Part VIII RAGHU GOES ROMANTIC!
Raghu sat on his cot staring away morosely. Antara ko kaise main apni dil ki baat bataaun? Aaji bolti hai ki Romantic ho jaaun! Arre! Par romantic hone ka kaise? He scratched his head. In college days he was so involved in studies that he never had any girlfriends. Infact, he had only one crush and she had slapped him for his awesomely written love poem. Dil, Gurda, Kidney...What all he had written! He had even called her an item! But what she had done? She had slapped him. Aur woh poem ka idea bhi mera nahi, Antara ka tha! Par maine bhi yedagiri ki na! Woh poem likhne ke baad Antara ko dikhaana chaahiye tha! Shaayad kuch silly mistakes ki wajah se woh ladki ne reject kiya hoga! He shrugged. Par ab problem woh nahi hai! Problem hai ki Antara ko style se I Love You bolne ka! Par kaise? He scratched his head for while and suddenly he had an idea. Phool! Main Antara ko laal gulaab ka guldastha gift karega! He imagined himself kneeling in front of Antara giving her bouquet and saying I Love you. She blushing and saying yes too. Kaash yeh sach ho jaaye! He smiled happily and walked away.
MISSION PROPOSE ANTARA PLAN NO. 1
It was evening when Raghu marched straight towards Antara's house after coming from office. He rang the bell of the house with a bouquet in his hand. When he sensed someone nearing the door, he raised his hand holding bouquet right in front of his face so that the first thing the person opening the door sees was the bouquet. The door opened and Raghu heard a voice speak, "Kaun?" Ragu frowned. Yeh Aawaaz toh Miss Call ki nahi hai! The bouquet was taken from his hand and his eyes widened as he noticed who has opened the door. There stood Antara's Maami with a smile on her face staring at the bouquet. "Raghu? Tu yahaan? Aur iske saath? Par tujhe kaise pata chala ki aaj mera birthday hai? Haan! Antara ne bataaya hoga, nahi? Aur kitna pyaara guldasta laaya hai tu? Thank you, haan! Aaja andar aajaa! Main abhi cake hi kaat rahi thi! Aaja! Tu bhi khaale!" She caught a shellshocked Raghu's hand and dragged him in. Poor Raghu! Got the bouquet for Antara but Maami took it away. Mission Propose Antara Plan No. 1 : FLOPPED!
MISSION PROPOSE ANTARA PLAN NO. 2
Raghu sighed as he sat on the cot thinking in the morning. Kal ka plan toh flop gaya! Ab kuch naya sochna padega! Par kya karoon? Aisa kya karoon ki Antara mujhse baat karne ke liye haan karde? Suddenly, another idea hit his head and he grinned. Yeh perfect rahega! Shaam ko main Antara ke ghar jaata hoon! He went and got ready for his office.
It was evening when he marched towards Antara's house right after coming from office. He rang the bell and Antara opened it. He smiled at her, "Woh tere liye main kuch laaya hai!" He pulled out his wallets and took out two tickets. Antara took it in confusion, "Chennai Express ki tickets?" Raghu nodded with a smile. Suddenly, Antara brightened, "Main samajh gayi! Aaji ke liye surprise hai, nahi? Par doosra ticket..." She looked at him confusedly while Raghu looked at her with growing dread. Before he could correct her that the tickets were for him and her, Antara continued with a bright smile, "Ab main samjhi! Tumhein Romantic movies pasand nahi haina! Mujhe Aaji ne bataaya tha ki tumhein Action movies hi pasand hai! Isliye tum chaahte ho ki Aaji ke saath main jaaun right? Don't worry Raghu! Main Aaji ke saath yeh movie dekhne jaroor jaaungi!" Raghu looked at her in horror while she smilingly looked at the tickets. Suddenly her eyes widened, "Arre! Ismein toh time aaj shaam ki hai! Mujhe toh abhi ready hona hoga! Raghu tum ek kaam karo! Aaji ko bolna ready hojaaye! Maine unhein lene aaungi! Aur Machmach ko bolna hum dono ko chodne ke liye!" And once again, Antara slammed the door on Raghu's face. Raghu was still in shock over what all had happened! He just walked to his house in daze. Mission Propose Antara Plan No. 2 : FLOPPED!
