyes black wth lol; don't make me laugh.

Silly and cliche plotlines for a show that spent so many episodes building up to an anti-climax.

That's the thing though. If you are making a finite series and u know the start, middle and end then why on earth would you want to show something that has been done a million times over?

I don't think a single person in the audience expected EDT to be a same old psycho, revenge and avenge story. Surely the writers must've known the audience will expect more?

I really thought that While it was obvious abt Shiv and Sharanya, they would never make Vyom the killer as that's too predictable. Infact I thought the best twist would be that no one in the Bedi family is the killer but Sharanya is the culprit! Wudve been much better if they had made her a physcopath!

Is this finite series? How many episodes?
Idont watch EDT but sometimes follow the proceedings on this forum.

SO have they shown Vyom kill Shiv for Sharanya? If this is the case, then its very much predictable storyline. They should have shown someone close to Vyom killed Shiv and Vyom unaware about it. Then Vyom, Sharanya with help of Shiv punish the killer.

Why make Vyom negative psychopath?

@white_Lotus and @urooj I believe namik mentioned in his latest IG post that this series is about 150 episodes strong. So I've no idea what they were thinking. This shocked us not in a good way but in a terrible way, TRP gayi bhar mei if you're gonna show us same old beyhadh kinda show. Many fans left the show so obviously TRPs will be greatly affected. They should have never shown vyom to be too perfect only to turn him too negative. Let me know if there's another good show on another Chanell. I really want to watch EDT for Vikram acting skills as I got to know Vikram through EDT but I can't risk getting my vanya memories ruined for a story that have been on tv a million times.

@ Bold..- He never said that. He said that the EDT unit is about 150 strong. That means around 150 people are there in the EDT team.

A few Twitter responses doesn't contain viewership of the show...this series has a story with major problems...it's not like some dude plotting to wreck a marriage,or female characters shown tooo sanskari,or what will we cook for the guests tmrw, multiple marriage of the same guy/girl, arrogant guy-sweet girl(srsly how many times are we going to watch jab we met!!)
When some fans leave others are added... vyoom was too perfect n now in a negative shade...isn't that a good twist...what if in future what we perceive as negative now...is not negative at all!!! I think story should be given importance not the couples... just cz he did not get the girl doesn't mean his character is unimportant!! Still after all these vyoom loves Saranya...n he is in pain! Try to understand the character... vyoom romanced for 56 episodes...now it's shiv's time...this story was not about vyoom...it's about shiv-saranya-vyoom...
I read the plot of beyhad it's not at all similar...it's like comparing Newtown with that Iranian film which deals with same core problem, but approach is different.edt target that part of audience who approves story not cheesy romantic scenes in slow motion!!

EDT Cvs were always eager forTRP. Sharanya and Vyom's wedding in typical style, the possession drama, putting every blame on Shiv followed by the Old and heavy dialogues, the pati drama and now the change in Vyom. Why does all matters now? Why not before?
