its not that easy to stay on top for weeks together months together
but how does dabh manage to do it

1 story; the key, its a true story and has lot of stuff for a daily soap
2 the screeplay or the scrip; the cvs have crafted the so well that never the show lacked pace and was never sluggish
3 characters; unlike other soaps dabh gives equal imp to all characters and doesnt revolve on the lead pair
a suraj; never have we seen a character like this on screen; he inspires ,his support for his wife, he makes the men's world feel proud of him, every woman wants a hubby like him, what else can we ask for
b sandhya: woman protagonist, she is the character of this era, the way she handles the situations , the way she balances between family and her dreams, her support for suraj,
c bhabho; though a tough character, her softer side is never missed by the cvs. her pov of a DIL focussing on family rather than run after dreams is almost acceptable to some extent
d bhabhasa; i dont remember if i have seen such a FIL character, he may not be the bread winner but still he balances the unity in the family, he makes bhabho's realise her mistake, supports his DIL
e meena: i have said enough of her in my other post. the best ever vamp/comic character, she may not be the lead but she has the potential
4social messages; never has been a show focussed on family drama an social messages with such ease, the story and sm go hand in hand

all credits to the team , the crew as well as the cast, they have made the best out of a one liner, a pani puri vendor makes his wife an IPS officer

👏 ⭐️ 👍🏼 😃

this may sound silly but i have to add this
the title song has to be added to the list, it is the song which pulled me to the show

Ramadi, I will say you have covered most points. But I would tell following are the points I want to add
- The script is the backbone of the show. It has a story and the story is told nicely and convincigly in a gripping manner
- Sandhya's character, a girl who aspires to be something beyond mother and wife. A girl whom most of the new generation including myself can relate to. Show showing aspiring for career doesnt make a woman bad, which most other show try to propogate. Her fight within the society which loves to shackle a woman in name of tradition. DABH questions most of the so called traditions.
- Sooraj's character, for once a male protoganist is not shown as dumb, but a man trying to balance his relationship with his over possessive , authorative mother and ambitious wife. He can be anyone out there who wants everything good for his family and also wants to do justice to his life partner. Sooraj's character has given voice to thousands of men who are called " Joru ka Ghulam" for supporting their wives.
- SURYA relationship- clearly brings out in a marriage beyond educational qualification, beyond financial aspects what determines the success is the respect, shared values and trust the partners have for each other. Love will follow where respect is. But without respect , love can wither away when faced with challenge( As evident in Momily relationship)
- RP except Bhabasa- stands for society which always tries to discourage whoever tries to raise the voice against it's said norms as they themselves cannot do it. Will go to any extent to stop them. Victory of SURYA against RP is the victory of an individual in a society for what one beleives in
- Bhabasa- A person who has not been able to do much for his family, have seen his son taking it up at very young age. Wants the best for him. A father who has very much understood his son. Only person in RP who knows what Sooraj wants.
- Chaturi and Chotu- Sometimes respect comes from the most unexpected people. Your relatives and family may not understand the innate goodness in you, but some people however small they are will never forget the kindness you shower on them. Chaturi and Chotu are examples. They are the people who actually love SURYA and will do anything to support them. So it tells us not to lose an oppourtunity to be good. As you never know who will help you.
Last but not the least the serial does show if you do good it will come back to you in one form or another, may not be from the people you expect.

Agree with you ramaji.
The script writers do their job very well.
they concentrate on nook and corner of the story.
The cast, their dialogues, RP set, title track everything made us to enjoy the show.

thala and shruthi you have mentioned all...next time please leave some points for me to add 😆...I find DABH screenplay is really good (except for the two weeks ago ones) also I like some 'natural touches' in some scenes like meena ducking to avoid getting hit when bhabo actually lift her hand to do something else 😆 RP dining together (as you mentioned before thala) also yesterdays suraj munching the sweet (breakfast) in between...no particular meaning in the gestures but it's nice to watch...

many will think our dabh time slot is quite luck for us,but its not true.only with good prime time slot one will not get good trp ex like previous serial in SP at 9pm,gulaal didnt get good trp after bidaai.also 8.30 pm show, its good time slot but trp is bcz handling of show is not good.

but in our dabh, handling all sections like screen play, directing, cinematography, actors, story, writers all r working hard to keep their place in top.its all their hard work.if v get bored of story then trp will affect us.

so,its not only upto time slot its beyond that.

after one stage all show will get low trps.but dabh is maintaining good trp.its a record man.
u guys wrote most points.so this point from my side.😆

Great points everyone, The sets and the setting are perfect too. RM architecture with the gg room, antique furniture, balconies, aangan, hall, curving staircase, multiple windows, store room for badaam, kitchen with brass utensils,MKD, Pooja room with the window overlooking MKD,Rathi saree center, and Hanumaan gali all add a unique charm.

The three C's of this dabh diamond, cast, characters and comedy. Dabh comedy scenes are as unique as SurYa scenes with prop usage.

Most importantly, SurYa. An unlikely match made in heaven. Suraj and Sandhya, one cannot even imagine one without the other. ❤️

I agree with you all.