MISSION PROPOSE ANTARA PLAN NO. 3
Yeh kya ho raha hai mere saath? Raghu fumed in anger as he sat on his terrace that night. Ek toh saala mehnat karke ticket laao aur picture dekhne jaaye Aaji aur Antara! Aur toh aur unko drop karne jaaye Machmach! Yeh kya hai, Bappa? He sat there sadly staring away when he had another idea. Perfect! Ab toh Antara khush jaroor hogi! Aur koi gadbad bhi nahi hogi!
Raghu smiled as he knocked at Antara's door. He had again come from his office directly to her house with a gift in his hand and a plan in his mind. Luckily for him, Antara opened the door with a smile on her face, "Raghu tum? Achcha hua tum hi aagaye! Mujhe tumhein thank you bolna tha! Woh kal ki picture bahut achchi thi! Aaji aur maine bahut enjoy kiya! Aao! Aao! Andar aao!" He walked in the house happily. Chalo kal ki tarah darwaaza toh thopde pe nahi maara! He smiled at her and handed over the parcel in his hand. Her face brightened, "Mere liye?" Raghu wanted to reply sarcastically but controlled himself and nodded. She happily opened the parcel only to see a box of chocolates. She pouted and her face dimmed down. "Arre! Kya hua? Tereko toh chocolate pasand haina?" Antara nodded, "Haan! Par aaj main nahi kha sakti! Aaj mere vrat hai karwa chauth ka!" Raghu's eyes widened, "Par karwa chauth toh shaadi shuda auratein karti hai na?" Antara shook her head, "Kuwaari ladkiyaan bhi karti hai, achche pati ke liye!" Antara omitted the fact that she has been doing this vrat all this years just for him. Raghu gulped. Achcha pati! Hey Bhagwaan! Yeh toh achche ladke ki baat kar rahi hai! Antara, oblivious to Raghu's plight continued, "Haan! Aur Maami ko lagta hai ki yeh mera shaadi ke pehle ka aakhri vrat hoga! Agle saal tak meri shaadi ho jaayegi! Mumma toh mere liye achcha ladka bhi dekh rahi hai Kashmir mein!" Antara again omitted to tell him that she had rejected many guys in hope of winning his heart and she will keep on rejecting them till either he finds a girl or she moves on. Raghu felt his breath leave him. Ladka dekh bhi rahe hain! Raghu was so shocked by this news that he forgot to tell her his feelings and again walked away to his home in daze. It was only at night he realized that Mission Propose Antara Plan No. 3 : FLOPPED!
MISSION PROPOSE ANTARA PLAN NO. 4
Raghu was in quandary right now. Antara seemed to be in good mood, he had a good chance to say his dil ki baat but this time he ruined his own chance stupidly. All he to say was I Love You but because of his shock over her rishte ki baat he missed a good chance. Sab meri galti hai! Achcha khaasa chance chod diya! Toh kya hua agar ladke dekh rahi hai toh? Shaadi toh nahi hui na? Aaji theek bolti hai! Main bhi ek number ka yeda hai! Ab aur kuch sochna padega? Par ab aur kya romantic karoon? Again idea struck his head and again he eagerly walked towards his room.
Next evening, Antara opened her door to a smiling Raghu with a teddy bear in his hand. He showed the teddy bear to her, "Yeh tere liye!" Antara looked at him in confusion, "Mere liye?" Raghu nodded, "Woh mereko laga yeh tere liye perfect hai!" Antara felt her blood boil as she glared at him, "Mere liye perfect hai! Tum kya paagal hogaye ho? Teddy bear bachchon ki cheez hai aur yeh tum mujhe de rahe ho! Tum kya mujhe bachche samajhte ho? Tum toh meri insult kar rahe ho! Jaao main tumse baat nahi karti!" And again the door was slammed on his face. Poor Raghu! Mission Propose Antara Plan No. 4 : FLOPPED!
Raghu again sat on the cot and poured his thoughts over his problem. He had no other idea left in his head now. Ab kya karoon? Ek kaam karta hoon! Antara ko shaant hone deta hoon! Ek do din ke liye use akela chodta hoon! Parso Sunday hai! Sunday ko usse baat karta hoon! Main kaise na kaise Antara ko is Sunday apni dil ki baat bataake-ich rahega! He nodded in determination and walked of to sleep!
