He is a man who is mired in his unhappy past and so blinded by it that he is unable to live in the present or plan for his future. Being an orphan, he was always made to feel unwanted and unwelcome. Yes, his foster father loved him and tried to shelter him from the scathing tongues of his foster uncle and his foster mom but MJ, being the man he is - always thinking of others ahead of himself - must have felt he was being a burden on his father as his father's family life was getting affected because of his presence. Moreover, he never got a mother's love, something he always craved for. He did not have anyone he could call as his own till he married Tara. This could explain his withdrawal into a shell, a shell only little Radha was able to pull him out of till that tragedy struck on November 27, 2012, which changed the course of his life. His reclusive nature also made him skeptical. He could not bring himself to trust anyone, particularly after what happened to his beloved friend.
Radha:
A motherless child whose father spent all his time serving the Shekawat family, must have found a soul mate in MJ. Her extroverted personality was a perfect foil for MJ's introverted personality. From their conversations it appears that they always fought like cat and dog but were inseparable. Maybe the fact that both were motherless was a binding factor. She seems to have developed a huge crush on him although he did not feel anything more than friendship. I think the age difference between them must be at least 10 years or more which makes him very indulgent with her, which she seems to have misunderstood for love.
Tara:
Unlike MJ who was raised in a wealthy family where he was never short for material things although he was deprived of love, Tara was raised in a family with modest means, but there was ample love. Having to shoulder the financial burden after the loss of her father, Tara has grown to be a responsible daughter and sister. The brightest part of this shining star is her optimistic personality and 'never say die' spirit. Nothing or no one can cow down this girl. She is an eternal source of energy to all around her. She is undeterred by problems for she always looks out for solutions for them instead of letting them bog her down. The word impossible does not exist in her dictionary. She converts 'impossible' to 'I'm possible'. She is very sharp, witty and strong. She may be a wisp of a girl but she possesses a lot of physical and mental stamina. She knows how to convert a weapon of destruction into a tool of creation. What is most endearing about this girl is her large heartedness. She loves so unconditionally. She has not only embraced her husband but his entire family, including his childhood friend, whom she thinks is his sweetheart. Again, unlike MJ, this girl believes in living in the moment, in the present and not in the past.
This girl does have her weaknesses. Remember how spiteful she was when she came to know that her 'stranger friend' was her 'inhuman' husband? Goes to show that betrayal is not something she will take lightly. So once Rudra's true face comes to light she will punish him for the betrayal of the Shekawats.
One thing that connects MJ and Tara is their selfless love for each other. Each wants the other's happiness. He was willing to surrender himself to the police so that she reunites with her mother. She is now willing to withdraw herself from his life so that he can reunite with his childhood 'sweetheart'. Little do they realise that their sacrifice is meaningless because their true happiness lies in living with and for each other and not in living without each other.
So where does that leave Radha? Radha will always be a cherished friend and hopefully a well wisher. She is too young for a partner right now. The need of the hour is to find the culprits who violated her and messed up her life. Mriara will fight together to get her justice. Maybe with time they can help find a suitable match for her.
