Amazing update as always. I think I hv to keep repeating myself of how amazingly u write. All emotions are taken care of in ur story and are being built up, unlike in the show where viewers need to use their imagination in guessing why certain things are happening and whts next, thanks to a bunch of amateur writers.

Dang it !!!! I wish the writers of this show could take some clues from u on how a story is being written actually. But anyway.....finally the show is ending and with this the nonsense they offer the viewers lately also.

Coming back to ur story.....why is Kabir acting like a weirdo ??? I feel Pooja is more open to her feelings / emotions thn Kabir is. He is just trying to shut out what happened, whereas at least Pooja is willing to talk abt it. But I am waiting for ur next chapter to see what actually is going on with Kabir, coz his behaviour isnt helping at all . And I dont want to see a desperate Pooja, wanting his attention when Kabir acts like an idiot 😆. Pooja is more clear in her thought process thn Kabir. Maybe its time Pooja starts ignoring him completely.....let him deal with it. Becoz although I get Kabir, still his harsh behaviour is almost like a slap....any girl in Poojas situation would feel like tht. The transformation of all those hidden emotions and feelings and desires of both are being taken care of so beautifully.

Waiting for ur next chapter eagerly.

Aaahhh I always love reading your comments! Thank you so much! I really felt something that lacked in the show was proper emotion between JaBir and I wouldve loved to see JaBir having an emotional-type conversation..maybe about Pooja's past...*sighhh* all just dreamss..

And as far as Kabir is concerned..i think you'll have a much clearer understanding of his emotions when we get to the next chapter which I'll be posting in a few minutes <3 :P

I felt bad for pooja too when i was writing it but I also knew why Kabir was behaving that way so i didn't feel that bad🤣 don't worry, next chappy will explain everything and hopefully clarify Kabir's feelings and intentions towards Pooja much more!

Lots of love, girly! <3

Here's part 16!

Part 16

Her lungs were on fire. The air that entered through her gasping mouth didn't seem to be making it into her body. Her legs screamed in pain, begging for mercy...begging for their master to stop running. But if she stopped, she would die. With each hit her bare feet took against the pavement, she could feel fresh blisters forming. A quiet sob escaped her quivering lips. Kill me already, she wanted to scream. Wasn't this worse than dying in itself? This constant torment. This unstoppable cat and mouse chase. It would never end. I'm going to die.

The thought was crippling. There was no possibility of her survival. He would get to her. He always did. And so, she relented to the desperate plea of her limbs and stumbled forward, collapsing into a heap on the ground. Her head was on the ground and she could taste the chalky pavement on her lips. The world was spinning. Perhaps she was already dying. Perhaps she had made her stalker's job all the easier. From behind her, she heard the loud thump of her perpetrator's feet. Kill me, she thought. I can't fight you anymore. His feet moved until they were directly in front of her face. A sinister chuckle escaped him as he bent forward. "You pathetic bitch," he growled, grabbing a fistful of her hair. She cried out in pain as he pulled her forward. His lips were mere inches from hers and his eyes glowed red with fury. She would recognize those eyes anywhere. Dhruv.

He sneered. "Did you really think you could run from me, princess?" From the pocket of his jeans, he pulled out a butcher's knife. It's silver blade seemed to gleam with intent in the moonlit night. Slowly, he ran the blade across her cheek. She closed her eyes, wincing as she felt the droplets of blood color the knife red. He tugged her forward. "I should've killed you when I had the chance," he spewed. His smile widened. "But the fear that I see in your eyes...it's like a drug," he murmured. "I get high off your fear."

He neared her and took her lips within his. She groaned, trying to push him off of her, but he was relentless. His tongue demanded entry into her mouth. She could feel the tears rushing down her cheeks. She had never felt so disgusted or violated. But the fear of the knife on her skin was enough for her to relent. In moments, his tongue met hers and he pushed himself against her. For a few moments, she stopped breathing. She stopped functioning. Upon seeing her frozen, he moved backwards. The smile was still plastered onto his face. He wiped his lips with the sleeve of his shirt.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that to you," he grinned. "That," he added. "Was to show you your worth, you cheap, downgraded bitch." He laughed. "And now, I'll finish the rest of this story. My way." Slowly, he trailed the knife down her cheek and to her neck. "Please," she begged. "Don't do this." But with every word she took he seemed to bring the knife closer to her neck. The tears rolled down her eyes as she sobbed. Her entire body trembled. "No matter where you run," he murmured. "You'll always find me in your path." Saying so, he slid the knife across her throat in one quick motion.

