Another evening of EBI awesomeness!
Following the precap, the episode starts with Tara's mother lighting the aarti, whilst anxiously waiting for the arrival of Tara.
Bunty seems more happy than Nandu, who is probably drowning in self-pity over her sure bad luck of not being The One to get hitched!
Tara and Thakurji reach their new home and she looks up at the beautiful home lit up in front of her. There seems a sense of satisfaction that yes it was worth it, maybe in some small way...but it surely was.
On hearing the car honk, Bunty is the first to rush out to greet her. Then comes Nandu who gives a half-baked hug to Tara.. Tara as usual gets chirpy and asks for the Captain of the House. Her mother walks out only to trip and be held by none other than Tara. Aradhna stares at the mangalsutra around her daughter's neck...this confirms the ritual happened...there stood her tomboy!...a married woman now...and her eyes search for answers from Tara...who is lost in thoughts and has a forlorn look...she remembers...those chained feet, the hands that wound the sacred string of beads around her neck that ironically binds her to a chained man! Aradhna notices something was amiss but couldn't quite catch it.
Tara enters the house and as soon as she is seated, like anyone would do, Bunty wants to know all about their Jijaji. How does he look, what kind of person he was? Nandu stands afar just giving a ear but not becoming a part of the conversation. Yes, jealousy and regret seems to be written all over her face...
Between all of this is Kalavati was busy with her "Kathak riyaz" dance. Very womanly like (she looked her prettiest today) don't kill me yaar for this...lekin there was a kind of innocence on his/her face there...which changed the minute her Man Friday brought news about Tara and her marriage happenings. Kalavati calls Tara a traitor, because eunuchs are usually invited to weddings to bring in good luck. She feels a sense of personal dejection. And makes a promise to herself, that she would go uninvited, never mind if she/he missed the wedding, but Tara's Bidaai was in her hands. Yes she meant Bidaai from this world ofcourse!
The Mother intervenes and then wants to seriously know if Tara is happy with her husband. How does he looks. What could Tara say? She has no answer, so removes the statue of Lord Shiva and shows it to her mom. There is a strange look on Aradhna's face. This is very very symbolic.
I am oblivious to Indian mythology so had to ask friends to shed some light on this. Hope you all know " Mrityunjay" is another name for "Lord Shiva", who is the most powerful of Gods also known as Mahadev and one of the most complex of Hindu deities. Shiva is the dissolving force in life. But Shiva dissolves in order to create, since death is the medium for rebirth into a new life. So the opposites of life and death and creation and destruction both reside in his character. Lord Shiva is the Lord of mercy and compassion. He protects devotees from evil forces such as lust, greed, and anger. (Referral Uncle Goggle)
There is a point where Bunty casually tells Tara, "I know that Jijaji is a "Devta" and all but what if you get a terrible MIL?" To him and his family Jijaji was God-sent who was benevolent and bestowed so much upon them in just one night. This seems symbolic too.
The Bidaai - A beautiful , heart-breaking one! No shor, no sharaba, no music or dance or relatives...nothing...but there was depth, there was sorrow, a genuine separation of a family member...a girl leaving behind everything, whilst reminiscing those happy moments Tara shared with her siblings...Oh my gosh I was all teary-eyed and it got to me...The way Tara just could not let go of her mom, she openly pours out her feelings saying, "Mom I just don't to leave you Mom"...did I hear any bride say that on TV? Naah! Every step that took her away from her loved ones, she turned back for another hug from her mother in whose arms she wanted to seek that final solace, that comfort.
The bride reaches her new home. Now in my previous post I did say Mrityunjay found in Tara a ray of hope. What do I see? The perfect scene behind those dark grey walls...was a ray of beautiful light that touched Mrityunjay's feet and form...I had to pause there...and he drew and sketched those eyes...(ofcourse they are Tara's)...now when did he see her? Did she not return to the mandap after she ran off?
When she ran she had her back to him, but when she returns she was facing him ofcourse...she obviously walks towards him and sit beside him. She might have not looked at him, but he might have had a glimpse of those innocent but fear-filled eyes through that veiled look! Were those eyes a part of his subconscious dreams?
I also noticed the wall that Mj was sitting against had a number of stickers and papers stuck on it. Had to rewind and look. Another sawal? What were they... His deep inner turmoil put on paper?
Curiosity kills the Cat called Tara!
Whilst here, Thakurji wants to have a private talk with his lawyer, Tara can't overcome her inquisitive nature and ventures in the most beautiful "White House" Okay I love love white houses!
Like Alice in Wonderful she wanders around...only to get herself into some big trouble. Now when Tara is around...how can Miss Trouble not be around?
Precap: Oh gosh, was that a practise of the football World Cup winning goal? And all those spectators watching?
hugs
