What a nice episode today...nothing thrilling like yesterday's...but then a first day at work only happens once.
The obvious notion would be that it was a nice episode because of the lovely "I Love You" SurYa scene.
But my post is about something else...Bhabasa and Babo
For a long time now Bhabasa has let Bhabo rule the roost, but things get out of hand.
Yesterday he put his foot down when there was a confusion about Sandhya moving out of the Rathi house. Bhabo was all set to point fingers, and even Suraj was dialing Sandhya's number when Bhabasa put a stop to it.
Enough, he said. How much more does Sandhya have to prove herself? How much longer before we stop jumping to conclusions? How much longer before we stop doubting her every chance we get?
It's funny how Bhabo...who is a constant raging storm...goes into silent bheegi billi mode when Bhabasa finally makes the effort and puts his foot down.
He's done it before...but then it was more like him reasoning with her. Yesterday...it was more authoritative.
I so loved how Bhabo came into her bedroom, and approached Bhabasa with embarrassed caution. Why? Because she had been proved wrong once again.
And I loved how Bhabsa reminded her that in a household it is not just the children, but also the parents that have a responsibility.
And I loved how he pointed out to her that a Saas has responsibilities too...responsibilities that she hasn't been living up to.
The result...
Bhabo proudly put up Sandhya's name plate outside the Rathi home for all to see. She even defended her DIL in front of Daisa and others who have nothing better to do than put down someone's DIL.
Yesterday, Bhabo was just another one of those sarcastic ladies in the crowd. Now, thanks to Bhabsa...it seems something has finally clicked and she's finally taken a step in the right direction. 😊
