Part IX SOME ROMANTIC MOMENTS!

It was early morning when Raghu stood in his terrace staring at Antara's house. It was Sunday and Raghu was sure that by now Antara's anger must have gone down. Ab bas ek baar Antara dikh jaaye aur main us se baat karoon! He remembered how his Aaji had asked him to get romantic with her and all his plans had gone awry! Bhaad mein gayi Romance, ab toh seedha seedha jaane ka aur baat kar daalne ka! Aur kuch nahi! He waited for Antara to come into the balcony so that he would ask her to give him a chance to speak. But unfortunately Antara did not come at the balcony; she directly exited her house around 8 AM. He looked at her in confusion. Yeh itni subah subah kidhar jaareli hai? He noticed Antara coming towards his house. He gulped. Lagta direct baat karne ka time aa gaya hai! Antara was walking with head facing downwards and hence she did not notice Raghu standing on the terrace. Raghu ran down the stairs and followed Antara. She was talking to his Aaji and giving her a dabba. Raghu remembered that she made poha for him and Aaji every Sunday! He smiled and walked towards her. She turned to walk away and crashed into him. The impact left her falling backwards and he caught her by her waist. Her eyes widened as she noticed him and he felt like he was drowning in her eyes. She stared back at him in a daze.

Aaji cleared her throat and Raghu and Antara came out of their thoughts. Antara looked away uncomfortably adjusting her duppatta nervously while Raghu stared at her lovingly. Antara said bye to Aaji and walked away ignoring Raghu. Raghu smilingly stared at her the whole time she walked away and once she vanished from her view he turned back towards Aaji dazedly. Aaji smiled at him sweetly, "Hogaya dekhke?" Raghu nodded with his smile intact still thinking about Antara. Aaji glared at him and barked, "Toh idhar kya kar raha hai? Jaa uske peeche! Ab tak ILU ILU nahi bola aur idhar kadha mera muh taak raha hai! Meri kasam bhool gaya kya?" Raghu's eyes widened as it clicked to him that Antara had walked away. He looked at Aaji in shock and ran away. Aaji shook her head! Is ladke ka kya hoga, Bappa?

Raghu ran out of the house and noticed Antara walking out of the basti. He followed her and noticed her going towards the bazaar nearby. He followed her and neared her. He called out, "Ae Miss Call!" She turned around in surprise and smiled at him softly. He joined her and they walked along. He smiled at her, "Bazaar mein aa gayi? Tu toh har Sunday mere ghar pe aati hai!" Antara shrugged and looked away not wanting to tell him that the crash they had unnerved her so much that she wanted to avoid him. Raghu spoke up again, "Waise aaj mast lag rahi hai tu!" Antara looked at him in surprise. She dressed the same way she dressed daily! Then what was so special today? She glared at him playfully, "Achcha! Toh roz bekaar dikhti hoon kya?" Raghu gulped and fumbled, "Arre...nahi...main aisa kab bola re...aisi baat nahi hai ...tu samajh..." Suddenly, Antara started laughing and he looked at her in shock. She was teasing him. He wanted to rebuke her but her laughing face left him in a daze and he just stared at her. She noticed his stare and quieted down. They walked for a while when Raghu spoke again, "Woh ... tu ne kuch din pehle bola tha ki tu ne vrat rakha hai aur maami chaahti hai ki tera shaadi jaldi ho!" Antara nodded unsure of what he wanted to talk about. Raghu cleared his throat and spoke up hesitatingly, "Tereko kaisa ladka chaahiye?" Antar looked at him in surprise and then looked down. Main toh tumhein chaahti hoon Raghu! Kya mujhe milega mera Raghu? Raghu nudged her and mumbled, "Bol na! Agar ... meri nazar mein aisa ladka raha toh..." He eagerly listened wanting to check whether he qualified for her future life partner in her eyes. Antara shrugged, "Jo mere ghar waalon ko pasand ho!" Jaise tum, Antara thought. Raghu grinned. Tere ghar waale toh mereko bahut like karte hain. Aur Ishu toh mera fan hi hai! Antara continued, "Jo handsome ho!" Jaise tum, she thought. Raghu straightened his shirt and collar eagerly. Handsome toh main bhi hoon! Antara spoke again, "Jo achcha kamaata ho!" Raghu wanted to jump. Main toh computer engineer hoon! Kamaai ki toh problem hi nahi! Antara spoke up, "Aur kya chaahiye mujhe?" Raghu smiled at her and she smiled back. He spoke again, "Waise tujhe Machmach pasand toh nahi?" Raghu crossed his fingers and wished that she would say no. Please please nahi bol de yaar! Antara's eyes widened.Yeh kya puch liya Raghu? She replied, "Nahi!" Raghu grinned happily. Woh Machmach se pyaar nahi karti! He wanted to dance. Raghu mumbled softly, "Toh koi aur ..." Antara nodded softly and Raghu felt his heart beat stop. Yeh kya hogaya hai? Ise koi aur? Yeh kaise hogaya? "Kaun?", he whispered morosely and she looked at him, "Bataane ki jaroorat hai kya?" He looked at her in surprise. Was she talking about him? Did she mean him? Kahin yeh mereko toh... Antara walked ahead uncomfortable to walk with him after what they discussed. Raghu stood in his place grinning idiotically as he realized that she liked him.

He caught her duppatta and tugged at it.

She turned around. He twisted the duppatta in his hand and pulled it.

She slammed into him and blushed shyly.

She pushed him and walked away.

He let the duppatta slip away from his hand.

He grinned foolishly as she walked away.

She turned to look at him. Seeing his grin, she smiled and turned away.

He looked down sheepishly and then looked up.

Sooni Sooni Si Saare Raahein Ve

She was not there. She had vanished into the crowd.

Tujhko Tarsein Meri Nigaahein Ve

He ran ahead and looked around but she was nowhere to be found.

Mujhko Tujh Mein Fanaa Ho Jaane De

Someone tapped on his shoulder. He turned to see Antara frowning at him, confused to see him so tensed.

Teri Baahon Mein Mujhe Kho Jaane De

He hugged her tightly scared that he had lost her.

Akhiyaan Nu Rehn De

She pulled away and gazed at him. He stared into her face with love in his eyes.

Akhiyaan De Kol Kol

Chan Pardesiya Ve

Bol Paave Na Bol

Akhiyaan Nu Rehn De...

She came out the trance and pushed him away softly with a smile on her face.

Mera Maahi Tu Mera Raanjhan Tu

She ran away from him in the direction of their basti while Raghu grinned happily.
