Chapter 12------Jass does not want Shivani to marry Raghu.Jass and Mahima's eyes became big as saucers. Did they hear correctly?
"Shivani?" Jass tried to ask a question but he was at a loss for words...
Mahima tried,"Shiavni did you just say that you are getting married to Raghu? Raghu our servant?"
"Bahu!," Daaju stormed, "Raghu is not just our servant..."
"I'm sorry daaju." Mahima was stunned. In all the years that she had been living in the haveli, daaju had never raised his voice on her..
Shivani sensing that her brother and his wife didn't like the news quickly told daaju to go and ready as he had to take her proposal to raghu's house. dajju looked like he was about to say something but decided against it. he turned and left, leaving shivani to deal with Jass and Mahima..
"Shivani," Jass immediately spoke up..."What are you thinking? you want to get married to Raghu? Your brother is still alive and i will find the perfect match for you.."
"But Jass, I don't want you to find a match for me. I love raghu."
Jass looked at Mahima shocked. What were they hearing?This had to be some kind of joke. If it got out that the granddaughter of the very wealthy and powerful Balwant Rana was getting married to a servant then they would be the laughing stock of the town.
"Shivani, you are to young to know what love is. And do you even know what you're saying? You cannot get married to Raghu.."Jass tried to reason with her.
Shivani was getting angry at this point. "Jass, what are you saying?Why can't i get married to raghu?'
Jass walked up to shivani and shook her."Shivani i am your elder brother and i forbid you from marrying raghu!"
the words pierced into shivani's soul. What was Jass saying? Why didn't he want her to marry raghu?
"You forbid me? Jass what is this? I love Raghu and i intend to marry him. Nothing or no want is going to stop me!" Shivani looked like she was about to go to war.
Mahima quickly spoke up,"Shivani, you know how Jass gets hot headed. He says thinks without thinking, right Jass?'
Jass saw the sharp look in Mahima's eyes and nodded. "Dear sisiter please forgive. I don't what came over me. Of course I am happy for you. You are my baby sister. I have your best intersts at heart. I only want what's best for you."
"Jass I know that, and i know how much you care for me. but believe me this is what i want. I truely love raghu and he loves me to."
Mahima and Jass shared an eyelock. It seemed that they wer planning something. Mahima quickly told shivani that she would help shivani to dress up to go to raghu's house. she looked at jass and he nodded. he knew what he had to do.
shivani left the room with mahima, her happiness very evident on her face.
When Jass was alone alone he said, "Shivani you are not going to get married to raghu. He has nothing. How can i let you get married to someone so poor? I will have to do something. I would die before i let you marry beneath your class. We are Ranas. We are rich and powerful. We are like Gods. I won't let the Rana name become a laughing stock.!"
He pulled out his cell phone and called someone."Shivani and daaju are leaving the house soon. Please ensure that they don't get to their destination, but no harm should come to either of them or else its your head!"...
