Hello Friends...
Thanks to Minakshi for doing Tuesday's update on my behalf, and here I am today with the update...

The episode starts with Duryodhana and Dusashana talking about his fight with Bheema. Duryodhana said that Bheema is saved from Poison but now, he is not going to leave him. Duryodhana and Bheema were getting ready for the fight.

Krishna Ji, Jambavanti and Satyabhama were also watching this.

Bheema and Duryodhana stepped in and started fighting. Duryodhana was fighting in a wrong manner, Arjuna was about to interrupt but Yudhisthira stopped him. Arjuna said that Duryodhana is doing wrong but Yudhisthira said that Bheema is capable of protecting himself. The fight was going on, when Bheem fell down. Duryodhana was about to hit him once again but Drohnacharya stopped him.

Arjuna came forward and helped Bheema to stand up. Drohnacharya came and confronted Duryodhana for behaving like this. He warns him that if he will repeat his mistake in future; then he will not be able to continue his study in Gurukul and leaves.

Krishna Ji said that this is just the beginning of the Mahabharat, the world is going to face.

Back to Pandavas and Kauravas who were standing in front of each other. Duryodhana said to Yudhisthira that tomorrow is a big day for all of them as tomorrow, the future of Hastinapura will be decided, but dont worry, as he will not throw Pandavas out of state and will give them some position there. Kauravas left and Bheema ask Yudhisthira that why he was listening to them? He is crossing his limits and this time, he is not going to leave him. But Yudhisthira stopped him and said that he is just our brother, so just calm down.

On the other hand, Duryodhana said that Pandavas are like small snakes, and they will poison our life and before that they will kill them.

Krishna ji said that the whole universe is changing, these days everyone is running behind power, money and the real value of relationships is lost.

Kunti is praying to Krishna Ji to help them in future, when Shakuni came there and said that she must be worried for her sons, but right now she should concentrate on the thing that she is going to meet her children after so many years. She must be worried about the whole politics. She has lost her father and husband and now, she just has her sons, so se must tell Dhritarashtra to keep away her sons from the whole politics. Shakuni leaves and Kunti is worried.

Satyabhama ask Krishna ji that is their no one in Hastinapura who can protect the whole law and order. Krishna Ji said there is one person, and that is Pitama and Krishna Ji introduced Pitama in the end.

That's it for today.

Just to elaborate slightly - in the mace duel b/w Bhima & Duryodhan, Duryodhan hit Bhima on the thigh, which is what got Arjun restless. That was when Dronacharya intervened and gave Duryodhan a major scolding for hitting below the belt. The thing that surprised me about it was Arjun going and threateningly warning Duryodhan to obey Drona - I thought it would have been a more appropriate role for Ashwatthama.

This serial really likes to insert masala - both the Shakuni taunting Kunti, and Duryodhan taunting the Pandavas. I didn't get why all 5 Pandavas had to be there - if Yudhisthir wants to take Duryodhan's sledging, let him, but why would Arjun have to hear that he'd be made defense minister, or Bhima the gatekeeper, or Yudhisthir the Prime Minister? They introduced Dushashan as well. Incidentally, which of Duryodhan's other brothers were closest to him - anybody?

Another thing - did Kunti have the habit of praying to Krishna, when he was her nephew and touched her feet whenever he met her? As I said above, Shakuni coming to her chamber and taunting her was unseemly. Also, when did Kunti lose her father - Kuntibhoj was alive and in fact fought and died on the Pandava side in the Kurukshetra war. He and his son Purujit sided w/ the Pandavas, unlike Shalya, who was tricked into joining the Kauravas.

Bheeshma looked exactly like Mukesh Khanna's avatar from 20 years ago - no telling them apart - silver crown, silver armor and white clothes. One thing I didn't agree w/ Krishna here - Bheeshma was not the person to whom justice meant everything: Bheeshma was someone to whom his own vows meant everything. Yeah, he was divinely born and all that, but what was fair and just always took a back seat to what the king wanted, although he did freely offer his opinions. Had Bheeshma been someone for whom dharam and nyaya meant everything, his position would have been identical to Vidura's, and in the war, he'd either have been a non-combatant, or fought on the Pandava side.

Thanks for the update Preet😊

This Mahabharat is highly inspired from current tv shows, showing all the elements of Kaliyuga at the end of Dwapar-yuga. Showing Duryodhana hitting Bheema, indicates he was stronger then Bheema. Guru Dronacharya, was not able to discipline Duryodhan till their last day in the gurukul, his warning of throwing him out of Gurukula, doesn't seem effective because they all were returning home the next day.
Bhishma at times took backseat, he was a silent viewer many times, had he really taken dharma's side, he wouldn't have participated in the war. But what krishna is saying now is as per the current situation in the show & what we are analysing is based on what happened in the end, because we know the story. So let's watch this Mahabharat from Krishna's POV, it will be interesting, to know from a true Karma-yogi's POV.

Actually, Satyabhama was asking Krishna whether there was nobody in Hastinapur who would stand up for what's right & just? The correct answer to that was Vidura, not Bheeshma. Moreover, Satyabhama was asking about the future, which Krishna's describing as being closer than it really was.

Anyway, as you point out, Bheeshma would have been neutral (or on the Pandava side) had he been on the side of dharma, but the thing that trumped everything in his case was his loyalty to the throne of Hastinapur. Vidura, otoh, had no such blinders, so Krishna should have told Satyabhama that Vidura was the one destined to be the voice of justice and reason, albeit w/o any enforcement power.

Krishna knew that Vidura was the only one in Hastinapur who had dharam in mind when he made his calls. It's therefore strange to see him hail Bheeshma instead.

Thanks for the update.
And yes, to Bheeshma all that mattered to him was his vow and the hastinapur throne. He did not even stop Draupadi's disrobing. He could have done that. He knew who Karna was but never acknowledged till he was on his arrow death bed.
Vidura was the only one for Dharma. As far as I have read and remebered Krishna always revered Vidura for this. Thats why when he came as a messenger he stayed at Viduras place and not elsewhere.
