I know that that happened with an American show once. The show was cancelled on cwtv and for some reason another channel booked the show where it continued to air, and it still is airing I think. However, I don't think that's possible in the Indian TV industry. Too unfortunate, really.

Seriously what a bummer! It's not even been a day of my obsession and I get the news of it ending! I have been going through such a rough time in my life and this show came as a little bit of happiness and light in my life and it gets snatched away from me like huge bandage being ripped of me.

I have never hated a channel more then SP because at least other channels have given their shows 6 months to a year to try to get some ratings. I really don't get what these people were thinking putting such a show at such a late night time slot. Like where did their brains go during this meeting? This show would have done so great at the 6pm slot time.

I feel so so sad. I only wish we had at least 2-3 months extension if not a time slot change. I feel like that would have been even enough to give justice to this story, actors and us fans.

I know how it is, I discovered this show last week and after a few days of binge watching all the episodes the terrible news came about the show going off air. I was really bummed out about it because I'd spent days trying to catch up only to find out that they're axing the show and that too in less than 3 weeks. Needless to say that I was disappointed. Hindi shows don't always click with me because I don't like the typical saas bahu shows, and after finally finding something that I enjoy I find out that it's going to end.

The time slot is so stupid. I just don't get it. Isn't it a youth based show? Shouldn't they air it a little earlier? Honestly, more promotions and a change of time slot could get DYM back on its feet. Instead, SP decides to call it a failed experiment and are taking it off the air.

Like you, I am bummed out that the only hindi show I currently watch is being axed, and that SP is being a sh*thead towards the fans of the show.

In India, shows cannot change channels, Here, Star Plus is the sole proprietor of this show...not even Swastika Productions.

That's why and how they dictate and interfere constantly. Unfortunately, their reach is wide and deep. more than the other GEC channels which makes them consistently the no 1 channel regardless of what they show. That explains their sheer arrogance and arbitrariness.

I try to avoid watching star plus as much as I can. And, after this experience, Star Plus is a no no for me.

Basically, StarPlus is corrupt. All the more reason to boycott it. And if they stick to their saas bahu shows I'll have no problem doing that!

@pippa SP is mightly, but a channel like colors did show them the place when it was launched. SP had to relaunch itself in 2010 or 11 to get back the audience.
They bought shows like DABH, Veera, Ek Hazaron mein meri behna hai, Ek Ghar banauga, EHT etc.. which were out of the box shows.
But once they got their leadership back with new set of viewers ( I had not watched a SP show after the mess up with Kumkum way back in 2003, only to come back and watch it for DABH) they started the hera-pheri once again.
Their nayi soch went for a toss even in high TRP shows like DABH and Veera and they bought regressive things. Nothing to talk about EHT. Good that it ended. Now they are back to their regressive shows. Most of the early evening shows are regressive MAM, SSL, SNS etc..
Actually colors is giving them competition once again with their issue based shows like udaan and I guess the new show ishq ka rang safed is based on widow remarriage.

@shruthiravi:

Star Plus is a scary juggernaut. I am not a big fan of Colors but I am glad that they are giving Star a run for its money.

No service industry should not get too big for its boots. It will get a boot in no time.

Unfortunately, Star is the only channel, barring maybe Zee, which has the longest and deepest reach in all parts of India. Even if it dishes out crappy and regressive shows, it is sure to get viewers from practically every corner of India. It believes in quantity not quality.

Zee is in trouble too...the one that used to be competition to Star. Now, It too is chopping shows at the drop of a hat.

Colors and the new channel &TV may be the only hope that can challenge Star.

@pippa Zee should buck up. Zee can do it. SP is doing cost cutting by bringing new actors to most their shows than the established ones as leads.
It is time Zee take some good shows with star power. Zee has JR and KB going well. JR is running on star power both Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma having their own star power. And Ek tha Raja Ek thi Rani has brought back Drashti Dhami. Show has a fair opening. And if things go good it can take the slot or atleast push yeh rishta to the bottom.
&TV can't compete with Star in India, but they are doing good against star in UK. But colors is pressing all the right buttons now I would say.
They are persisting with Code Red at 10:30 though it is up only a few numbers compared to Manmarziyaan.
SP has to think through what they want. With new content they can create new audience segment willing to watch the new shows. And why don't they make such content finite like Everest say for 4 months or 6 months. Actually I prefer finite shows running max for a year with good content. I guess many would prefer that. Rather than axing the show the makers can be allowed to run it for the fixed epi. Atleast that wont hurt the audience as the expect the show only for the finite period. But with regressive content it will be the same audience which will not yield result in the long run as the new segment will not come back to SP.

I have no idea, I wonder who started the petition? I've never done this sort of thing before. Where and how do you send these sort of things? We're running out of time so the sooner SP sees it the better, although I wish there were more signatures.