*****

Pooja awoke with a scream. She was shaking and the sweat was pouring out of her body. Her tears were unstoppable. Oh god...Oh god. Her mind was frantic. She was still in the hotel room...exactly where she had fallen asleep after her and Kabir had parted ways. She had had the dream again. And this time it had been so much worse. Her hand flew to her mouth trying to control her erratic sobs. What had that been? She had seen him. His eyes. The madness within them. His intent to kill. The knife. The way he had kissed her. She still felt his lips against hers and it brought a sudden wave of nausea over her. And she had heard him say it again. No matter where you run...you'll always find me in your path. She wanted to scream. She wanted to run so far away that she would no longer be anywhere NEAR her perpetrator. She wanted to curse herself for being so weak that she was so terrified of a mere dream. This hadn't been her. She had once been Jahnvi Mittal. Why was she so frightened? Why was she so unnerved? Because you're not Jahnvi Mittal, her mind responded. You're Pooja Sharma. She hated herself. She hated herself more than she could possibly describe for being so weak. But even now, for some reason, it was scenes from the dream that were replaying in her mind. No. She shook her head. Stop stop STOP. But she couldn't seem to get the memories out of her mind.

And then it struck her. Kabir. That's what she needed. They had slept together the night before and she hadn't had any dreams. For the first time in a very long time, she had SLEPT. Suddenly, she heard Kabir's words echoing in her mind. I want to kiss you so hard that you forget your own damn name. When I'm with you, I want you to forget every single damn thing from your past. And then the way he had kissed her. She needed him again. She needed to feel Kabir to forget Dhruv. She didn't know what kind of insanity she was getting herself into. Perhaps Kabir was becoming her drug. But if it meant a night without nightmares, she was willing to do it.

And so, not bothering to change out of her nightdress, she exited her room and instead pounded on Kabir's door. "Kabir," she called urgently. "Open this door right now." Another pound. It was a few moments before a sleepy-eyed Kabir opened the door. Seeing her tensed expression, he immediately sobered and began to question her. "What's wrong -"

But before he could complete his sentence, Pooja's lips were on his. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pushed him backwards into the room, closing the door behind her. She pressed herself into him as her tongue slid over his lips, demanding entry. Kabir was stunned at her sudden assault. His hands had flown to her waist in an attempt to steady her frantic movements. But he wasn't kissing her back. Pooja growled, biting his bottom lip. "Stop fighting it," she whispered breathlessly. She pulled him towards her and began sucking on the sensitive skin in the crook of his neck. Kabir shuddered and she felt him tense. His hands were on her arm and he began to push her off, but Pooja wasn't having it. "Please," she begged. Her arms wound around him and her hands slid into his hair.

"Pooja," Kabir said, strained. "No." This time, more firmly, he held her arms and pushed her back so that her eyes met his. He shook his head. "We can't," he said. Pooja's eyes grew wider. And for a moment, Kabir saw an urgency in them that he had never seen before. "Why the hell not?!" She cried. "We did it last night! What's the matter with you?!" She sobbed. Her hands flew into her hair and she screamed, frustrated. "Why won't you talk to me?! Was I not good enough for you? Is that it Kabir Mittal?!" The tears were streaming down her eyes. "Or do you think you're just too good for me?!" She spewed. Her eyes were taking on a shade of anger. But Kabir wasn't falling for this. He knew her better than this. Her anger...her frustration. It wasn't just because of his rejection to her advances. There was more to the story.

"Tell me what's wrong." He murmured, stepping forward. Her eyes flashed to his. They were clouded. She was hiding something. "I want to have sex with you. That's it. There's nothing wrong," she lied. He shook his head. "The truth Pooja," he said calmly. "Tell me the truth. Why are you here at 3 in the morning? Can't be just sex." She narrowed her eyes and inched forward. "Who do you think you are, Kabir Mittal? You think you know me?! You think you're qualified to psychoanalyze me?!" She questioned dangerously. "Why can't you accept that I just want to have sex with you?!" He shrugged. "Because, Pooja. That's not the kind of person that you are."

