Samrat, in some way personifies Men who are afraid of women or the progress they can achieve. And the only way to feel superior to them, is to suppress them. See, Men can be of different types. Some are the types who are the truest friend to their wife and will support them to become a strong female and wife themselves in their own right. These men will not have ego clashes if their wife outshines them. But, in reality these are rare Men who are actually so comfy under their skin that female empowerment doesn't frighten them. And then they are Men, who are modern in every respect, but the moment a female or their life partner outshines them, they are threatened. So, they are cool as long as their counterpart isn't perceived to be their equals'. And then of course, Men like Samrat - they seem to use women and feel that they are rugs under their feet to be used as they like and are there to please them. I personally feel, these are qualities are so firmly ingrained that Men don't really change their nature'. For that could mean a huge make-over for their egos, which is a near impossibility. Besides, Samrat's mother/parents are actually enabled him to be like this and get away with it. So, whatever marriage Samrat's has will be based on how far Urni is willing to compromise and enable' him as well. In this marriage, I don't see him the one to change.
As for Urmi, my heart still goes away for her. I can see a nave, young girl married to this Man - who is so young, and inexperienced that she gets swayed easily with small things he does or thinks he does. It will take Urmi a long time to wake up- and when she does - it will be one hard and rude awakening. Just thinking about it, makes my heart go out for this poor, inexperienced girl - so many are like her in real life...
