In Dwarka, Satyabhama & Jambavati are in mourning for the Pandavas (too bad they didn't view the TV along w/ the 2 Vasudevs) as they join Krishna & Vasudev. Krishna asks them why they are crying, and tells them about the inevitability of death one day or another. He also tells them that sometimes, what is true one day may be untrue the next.

Bheeshma is mourning the Pandavas, and finally gets out of his room. Vidura calls him, but Bheeshma ignores him and continues going towards the river. Krishna & Vasudev set off for Hastinapur, and they are greeted by Vidura. Krishna sees Vidura in mourning and asks him why, given that he knows the true status of things. Vidura tells him that Bheeshma has gone to offer oblations to the souls of the Pandavas, and if he did that, harm would befall them. He and Vasudev both beg Krishna to intervene and stop such a disaster from happening.

Bheeshma is about to enter the river when suddenly Krishna appears & stops him. Krishna tells him that the Pandavas are alive, and Bheeshma wants to break this good news to the kingdom. Krishna dissuades him from it telling him that the time ain't right, and tells him all about Duryodhan & Shakuni's plot. Bheeshma resolves to go and punish them, but Krishna tells him that if he does that and blows their cover, then the Pandavas won't be strong enough to confront the Kauravas & their allies. He asks Bheeshma to give the Pandavas the time they need to be strong enough to defeat the Kauravas on their own.

Shakuni encourages Duryodhan to become the yuvraj. Duryodhan tells him that the time is not right, since he'd be suspected if he took the yuvraj crown so soon after the Pandavas' deaths. Shakuni tells him that he's thought about everything thoroughly, and explains that given how sentimental his father is, now was precisely the right time to go and demand it.

Later, Shakuni is w/ Dhritarashtra & Gandhari, and shedding crocodile tears over the Pandavas. He tells them about the importance of doing their shradhs. Bheeshma, Vidura, Krishna & Vasudeva are watching all this. When Shakuni is done, Bheeshma tells him that he needn't worry about that at all.

Comments: So they showed Vasudev accompanying Krishna to Hastinapur, instead of Balarama. Fine, but I wish they didn't just copy BRC as far as Bheeshma going to offer oblations to the Pandavas went, as there is no account of that in the Mahabharata, and therefore, this dramatization wasn't necessary. Instead, they'd have done well to simply have Krishna explain the near term strategy to Vidura, and maybe Bheeshma if needed, but not bother meeting Dhritarashtra or Shakuni at all.

I wonder how true was Krishna's claim that the Pandavas would have been defeated? At that time, Yudhisthir was still the yuvraj, and had the Pandavas started a war against Duryodhan, Bheeshma would normally have been protocol bound to Yudhisthir, rather than Duryodhan, since the former was the yuvraj (It was different after the Pandava exile, since Duryodhan was the yuvraj then), and in such a situation, Drona & Kripa would have been neutral, while Ashwatthama & Karna would have been on Duryodhan's side. Of course, it would have been different had Dhritarashtra asked Bheeshma, Drona & Kripa to intervene on behalf of Duryodhan, and in such a scenario, unless the Pandavas got military support from Krishna & Balarama, they'd indeed have been facing defeat.

Shakuni didn't make sense @ all - Duryodhan did, on the question of the timing of making him the yuvraj. They could have done the 'last rites' for the Pandavas and gone on from there. Incidentally, I hope Bheeshma doesn't expose to Dhritarashtra & Gandhari that the Pandavas are alive, but somehow prevents the Kauravas from doing anything for the Pandavas shradhs.

SB was crying because, this time Krishna didn't show her the tv, it was funny seeing her cry, when Krishna himself didn't had sad expression on his face, she should have understood, when he spend more then a week introducing every character to her & JV.
Among others only Sh's display of grief is standing out.
How Bhishma doing tarpan for Pandava's will affect their future, they are alive, that is the fact. Only Bhishma's tarpan would not have been accepted, that doesn't harm Pandava's destiny in future. Same as Pandavas are alive but others believe that they are dead, doesn't make them actually dead.

Bhishma was sworn to protect the King and Kingdom of Hastinapur. As such he couldn't side with Yuvraaj Yudhishrir as that would mean going against the King. And since Dhritrashta himself would never allow Bhishma to fight against Duryodhan...in this scenario Bhishma would still have not been able to side with the Pandavas.

As much as I hate to say it, before the Varnavrat incident the Pandavas could not have won the war. Not only because they wouldn't have had enough allies yet (e.g Panchaal, Matsya, Magadh - after Jarasandh's death etc) but they didn't have enough of a personal reason. After all that happened with Draupadi, the dice game cheating and humiliation, losing Indraprasta after setting up the city in a barren land...waging a war for these reasons sounds much better than waging it just because you didn't get chosen the Yuvraaj. Even if they went to war on the basis that Duryodhan tried to kill them...they'd have had a hard time proving it and like Vidur said, they'd have never found out the extent to which Duryodhan/Shakuni could go to harming and ruining them.

LOL all this and I hardly watch this show now. 😆 I might pick it up again when Draupadi is introduced.

Welcome back - you've been missed. I think they may intro Draupadi next week - I doubt they'll show Hidimba & Bakasura. Last night just ended the Lakshagriha chapter.

Waging a war b'cos one ain't chosen yuvraj is indeed a hollow reason, but waging a war b'cos of an attempt to kill them is justified enough. Any other ruler, on knowing this, probably would have exiled Duryodhan and expelled Shakuni, and some may even have put Duryodhan to death. Had Dhritarashtra been neutral, Bheeshma's loyalties here would have put him on the side of Yudhisthir, since Duryodhan was comparatively a nobody. But you are right - Dhritarashtra wouldn't have allowed Bheeshma to punish Duryodhan, and so Bheeshma, Drona & Kripa may have been forced to fight the Pandavas.

I think you are right that at this point, even if the Pandavas & Krishna had challenged Hastinapur, their victory was by no means certain, unless Krishna himself took it on him to wipe out the Kauravas. Krishna joining the Pandavas would have meant all his enemies - Jarasandha, Sishupala, Dantavatra, Rukmi et al joining the Kauravas - all that on top of Bheeshma, Drona, Kripa & Ashwatthama.

when is draupadi getting introduced? i shall have to start catching up again, but why is rukmini totally deleted from krishna's life? can they not take another actress, lord K s prime queen, the mother of his heir, and she is never shown.

any idea who draupadi is going to be? she is one of the most important characters, i hope sagars choose wisely.

Unless they have any plans of showing Pradhyumna, Rukmini's role is over. It's a shame the way they went about it, and I also think Priya should have exited much earlier if her body was unable to handle the environment. From this point onwards, there ain't much of a role for her, and besides that, I doubt that they'll show any Krishna stories anymore, although I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I think Draupadi will surface this coming week - don't think they're going to show Hidimba or Bakasura. I'll be quite surprised if they do.

But I do wish they could have done parallel Hastinapur, Indraprastha & Dwarka tracks.

yes but that would have been utopia, i mean all parallel tracks, sagars concentrate more on one track at a time, but if they show parallely everything, dwarakadheesh is going to be a feast for us atleast. Fingers crossed for a hot draupadi, and may she be dusky this time