She laughed. "Oh really. I see you have an excellent understanding of who I am," she spat. "Then YOU tell me why I'm here." She demanded. He walked backwards and slouched down onto the bed, crossing his legs. He gazed at her for a moment, reading her eyes. "You're running away." He murmured quietly. She was quiet for an instant before she whispered a confused, "what?"

"You're running away," he repeated. "It's your coping mechanism. You run. From people. From your feelings. You pretend they don't exist. And when you can't pretend anymore, you find excuses and ways to avoid them." He stood and walked towards her. Placing a finger under her chin, he lifted her face so that her eyes met his. "I'm just your distraction," he whispered, sliding a lock of hair behind her ear. Pooja's heart was racing in her chest. She wasn't sure how much of what Kabir had said had been right. Perhaps all of it. But his ability to see so deeply into her was unnerving. Letting out a breath and trying to compose herself, she gazed at him firmly. "And so what if I am?" she murmured. "What if I am running away from something?" She questioned. "The point is that I'm here to have sex with you." She announced. He gave her a small smile and turned away.

"I don't want to just be used by you." He said. He leaned against the wall and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "That's not the kind of person I am, Pooja. I don't want to use you and I don't want you to use me - regardless of what the issue is." He sighed. "That's why I've been upset the entire day. I wasn't angry at you Pooja...nor did I think you weren't good enough." He laughed. "I can't believe you thought THAT was the reason I didn't want to talk about it." He shook his head. "God, Pooja Sharma. I felt GUILTY," he said finally. "Because this is exactly what I did with YOU last night. I USED you. I was upset...about a lot of things...not handling it well...I got drunk and I USED you." He sighed. "And even if it was consensual, I'm still disappointed in myself for what I did. It's not the kind of person I am." His eyes flickered towards her. "And it's certainly not the kind of person you are."

They gazed at each other for a moment. Pooja couldn't recognize the man standing in front of her. For the first time, it felt like this was a man worth respecting. He knew how to handle his emotions. And the one time he had stumbled, he immediately recognized and willingly admitted his mistake. That was more than Pooja could say for herself. Although Pooja had never considered their night together to be a mistake. She let out a short breath and nodded. "I guess that's my cue to leave then," she said quietly. She was embarrassed. Embarrassed of what she had done...how she had essentially mauled Kabir. Embarrassed about asking Kabir to spend another night with her so boldly. Embarrassed about being rejected for it. But deep down, she understood that his reasons had nothing to do with wanting her or not wanting her. They were deeper. He was working through his own problems and he didn't want to involve her in them...not sexually at least. It was logical enough.

She turned around preparing to leave. As she neared the door however, she heard Kabir's hesitant voice behind her. "Wait," he called. She froze. "Would you like to talk about it?" He finally asked. She was silent for a moment and then slowly turned to face him. "Why?" she asked quietly. "Why should I tell you?" He gave her a small smile. "Because I'll listen."

Because I'll listen. This wasn't something she had seen coming. Pooja had never found it easy to talk about her feelings. Kabir was certainly right in that sense. She was the kind of person to run away from feelings. In any situation that remotely induced pain, she would immediately transform into Jahnvi Mittal or avoid the issue entirely. Perhaps that was because nobody had been with her to listen. Kabir wanted to. Kabir was here and he wanted to know. This was new for her. She gazed at him, wondering if he was being serious. "Only if you'll tell me what you were so worried about yesterday. About why you got drunk."

Kabir knew exactly what she was doing. She was scared to open up to him. Opening up to someone meant vulnerability. And Pooja Sharma wasn't one to reveal that side of her to anyone. And so, she was indirectly posing him an offer. If he discussed his worries with her, she would share hers. And so, simply because Kabir wanted to ease her of whatever paranoia was running through the head of the woman in front of him, he replied, "I guess I'd better make some coffee. It's going to be a long night."

END

Aaaahhh I promised you guys a few steamy parts and I hope you were happy with this!!! I also hope the reason for Kabir's moodiness in the previous chapters is a bit clearer now <3 There's a big twist I'm planning for soon that'll rock JaBir's life completely as well :P so wait for that! <3

Lots of love,

Sanjana
