Amit's 'shocking' exit from Doli

Amit Sarin, who used to play Chetanyan in Doli Sajake Rakhna, was shown dead in the show recently. Amazingly, the actor was unaware about his last day of shoot.

About this unbelievable happening, Amit tells us, "November 2 ended up being my last day of shooting for the show but it came to me as a surprise when I was told 'today is your last day' as I was not informed about it. But that's how life is. It's ok."
Quizzed about his character's exit, Amit says, "It was decided 6 months back that I am going to die in the show. However, in between, the production house decided to try out different things with my character. Sangeeta Ghosh was introduced for that purpose only."

On what went wrong with his character, he adds, "There was no drama and scope for me I felt. I rescued Anupama which her family never liked. Then we got married which again nobody was happy with. In any show the drama ends when the lead couple gets married. It is true that our chemistry worked well and that is why they focused on that track. But there was nothing left in story. It needed a change so a month back we had a meeting and planned out how my character would exit."

What next for him? "You can say that at present I am chilling out and relaxing. At the same time, I am in talks with two production houses. Both the shows are new and it will be too early to talk about them. May be in a month's time, things will be finalized."

Amit celebrated his birthday on the 20th with co-stars and friends. He played the character of Sahil in Kyunki and Kshitij in Kkusum. In both the shows he used to play a romantic guy. In Doli Sajake as well his character was on similar lines. Barkha Bisht plays the female lead in the show produced by Aroona Irani.

There is never a smoke without a fire. After reading this article I donot think Amit will come back.Is this the way to treat a lead actor.I am disappointed with A.K.Production AND Sahara.

I hope and pray that new shows offered to him will be finalised quickly and we can see him again on Television soon.

I am sad, Amit is not coming back. 😭 😭 He is a very good natured person. He didn't show any anger about his exit from the show. He is right, there was nothing left to show in this show. Only way to extend the show is to enter a new character. I think this is what DSK team is doing. Anyways, we will see him in another show soon. I am sad on one side about his exit, but very happy for him too for doing such a great job as an actor. He is leaving at the time when everyone does not want him to. His acting was superb. He will be remembered for his acting always as he was as Kshitij.

I am still confused what he said in the beginning of the show about his lead role in the show. He never mentioned about his role to be short in the show. And now he is saying, In a month's time everything will be finalized. Maybe they are keeping a secret about this show. When actors are interviewed, they never reveal the secrets or mysteries about the shows. Who knows what's gonna happen.

Oh man...there goes any hope for Amit to come back. Come on, they didn't even let him know that it was his last shoot, the production house should have treated him better, they will regret it when they see their show go down the drain. If I were the writers I think there could be a million more ways for Chaitanya's story to continue...he and Anu could have started a new life somewhere else. Just because Anu and Chaitanya got married so fast to me doesn't matter, a lot of serials perfectly run on married couples...to name a few....Saat Phere, Dulhan, Ghar Ek Sapna, etc.

Ever since seeing Amit's character die on the show, I had continued watching it for the hope that he will be back, but I guess he is already moving ahead and finding more work. I can't wait to see his new show, but I will always miss his chemistry with Barkha.

I agree with attitude03, that sometimes what is written is not always true. This story is not from the mumbai mirror, or the indian times, but from a different website. Or maybe I'm still hoping for Amit to come back, why else would they not show his dead body. The article talks about that character was going to be killed off like six months ago, that like the beganning of the serial....Doli Saja ke isn't that old.

It means he is not coming back in DSK, and that it is really sad. Can someone tell me which channel shows kyunki ? Without him I don't know how the Doli will survive.

He use to be in Kyunki (Star Plus Channel), but his character I think was either killed off or written off long time ago, before Amit started Doli Saja Ke. I guess we will have to wait for a couple of months for his new show.
