She stood there like a statue, motionless and staring blankly at the distant snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas through her bedroom window. The pine trees outside her window, the lawns and roof of her house, the roads and almost everything of Kashmir were covered with snow and looked like heaven. Few kids were playing in the snow-white park opposite to her house, throwing balls of snow at each other and making snow-man. Everybody seemed happy and cheerful except her.
She was an exception as she now didn't find any joy in these things. Her Kashmir and its natural beauty were once very fascinating for her. She was a nature-lover and she used to love the winter season the most as it snowed then. She and her father used to have much fun in playing with the snow and even in clearing the snow from their lawn. But now everything has changed. She became almost lifeless after losing her father but she learnt to live her life once again because of someone. That person became everything for her but once again she became the toy of cruel destiny. She lost him, but perhaps not completely, because his memories and his "pyaar ki nishaani" was with her, in fact, within her. But he had no idea of it.
A single drop of tear escaped Antara's eye. She collapsed on the floor and began crying inconsolably. She remembered each and every detail of Mumbai, his basti and him. Her meeting with Raghu, their hatred and fights, then miraculously their friendship and then their pure love. She had no idea then that with whom she was falling in love with. It became clear to her only before their wedding when Aman told her the truth...the truth that shattered her dreams and her world. Raghu...her Raghu...was the killer of her father. She was completely devastated and without giving Raghu to clear the explanation, she broke her marriage with him. As if this wasn't already enough, Satya began to blackmail her that he would tell her mother about her father's death and also send Raghu to jail if she didn't marry him. Though she hated Raghu, but still she couldn't let him go to jail. She couldn't risk her mother's life either. So, she had to marry Satya in spite of her hating him. But she never allowed Satya to touch her which irritated him and he began to torture her mentally. But she tolerated all these for her mother's sake. But one day all hell broke loose when she came to know that she was pregnant and there was no doubt that it was Raghu's child as she remembered very well the night after their engagement. She managed to hide the truth from everyone but one day Satya came to know of it and he became wild with anger. He ordered her to abort the child but when she refused to do so, he began to torture her physically. She kept quiet but one day she lost her patience and decided to leave for Kashmir with her family. All were against her decision but she refused to listen to anyone and came back to Kashmir. She expected Raghu to stop her but he just behaved as if he didn't know her and tried to avoid her in every possible way. But she didn't care as she told herself that she hated Raghu but didn't know whether it was true or not.
Life changed a lot for Antara in Kashmir. The pain of losing Raghu would always be there in her heart. She didn't realize the depth of the damage she had caused till she met Aman. She unexpectedly met Aman in a market in Kashmir and he told her every details of her father's murder. How Daya Mai was the mastermind behind all these and how she used Raghu in her plan. Aman made Antara realize that Raghu was innocent. He told her that Daya Mai had been sent to jail as her evil deeds got exposed before the police. Satya too had returned to London in frustration. But Antara became more restless after she heard about Raghu from Aman. He told her that after she left him, Raghu was devastated. But when he found out the true evil face of his Bhagwaan, his Mai, he went into deep shock. And now he has become very dangerous. He has become a cold and heartless person who began to dictate the basti people. He didn't do any wrong things but he punished people severely even for a small mistake. Machmach tried many ways to change Raghu but it seems as if he is venting out all his anger and frustration of Daya Mai, Satya, her and his life on the basti people. Hearing this, Antara decided that she would try to bring back Raghu to his senses. She had caused all the damage as he still thinks that she married Satya willingly and now she would rectify the damage. She decided that she would go to Mumbai. When Antara told her family about her decision, her mother forbade her from going. But she remained adamant on her decision and assured her mother that she would return soon after she finishes her work. After much reluctance, finally Antara's mother let her go.
When Antara stepped into Raghu's basti, she felt a shiver in her body. She gazed at the Naik Sadan, the Kalyan Mandap, Arshad's bakery and her balcony and every memory of her and Raghu came hurtling back to her. She stood there for a long time and then suddenly she heard a loud cry and saw that a man was at Raghu's feet, begging for forgiveness.