I like the Cast and Crew of the show and the vision they all share with each other for the show which is consistent to Star's tag line. Rishta Wohi Soch Nayi.

I had responded yesterday to the awards post titled "unfair" where people were saying it was unfair on some grounds where Sooraj lost. I was disagreeing and actually felt all the awards DABH received at SPA 2013, they truly deserved it. I had explained my reasons at not winning a certain category and winning others. The post was closed as the Mod said we were not allowed to discuss other shows...and unfortunately I was like...where else I can add these thoughts. Comparison to aa hi jaata hai...but rules are rules. So be it.

Anyways, the below is an excerpt of the that post of mine.

Quote
And I liked Ghar ka Star awards for Sooraj and Sandhya...coz they both really inspire people to be the best in all aspects, be it to excel at what they do after a lot of strife, struggle and hardwork (occupationally - cooking, social service, studies) or do whatever it takes to preserve family (their sacrifices for family) and finally being supportive to each other with trust and confidence along with the desire to change for the better, to adapt to times. This is what ordinary people outside TV world too face and would like to get inspired by...to beat the daily grill of life like Sandhya and Sooraj.

I liked DABH's director Rohit Raj Goyal's words that in every track, actually the progress that Sooraj makes, is what is appealing to him...as it DEPICTS WINNING of NAYI SOCH. And for that ghar ka star awards is kudos 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 How the husband by supporting the wife and letting her decide her priorities by giving all that independence...is actually promoting RISHTE WOHI SOCH NAYEE. Both the spouses break their own moulds and redefine themselves. They break conventions of their own build. Sooraj has always been a good Beta...but sacrificing it for his nayi soch he has brought down barriers and is now a person who is recognized by people of Pushkar not just for his sweets but for his agenda on to spread social awareness...be it cleanliness drive, Top Cook, Anti-Terrorism, Exposing Fake Guru or Supporting wife's education...he is really coming out as an ACHIEVER with people like the DSP on his side. And Sandhya...breaks the mould of the rudimentary thought process...that a modern girl like her with Nayi Soch cannot be a good Bahu. She proves that...what if she cannot cook, what if she cannot do house-hold chores as adeptly as Bhabho, but she is still GHAR ki LAKSHMI...like once Babasa said...ever since Sandhya came to Raathi Parwaar, Pariwaar ki Pratishta badh gayi...everyone just sings their accolades. Samman has followed her into the house. Isn't that prosperity as representative of Ghar ki Lakshmi ? Sandhya with her nayee soch in tact strives to preserve all the Rishte around her.

This is what RRGoyal was saying...

Which track according to you has worked very well on-screen?

The best track of Diya Baati is the track of Suraj which shows his life and how supportive and caring person he is. Each and every track had some 'Nayi soch' in it and it worked well whether it was the Singapore track which showed that even a common person can aspire for high levels of success, the terrorist track which is very much relatable to our society's scenario, the Swamiji's track which showed that these kinds of ill deeds should be stopped. So, there is no comparison among these tracks.

Among the cast and crew, I would like to specially mention my appreciation towards Shashi Mittal and her story telling and how well she coordinates with Star's Creative head. Because ultimately if the channel story writers do not approve the PH's story writing, the episode can never get executed. I know a lot of shows where show writers change stories as channel does not approve their story as it goes against what the channel stands for, for various reasons. In DABH's case, its the twin effort of channel and PH that has worked wonders for the show.

I would also like to specially mention Raghuvir Shekhawat, the dialogue writer. His dialogues are rivetting. One of the show's highlight, right next after the story telling. And to pour life into those dialogues we have the excellent cast. Its one big family.

Its all within the tag line.

In my post yesterday, I was also saying Babasa deserved best Sasur award, but he could never have won best father award as he has not done anything to deserve that, except understanding and supporting Sooraj. That he doesn't correct his other sons and daughters.
And BANG!!! today we had Babasa telling Mohit to be supportive to his wife. I liked Ashok Lokande saying that earlier his role was miniscule but now his character is given meat as audience has accepted him.

So things change when Audience also give a fair feedback. So that's for us. I liked Star giving those Ghar ka star awards to the leads of the show who are inspirations for many and I liked Deepika giving back the appreciation to audience and Anas's couplet that he started alone but others joined him enroute his journey. So DABH is this great journey that we are all loving.

Oh God...now we are asking why DABH No. ! ??? and that too after celebrating 500 episodes????...yeh tou wahi baat huye...asking why Lord RAM Killed Ravan after listening to Ramayan 🤣

Rama & Shruthi have listed ALL THE POINTS that make DABH as # 1 but both forgot one VERY IMPORTANT thing that makes it #.1.

Arre...you forgot US... We audience. fans!!!!!!!!

Remember, sometimes everything could be good but if there are no takers then it cannot be # 1...

We fans have latched on to it every single day...there have been many episodes / tracks that could be categorized as GOOD or BAD...dragging out for so many days...testing our patience...but we fans never left the show or bid adieu to it...we maintained it as # 1.

So the biggest reason DABH is # 1 is WE, FANS 😊
