After remaining quiet for close to two years, Sahara One is on the track to regain lost ground. A major shake-up is expected in its programming, with as many as six shows tipped to air on the channel.
Six shows may be hypothetical, but four shows are definitely waiting in the wings. One of them is said to be Fox Television Studios' untitled daily that supposedly features actors Ali Merchant and Dimple Jhangiani.
"The pilot of this untitled daily was shot some time back. Ali Merchant is more or less finalized to play the male lead. This show is set in the backdrop of Bengal. Dimple Jhangiani, too, had auditioned for the same. Hopefully, the show should be approved soon, "said a source.
Ali Merchant remained unavailable for comment. Dimple Jhangiani, though, denied that she's shot such a pilot.
