I stand by this.
If the marriage happens then it needs to happen because both Shaurya and Diya want it to happen. Not because one was forced to or was under pressure of some kind.
In fact, the marriage doesn't even need to go through.
Shaurya was angry that Diya was getting married to Sumit because he loves her. But Diya doesn't love him back. In this case, would he want to marry her?
Diya was under pressure by Damini to marry Sumit. But now that Sumit himself has backed, is there a need for Diya to get married at all?
The answer no can apply to both these situations easily. I actually wouldn't mind if the wedding doesn't happen and the attention instead focused on identity.
Diya - creating an independent identity and being recognized by her work and as a person, not a rape victim.
Shaurya - recognizing himself to be a person outside of his father's shadows and learning to express every facet of himself rather than holding everything in.
This is something that I really look forward to happening on the show at some point.
