Chapter 2
I know I am rude sometimes
I know I can't show of like other guys

"S**a yee barihj kooo bhi abhi suru hona tha.." I heard raghu's irritating voice as he stroke the bonnet of the jeep harshly. I just glared at him with irritation. He had problem with each and every single thing, even with the rain. It was rainy season after all. Did he expect to have rain during winter?! Huh!! I just ignored him and lifted my face to the inadvertent shower. I closed my eyes feeling the tiny drops hitting my face and caressing so tenderly. I just loved getting drenched in rain. Trust me the feeling was heavenly beautiful. Back in my home in Kashmir I used to enjoy snowfalls and drizzles. Bad luck I couldn't have snowfall in Mumbai but whenever the rain hit the city, the duty, stinky, scorching city looked mesmerizing, like the rain was washing out each and every ounce of dirt from the city. Gosh.. I miss my hot cup of mixed spice tea. If I had it then! Bad luck, you can't have mixed spice tea in the middle of forest!! I opened my eyes and found raghu looking straight towards me with slight irritating glint in his face. But I didn't know why I felt that. Looking to his silent posture standing motionless in rain I saw some different emotions in his face. specially in his eyes. Though the lines and faucets of his face were hard and full of irritation his eyes seemed so deep and tender somehow.
"Shardi lagane kaa hain kya?!! Chal utaar niche.. Barish rukne tak koi jagah dhoona parega!" He ordered in his annoying tone.
"Tumhe jahan jana hain jao... mujhe koi problem nahin hain. main yahin rahungi!!" I said stubbornly. I preferred to get cold or fever rather than listening to his annoying voice and orders. I knew that guy very well and I didn't want to spoil my monsoon mode.
"Oyee!!! Puch nahin raha hoon. Order de raha hoon." He said making the utterly disgusting face I ever saw.
"Fine!! Aur mujhe nahin maan ni hain tumhari orders. Tumhare ghar ki maid nahin hoon joo baton baton pe tumhara order manooo..." I couldn't even finish the word when a loud bang on the car's bonnet shook me badly. I looked at his hardened face and his eyes were literally burning in immense anger. Keeping his hand on the car's bonnet he was gauzing me with that look. The same look he had while I saw him fighting with those goons.
"CHUP!!" he said in his deep dominating voice and that tone was enough to shut up anyone. I just continued to look towards him with my drooped jaw. I knew that posture of his. Whenever he was so mad, he used to behave like that, so cold and still so damn soul shuddering look. In that state he could reach to any level. Seriously, HE COULD DO ANYTHING... MEANS ANYTHING!
"Last time pooch raha hoon, chalegi kii nahi?!" His cold voice uttered indifferently and moved towards the forest leaving the road. What the?! Was he going to find shelter in those dark bushes? Did he wanted to be the dinner of wild animals and also wanted me to accompany him. HUH!! But then I remembered that the forest was deep but never reported to have wild man eating animals. But still there could be snakes in those bushes. My brain was busy in detecting so many thoughts when suddenly his irritating voice again hit my ear. "Chal rahi hain ki nahii?!!" I was startled for a while and looked back to him. he was standing at the edge of bushes motionlessly twitching his neck slightly towards back. making a face I jumped down from the jeep and stomped on the wet ground angrily spreading the mud on the costly saree. "Ufss!! Sorry ajji!!" I said in mind, "It was not all my fault u know... Ur lovable chintu jii is responsible for that. If he wouldn't make my head so boiled, I might not be ended up spoiling ur costly saree." Blabbering those words in my mind I moved and stood at his side without looking at him. even he didn't look at me and walked straight following his irritating nose!! And I had to follow him!! God!! How worst it could happen. Making an irritated face I followed him keeping at least 5 steps distance between us.
"Eee kachwe(turtle) ki aunty... pair chala.. barish tez hoo rahi hain!!" his irritating voice hit my ear again. "Tumne mujhe aunty kahan??!!" my head literally boiled up even in that chill rain. "Haan kahan!!" with that same rude voice and irritating face, "Kyun aunty nahin too kya nani amma sun ne ka tha?!! Dekh misscall... rayta mat faila.. tuhge maze aa rahe honge aise ghane jungle mein barish mein bhigto huyi. Mere koo ekdum bhi nahin lag rahi hain!!" He said and moved forward in indifference. I squeezed my eyes shut to control the anger and tried to move faster. But in that process, my feet slipped and I fell on the ground. "Ouch!!" a pain full groan escaped from my lips as my right foot fell on a stone. Raghu heard my groan and he moved back. I looked towards him. he was standing there motionless looking towards me. His eyes were slightly wide and lips were slightly parted. At that moment a thunder flashed through the sky and it seemed like a glint of worry flashed in his eyes with that, but it disappeared before that flash. "Lo hoo gaya..." he said with a irritating chuckle, "Eee.. akhein phar phar ke kya dekh rahi hain idhar?!! Pair toot gaya hain kyat era?!! Arey uthh naa!!" he said ordering as usual. How rude!! Couldn't he even offer a little help for the sake of humanity?! Whatever!! From whom I was expecting hospitality?!! Raghunath Naik?!! Not possible even in my weird nightmare. I slowly stood up from the ground and I felt a sharp pain on my let just above my feet. I was sure that somehow I was injured. But I decided to ignore that. Although he was being rude but he was right anyhow that the rain was becoming heavier and we had to fine a shelter soon. Raghu had already started to walk. I followed him silently again. But as I was moving, the sharp pain was increasing with passing time. I bit my lips and suppressed that pain. But it was really getting tough and also his useless bitter blabbers were making the situation worse. "Kahan fass gaya apun.. Mast kha pi raha tha udhar shadi mein.. Pata naii kyun dimag satak gaya aura a gaya iske piche... panauti hain ekdum.. jab bhi raheti hain... kuch naa kuch locha hoo jata hain!!" his each and every voice was reaching my ear. I didn't want to admit but it pinched me. His merciless rough accuses made my eyes moist. My silent tears came out from my eyes. Panauti!!' that's what everyone called me back in my house. Cause they thought that I was the reason for my father's death!! How could I be?!! how could I be the reason for my father's death?!! only my momma... She only understood me. He didn't know, how much that word hit me!! The fresh physical wound and the mental scar, he was digging both in me. "EEE AA RAHI HAIN KII NAHIN!!!" he said loudly and moved back. for my slow movement due to injury made my pace slow and I backed of in such a distance from him. "Antara!!..." his irritating voice suddenly became confused. I looked towards him and to move fast. But my feet couldn't take it anymore. Just after some stumbled step to him, I slipped on the wet mud again and was about to hit the ground.