Antara felt an electric shock when she saw Raghu, all angry young man look. This sight reminded her of her first meeting with Raghu. His fight with Shetty's goons and she being trapped amidst that fight. Today Raghu's expressions were same as that fight. Eyes filled with rage, teeth clenched and whole body trembling with anger. In front of her eyes, Raghu punched that man and shouted in a dangerous voice, "Teri itni himmat...tu mujhse panga lega...Raghu Bhai se...tere ko apun bola tha na ki iss basti mein aage kabhi kadam nahi dene ka...toh phir kyu aaya wapas..bol...kyu aaya...ek baar maar kha ke tere ko sukoon nahi mila kya... lagta hai tere ko maar khane ki bohot ichha hai...aaja teri yeh ichha apun abhi pura kar deta hai." Raghu was about to punch him again but the man got up and ran as fast as he could. Soon he was out of sight.
Antara felt nervous when she saw Raghu so angry. But she decided to talk to him and approached him slowly. Raghu looked up at her and he froze at the spot. His eyes softened and his face became brighter as soon as he saw her. But soon his expressions changed and the cold look reappeared in his eyes. He turned to look away from her and just said,"Antara!"
Antara's eyes were filled with tears. She was used to him calling her "Miss Kaul" and now it seemed for her to be ages to have not heard that special name from him. She somehow composed herself and said, "Raghu...kaise ho tum?" Raghu looked at her coldly and said, "Jaisa bhi hu...tujhe kya?" Antara realized that Raghu had been very hurt because of her and now even though he tried to act normal in front of her, she could detect a touch of sadness and loneliness in his voice. She decided that she wouldn't let him remain like this anymore. She would resolve all the differences today...and how can she let him go.. when she is going to be the mother of his child. Antara tried to sound normal and said, "Raghu..mujhe tumse bohot jaruri baat karni hai...abhi.."
Raghu: Mujhe tujh se koi baat nahi karni...tu jaa yaha se..
Antara: Please Raghu..ek baar meri baat sunn lo..mujhe pata hai ki main ne tumhe bohot dard diya hai...aur yeh sab ek misunderstanding ki wajah se hua hai. Aaj main yeh saari galat fahmi dur karne aayi hu.. Please Raghu...bas ek baar meri baat sunn lo
Raghu: Kaisi galat fahmi? Jo bhi ho... main ne kaha na ki mujhe tujh se koi baat nahi karni
Antara: (crying) Raghu...mera tumse baat karna bohot jaruri hai...tumhe sachhai nahi pata hai...main aaj yeh sachhai tumhe bata ke hi yaha se jaaungi.
Raghu saw her crying and he melted. Even though they broke up and he tried to forget her, he was unable to do so. And even today, he couldn't see tears in her eyes. He raised his hand a bit, unaware, to wipe her tears. But he stopped himself from doing so and tried to look away from her tearful eyes.
Raghu: Chal thik hai...par yaha nahi...Kalyan Mandap mein baat karte hai...Yaha main sab ko apni tragedy bhari kahaani nahi suna sakta.
Antara felt relieved when he agreed to talk to her. She followed him quietly to Kalyan Mandap and stood there facing him.
Raghu: Haa bola ab...kis sachhai ki baat kar rahi thi tu?
Antara: Woh Raghu...mujhe pata hai ki tum mujh se naraz ho..mujhse shayad nafrat bhi karte ho..main ne bohot dard diya hai tumhe...tumhe galat samjha...aur meri wajah se hi aaj tumhari yeh haalat hai.
Raghu: Paheliya mat bujha Antara...sidhe sidhe bol baat kya hai?
Antara: Raghu...who...who mujhe sachhai pata gayi hai..ki tumhe fasaya gaya tha aur inn sab ke peeche Mai thi...tum bekasoor ho..
Raghu was shocked to know that she was aware of the truth. He somehow found his voice and said, "Tere ko yeh sab kisne bataya?"
Antara: Aman ne...mujhe mila tha who Kashmir mein...usi ne mujhe saari sachhai bataya...par agar tum sach jaante the toh mujhe bataya kyu nahi...kyu nahi aaye tum mujhe sachhai bataane, meri galat fahmi ko dur karne...kyu nahi aaye tum Raghu???
Raghu: Teri shaadi ho chuki thi Antara...Saheb se...who bhi teri apni marzi se..tu kisi aur ki ho chuki thi.. toh kya karta main yeh sab tere ko bataa ke? Kya fayda hota??
