Can u convert an animal into a human being?? Can pigs grow wings and fly like birds??

Changing any person- man or woman -in real life is extremely difficult.. And this show is based on societal problems so it has to reflect the right message- NOT by changing Samrat but by punishing him- SEVERELY!! If his mother hasn't been able to CHANGE him for over 20+ years, how can Urmi?? Such men don't have the intelligence to understand the importance of rishta and pyaar. You can go around crying ur eyes out.. Or lay there bleeding to death and they won't simply CARE! That's Samrat!

AND why should URMI waste her time for a jerk like Samrat? Move on.. Get out of this hell! Take the kid along.. And start a new life.. I don't care if she marries or not but she definitely deserves to be with someone who's FAR better than Samrat and atleast worth being called an "insaan".

With all due respect to the topic maker - I think I see what you are getting at and I hope this sums it up:
Children are not born bad - the way they turn out is a combination of their upbringing and environment. In the case of Samrat or men like Samrat in society - they have been wired over decades of reinforcement or rather no one to slap them on the wrist for their misogynistic thinking and repulsive attitude towards women.
People like that rarely if ever change. Primarily because they fail to comprehend how and why their mentality and behavior is unacceptable. Therefore I am unable to support a story line that shows Samrat changing his behavior and becoming a "good" husband, son and father. In my opinion showing such a track would be glossing over the social issue the show addresses and sending an incorrect message that bad boys can be changed through love - women just have to tough it out till the man realizes what wrong he's been doing.

In the context of the show - I don't think the focus is on reforming Samrat and him going through some catastrophic life changing event where he realizes his misdeeds and turns a new leaf. As far as I can see the show is now inching towards empowering women who are victims of abusive relationships to find their voice and speak out against this brutality or at the very least recognize they do not deserve this sort of treatment and it's completely with in their basic rights as a human to want to live a safe and respectful life.

As for Urmi - it's high time she takes legal action. She's been suffering for years now - she had chances to change her life earlier (when she went to her parent's house after the slapping incident during Holi) but for what ever reasons at the time she didn't take any concrete steps. This time especially after this brutal belt beating - I want to see her take legal action, fight for her son's custody and take him to a city far away from her in laws and parents and make a new life.
I'd like to see her taking aid from non-profits or women's groups that support victims of domestic violence and help them get on their feet. This would be a good social message - there is help out there - find it and take advantage of those resources.

Why Samraat can't change is because guys like him don't change they are so self righteous can't see anyone better than them. They will alway treat the women like they doormats. I rather Urmi gets a new man and move on he can't respect her, love her. I wish they would bring Ishaan back they had chemistry and they both connected better.

Samrat's wife joined a dance class without telling him and instead of just shouting at her and making her cancel the classes (Like most normal indian males might do) ; he arranged for a guy to defile her reputation and made her characterless in front of the family. She brings this out in front of anyone; so what does he do? he goes and gets drunk and comes home; calmly shifts his son to another room; beats up his wife till she is unconscious; then goes to a hotel room ; calls for a prostitute and has sex. Next day goes to office like nothing happened.
SO HOW WOULD YOU REFORM HIM ? I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR SUGGESTIONS THAT IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU ; HOW YOU WOULD CHANGE SAMRAT?

And by the way ; your forgetting we live in India...One incident that happens 20 years back will still be a gossip topic among family and relatives. Can you imagine; if urmi didnt prove her purity; then for the rest of her life; what each person in that house would have said? At every situation ; if someone didnt like urmi; all they had to say was she;s characteeless; what does she know?

Forget husband - wife; relations; etc... Its basic humanity ... I dont talk to my maid the way samrat talks to his wife; its THAT derogatory...

i think science has shown thorugh research psychopaths have a different genetic makeup and different genes than the rest of the population. it is inherently within them to be this way just like it is in them to be a certain height

Well said! Samrat changing will give the message that a wife should be patient and loving even with an abusive husband because one day he is going to realize his mistakes. This guy feels so entitled in each and every relationship of his life- his behaviour towards his brother, his sisters-in-law (both Kanchan and Urmi's sister), that man in his office who does all the hard work, even his mother (who by the way should have gone to jail for dowry charges. I don't know why Urmi even tries loving that woman)- He still does not feel guilty, even before the arrest he does not even care how hurt she is, as a matter of fact, he has never cared a jot about her.
Urmi should not take back her complaint, not for her parents, not for her in-laws, not even for her son.