But at that moment, two strong arms kept hold on my shoulder and back preventing me from falling. "Choro!! Chroo mujhe!!" I tried to shove away raghu's strong arms from mine. But he didn't even care. "Antara.. kya huya tujhe.. tuu aise... larkhara ke kyun chal rahi thi?!!" His voice suddenly seemed worried. "KUch nahin huya mujhe... chorro mujhe jane doo.." I said stubbornly. Why should I tell him. I knew that he would again scold me for getting injured and wasting his precious time, as if I get hurt purposely. I wouldn't tell him!! No way!! I was determined.I was determined. "Kahin tere payar mein kuch... Payar dilha tere.." He immediately bend down to check on my feet. "Kahan naa kuch nahii huya..." I said in loud voice trying to stop him. Ignoring me all the way he caught my feet. I groaned a little as he touched just at the places on wound. "Kya huya?!! Idharhich chot laga kya?!" he asked and tried to lift up the saree from my feet. "Mera payar chorro.." I tried to jerk out my feet from his hold. He just kept his firm grip on it and looked up to me with his silent gaze. I looked down and our gaze met. "CHUP!!" he just said in his usual deep voice. But the way he said, was so dominating that I literally didn't courage to say anything. his concentration again fixed on my leg and I stood there crossing my hands. I was surprised as well as irritated by his sudden concern. He lifted my saree and touched the injured place. I hissed in a painful sensation. "Tere payar se too khoon nikal rahe hain.." he said in low voice but I felt like he was chocking while uttering those words. I didn't know why, I was feeling like that but he seemed worried. But I shoved away the thought. He lifted his eyes above again and that tine his gaze was really a bit angry. "Mooh mein awaz nahin hain kya tere?!! Kahe nahin sakti thi kii tere payar mein chot ayi hain!!" He asked in hard tone. "Kyun bataoon main.." I looked away from his face, "Bata kee kya fayda hota mujhe... mera dard too tum kam nahin kar sakte hoo... upar se mujhi pe chillate, ki mujhe yee chot kyun lagi.. wagera wagera.. jaise maine khood jaan boojhke maine yee chot lagayi hoo..taa ki main tumhe pareshan lar sakoon!!" my voice suddenly chocked, "sab too yahin kahete hain mujhe... jaise har kisii ke dookh aur sari pareshani ki wajah sirf main hoon!!" I felt a small drop escaped from my eyes which got hidden by the heavy pouring of shower upon us. Suddenly the awkward silence rose between us. I didn't dare to look back at him and waited for his outburst of irritation.
Suddenly I felt some his fingers rough but tender caresses on my feet. His touch suddenly made me shake in some strange feeling which I couldn't decipher. My heart leaped for a second. Slowly with a deep breath, I looked down in confusion. The scene widened my eye a bit. I saw raghu, wiping the mud from my wound. I looked towards him with slight amazed eyes. Swiftly, he let out his hanky and tied it around the wound. I stood their dumb, looking at his sudden unusual concern.
Finishing his handy, he clasped his hand together to wipe the mud and looked up to me. When I looked at him, I get confused by his eyes again. They were so deep and difficult to read.. but never saw the thing I saw in them. They were vulnerable! Keeping his gaze intact to me he slowly stood up. Somehow I couldn't move my gaze from his eyes, till he looked away and distracted me. We looked here and there, in confusion and awkwardness.
"Woo... tuu chal payegi?!!" he asked in a bit stumbled voice. I just nodded in yes silently. "Apun ke piche mat raheena haan.. saath sath chalna.. fir se gir gayi too..." he stopped abruptly and scratched his head in confused expression. Giving him a silent gaze I moved my feet forward when I again felt his firm grip on my shoulder. I twitched my head to him in more confusion. Another flash appeared and I saw his eyes so close to mine!
I don't know why, I felt a sudden chill in me at that moment getting so close to him. the chill didn't resist the sudden strange heat I felt at that moment. It was a really indefinable feeling, mixed with anticipation, confusion, insecurity but truly overwhelming in a strange way. Without saying a single word he took my palm in his firm grip. His action widened my eyes again. What was going on his mind?!!! god he was puzzling me more and more with passing seconds. His silent seemed more pinching than his usual blabbers. He moved his feet forward, taking me along with him and supporting me through the stony jungle trails. We moved deep inside the forest where high road's fluorescent light's couldn't reach and only the sudden thunder flashes were only hope.