Antara: Yehi toh misunderstanding hai Raghu..
Raghu: Kya matlab?
Antara: Matlab ki haa...meri shaadi Satya se hui thi...par uss ne mujhe blackmail kiya tha ki agar main ne uss se shaadi nahi ki toh woh meri maa ko papa ke maut ke bare mein bataa dega aur tumhe bhi jail bhejwa dega...issliye mujhe use shaadi karni padi Raghu...meri marzi nahi majboori thi...
Raghu didn't know how to react. His Miss Kaul had been through such hardships and he just kept on misunderstanding her. He was such a jerk. He felt like slapping himself.
Raghu: Mujhe maaf kar de Miss Kaul...main ne tere bare mein bohot galat socha tha...apun bohot sharminda hai...bina asli baat jaane hi main ne tujhe galat samjha...bole toh sorry Miss Kaul...maaf kar de mujhe.
Antara's heart skipped a beat when she heard him calling her "Miss Kaul". She felt immense peace. Her heart flooded with happiness and she smiled looking at him.
Antara: Haa Raghu...ab Satya ka chapter mere life mein hamesha ke liye band ho chuka hai.. Main sirf tumhari hu Raghu...aur hamesha tumhari hi rahungi...tumhe kaise bhool sakti hu main Raghu...kaise tumhe jaane de sakti hu...jab ki tumhari pyaar ki nishaani ab mere paas hai..
Raghu was confused hearing this. He asked her, "Pyaar ki nishaani? Tu kis ke bare mein baat kar rahi hai?"
Antara: Woh main Raghu...
Raghu: Haa bol na...
Antara was blushing. She lowered her eyes and said in a low voice, "Main...woh...Raghu...main pregnant hu...main tumhare bachhe ki maa banne wali hu."
Raghu's eye-balls popped open as if they would come out of his eyes. He was shocked...how could this happen...Miss Kaul bearing his child...how?? Then all of a sudden he remembered their romantic night after their engagement. Now all things became clear to him. A big smile appeared on his face.
Raghu: Kya??? Tu sach keh rahi hai?? Kya sach mein tu...???
Antara: Haa Raghu...yeh sach hai...ab batao main tumhe kaise jaane deti...yeh jann ne ke baad bhi ki...
Raghu didn't let her complete her sentence and hugged her tightly. She too hugged him back. Raghu and Antara both were cherishing the moment. It had seemed to be ages that they were not in each other's arms. They both felt completed in each other's arms.
Slowly Raghu pulled out of the hug and looked at Antara. She saw that his eyes were full of love and concern for her. She felt that her old Raghu was back..her Raghu..her Yeda..
Raghu slowly took her face in his hands and kissed her forehead. He felt divine at her touch. He kissed her cheeks and then slowly he kissed her lips. Antara shivered at the touch of his lips. She too kissed him back with full passion and threw her arms around her neck. As time passed, their kiss became passionate as they both explored each other's mouths, feeling their love and passion. Soon they parted to get oxygen and Antara lowered her eyes, feeling shy. Raghu pulled her close by holding her waist and said, "Apun aaj bohot khush hai Miss Kaul...tu ne bohot badi khushi di mujhe.. tujhse ek baat poochna chahta hu...shaadi manayega apun se??
Antara was shocked but she felt happy. She said shyly, "Haa Raghu."
Raghu: Toh chal abhi..
Antara: Abhi?? Abhi shaadi karenge kya??
Raghu: Abhi nahi toh kab karenge...mujhse aur wait nahi hota Miss Kaul..chal tension mat le..Bappa ki mandir mein hi shaadi mana lenge..
Antara was very happy. She held Raghu's hand and followed him to Bappa's mandir. There Raghu instructed the pandit ji to perform all the rituals. Soon the haavan kund was made ready and all the rituals were performed. Raghu and Antara exchanged garlands and took the pheras. He put sindoor on her maang and put the mangalsutra on her neck. Soon all the rituals were over and Raghu and Antara were married. When Machmach came to know about this, he was overjoyed with happiness that his Bhai and his Yedi behen have patched up and got married. Soon, he organized a big party in the basti to express his happiness in his own style.
Raghu and Antara were FINALLY together. They in all sense became DO DIL EK JAAN. And then they lived blissfully in their own sweet and cute life forever.
