I'm sorry but I'm going to post another one of my rants. Why is Indian mentality so closed and utterly disgusting when it comes to rape victims?!! 😡

Damini is way out of line with getting her friends putting Diya down in the precap. Is being "untouched" or "pure" so darn important?? Diya got her innocence stolen violently and despicably and now she is being treated like she is not worthy to be a wife. Who in the freaking world cares about nonsense like that and why should it even be a question. For a society where talking about sex is taboo, it's sure given a lot of importance. Why don't men have the same rules and restrictions applying to them

Who makes these stupid @$#%Y rules!!! What right does a person have over another human being, to judge and be rude and crude? Look at Damini, she is utterly rude and disgusting woman and yet she calls Diya "jhootan"! It's like the pot calling the kettle black. Diya is such an inspirational character to women.

Why can't everyone think like Urmi?? Loved how she explained to Shaurya that she was proud of him and that a disgusting crime like rape is committed by a Mother's son.👏 These so called women aren't able to teach their sons any respect and manners yet they have the nerve to look down on Diya!

How in the world is she supposed to move on and live a normal like?!!! I got so mad watching today's episode and the precap. She is an amazing girl with such good values and faithful and honest, yet after a crime was committed against her, she is being shunned!!! I know the PH wants us to see what a victim goes through in real life but let me tell you that as a woman, I feel ashamed, disgusted and utterly saddened by Damini's treatment of Diya. I expected a woman to show more empathy.

I love how the makers showed Diya today, fingers crossed they keep that fire burning. I know this orthodox thinking isn't going to change overnight but it should be changed. Why are girls/women treated like 3rd class citizen in so many countries. Don't people get it, that it's us women make the world. We keep the peace, all these wars going on our world today and none of them are started by women!! Shouldn't this make everyone's thought process change! Even a tiny step will help. Than there are women like Damini and Diya's own mother who make stop and think what is wrong with women!! It's women like them giving the empowerment to crimes against women.

What would Damini have done if Jaadar had gone after Ishaani?? This was ultimately about revenge, so what would she have done!!!! I really hope that after the win, the makers don't change Diya's character. She is not at fault and she should be made to suffer more. I don't want DAK to turn into some saas bahu saga.

I really hope Urmi has thought things through before saying she will get ShaYa married. She very well knows her son and he wants love in his marriage. I guess will have to wait and watch it tomorrow.

On that note, I'm done with my raving and ranting. Thanks for reading my rant.

This is the saddest part of our society. Every rule, diktat, restrictions applies to women and nothing for men.
I feel what is taught to a boy child growing up remains with him. I am not saying he learns just from his family but in India even a Mother has a hand in preaching wrong things to her child.

I have heard of mothers commenting ill about girls who do not dress themselves head to toe, what is her son going to learn😡 You yourself have a filthy mind being a woman and then you are filling your child's brain with all your filth. How is he gonna respect any woman??? Damini belongs to that style of parenting mother. No words for her.. Her language was so so crude. I am sure such languages are spoken but not sure in all societies.

Very well written Namita.
I agree with you. The world may be moving forward but our mentality is still stagnant as it was in the olden days of Ram and Seeta...

Even then Seeta had to give Agni pariksha...that too I think because of a dhobi (please correct me if I'm wrong)

But however much we may want to change this thought process we can't do it unless it's a consorted effort by all...the most important thing is education...an educated population will not think along those lines...

Moreover they slur a woman's name after a rape but what about the man responsible for it? Why doesn't anyone tell him anything...

I know we are fighting a losing battle...some things can never change. But if we all try to create awareness of these things then maybe a time will come when incidents of rape will lessen.

Above all our legal system should take this as a serious offence...

Forget Ishaani, what would Damini do, if Jamdar had hired goons to do this horrific violent act to her? Would she say ' oh! I am now impure, dont come to my house, I wont do Pooja, my husband should find another wife because I am not worthy? Will she do that?
High time every girl should be Todays Diya and question the society, law who are unfair.

Agree Seema and Mehek. As Urmi said, every man who humiliates and violates a woman is another womans son.
It is a primary duty of a mother to teach her son to respect women. Otherwise, she has failed.

Society and law steps in after the action. It will be prone to influence, corruption and bias.

Very well said Namita. It is very frustrating to see Damini's behaviour. From day 1 she has been intimidating Diya and also Urmi. Not only is she commenting on Diya being untouchable but also Urmi for re-marrying Ishaan. An irritating character...
Home is what develops our children...our children tend to learn from the parents. There is a local saying which means "to bend bamboo you need to start in seedling stage". To have a liberal and free thinking adult he needs to nurtured from childhood.

A man to consider a woman equal is a dream in our society but at least to respect them as fellow human being and to consider their feelings is a big achievement ...I would say we are from achieving this wonderful dream...

I posted this on FB and after reading your nice post...I would like to share my post in this thread...hope it is ok.

Few thought I would like to share...

In yesterday episode Urmi said something that I wished the makers had pointed more out, even provoked the viewers...to open op for discussions.

When Dak showed the main lead being gang raped...it provoked and upset many. I like how Dak made you think about...what would you do?
If there is a rape victim, you are sympathetic toward the victim and would do what you can to help...but if your son came home with a women who he want to marry...but who has been gang raped and been in the media...would you take her in with open arms without second thought?

Anyway back to Urmi. She explained to Shaurya that a crime like rape is committed by a Mother's son and that some women are not able to teach their son's to respect women.

Does not matter where in the world you are, the issue is the same. Boys are pampered and girls restricted. In Europe the mix messages make many girl's rebel. As a girl it is hard even to go to a normal birthday party... all the questions...uff... you are even dropped and picked up. Boys they are out all night and no questions are asked.

If you ask a women about their opinion about a white lady. You will hear a lot of condemn. That are what we are learning our sons. The son have white girts for fun, use there own if there is one who has repel...but when it time to marry...he want a pure and untouched girl.

Europe are also the biggest hypocrites. They are the first to point out that we discriminate women...but they can not sell a car unless there is a naked women on top of it. Talking about advertisement. They sees women as objects and some of us women as worthless.

Why are we bringing the same thing into Bollywood movies?
Women - objects.

In TV: Women - victims.

The change happens in the home. You as a mother has to learn your son to respect women. It is the mentality of the women who has to change first.

Question: How come there are so many rape cases in India? Where did mother's go wrong? and what can we do to make sure that the new generation has more respect for women?

Europe/America the abuse and pedophile number is high. The media do not even cover all stories. No one knows how big the problem really is. Only big cases, when something really outrageous happen is covered in the media. In Asia...do we really know how many pedophile there are among us?

I know...not all men are bad and that fathers has a responsibility too...but we have to start somewhere...so lets start with our self first.

My point is...that it is not only in India, Pakistan, Asia...it is all over the world that there is a problem. If we do not talk, discuss...but celebrate it under the rug. Change will never come.

As a mother you have to learn your son to respect women and daughters to have self respect and confidence in them self.
