I'd like to weigh in on this topic. I'm not trying to offend anyone's sentiments/views so I hope no one takes this personally.
I think there are 2 sides to every situation. It's really easy for us as viewers - to say with surety this or that is the way to go - that's primarily because this isn't affecting us or a loved one directly.
Lets take a step back here - the topic maker wants to see Urmi taking an active role to bring about positive change in Samrat. This thought is nice - who wouldn't want to see "taming of the shrew" - those stories have been done on celluloid and small screen (in different variations and capacities) over time. The only point of difference that I can see between those scenarios and this is - you can only bring about positive change in a person when they are receptive to the positive influence and internalize it. Thats the same thing as bringing someone out of depression - no matter how much you try to show a depressed person the bright side - they will remain depressed until they personally want to see the positive side. It's the same principle here - Samrat is an egoistic, pig-headed, mean spirited person. People like that CAN NOT respond to positive change - they don't acknowledge that their behavior is wrong or inappropriate. To people like that - they think they are the norm and everyone else is either wrong or beneath them. So to get them to change is close to impossible as they think "i'm perfect/i'm right just the way I am - what are u trying to change?!"
So far CVs have shown us some realistic things - men like this do exist, women like Urmi also exist. In my opinion this show could prove ground breaking if they picked up the pace a bit more and show Urmi becoming more assertive (quicker) and making bold decisions and standing by them.
I was terribly disappointed when Samrat was ranting on and on about Urmi being a murderer etc - that was prime opportunity for her raise a voice and say why she did this (which she did eventually to her in laws AFTER Samrat left) but ALSO say - he's so fixated on having a boy - what if i have a girl - then what?!
In order to keep us viewers engrossed - they need to show Urmi becoming much more assertive and calling things out as she sees them and stands up to Samrat - I'm not pleased at how she just went back to him after the baby announcement party. Urmi should realize by now - Samrat is the same brute he always was - nothing has changed. She needs to decide what she wants to do SOON!
