When I saw second episode of DAK 29th of june. I knew that Shaurya would be a character that will be loved and has the potential to become an icon character. Not because it is well written or has baggage but because of the nuances Kunal give his character. There is something natural, humble, impulsive and mysteries about him. He surprise you!
The episode: I like they showed that after Shaurya tries to get Diya to open the door he went home to research...a nice detail...then he was back next morning all positive. Third morning I just love Kunal's performance. I also liked that they showed Diya was listening to him now. Love the way he said: "Kab tak wait karo and then when he said: "kar do na"...WOW. The way he said those lines was just...WOW.
The last line Shaurya said: "Is se pehle meri halat aur kharab ho lout aao na." Love that part. Like he need HER in his life. It is my guess that Shaurya had to grow up soon and never really had a regular childhood. I think Diya bring out the child in him. Because she was a little immature and childish herself. He does not have to have some mask in front of her...he can be himself. I believe he miss that or not having that will make it difficult for him.
love the way Shaurya was positive, then emotional, then anger and then feeling helpless. Love Kunal's performance when he gave up and the question he asked: " kyu aata hoon main jahan"...was that a question to himself? Before this scene there was really a need for a scene where Shaurya is alone.
I needed a scene where we watch Shaurya struggling and dealing with all what was going on and then the last scene should have been there.
Q: why this rush? Today's episode should have been done in at least two episodes. Lets us enjoy the moments to the fullest. Kunal' dialogue delivery in the whole episode was beyond imagination. I can watch the scenes tons of times just because of his dialogue delivery.
I love when Shaurya said sorry to Diya's father. Trust is very important for Shaurya and not to be able to live up to this, is something Shaurya can not handle. Seem like when he said sorry there was some of his own pain involve.
Those big heavy tears and his big vulnerable eyes when Diya came out...WOW.
Q: Why does Diya not feel connected to her family...but Shaurya? She came out and walked toward Shaurya...had eye contact and then run to him and cry out? How come as a rape victim she run to another man to cry out?
I feel they should have given these scenes at least two episodes and dig more into how she is connecting with Shaurya. What is it Shaurya is saying and doing that is pulling her out from her trauma?
The performances on that moment was mind blowing. Both Kunal and Neha were flawless and I love how Shaurya was holding her, comforting her, but at the same time trying to control his own pain. It was not anger over what happen to her...but pain...Like they both connected with their pain they where feeling.
The best part in today's episode, beside the mind blowing hug scene was Kunal. I will be watching this episode many times, just to watch all the small details, his eyes, expressions, dialogue delivery, voice modulation, the way he stop and take a breath doing a line. Just the way he on the right places in a line stop or put pressure on a word, lick his upper lip and suck his chins in.
