Stage is set for some crime fighting. Romance? Romance ko goli maar do. DCI Sandy Rathi has been handed a juicy case on a plate. Sur started by feeding her two bites. Sandy then cleared up the mosquito coil mystery. Sur tells her she's police material. Was she going to tell him that he was psychic? That he seems to know what buttons to press to kabhie start a romantic interlude, kabhie stop one? Chaturi Interruption. So Sur will have to make do with his vague ideas that she loves getting to the bottom of things. Anyway, she's full after two minuscule mouthfuls.
That wardrobe has case files dating back to the Raj. So Sandy pulls out the relevant copy of FIR and decides that there are one too many co-incidences. Correct! This is the first rule of detection - don't believe in co-incidences. Then she homes in on Meena. How dare Meena do that to her Bahbo (and her). She will never forgive Meena. What! Sandy, calm down. Pour yourself something to drink, sit on that chair with cushions and ruminate over the case. You need to develop some style. Meanwhile I'll settle in my fave chair with my fluffy bedroom slippers and together we'll solve this.
Meena reminded me of Julia Roberts' Erin Brokovich. Vik reminded me of someone from Oceans 13. The hotel reminded me of an office it was used for in another serial some years ago. Sandy should have no trouble pinning all crimes on these two. They aren't exactly blending in anywhere. I'm dying to see Bonnie and Clyde shake a leg at some disco, while DCI Sandy Rathi races to apprehend them in a jeep. Bring back those 70s blockbusters.
Bhabo is left with washing up. Chavi coochie cooing with Dilip isn't exactly helping. But Bhabo, lighten up. Your daughter is chatting with her fiance. Happy. Be happy. Now, about Suraj telling Sandy he couldn't feed her in front of Bhabo. He sounded a bit peeved. Sandy could not care less. And I have to tell Sur, 'You can do it next time that festival comes'. He's going to ask Bhabo's permission to take his wife to the pictures. Now that's more of a worry. Better just leave it to Sandy. She just marches up to Bhabo and informs her that she has 'important work, don't ask' and walks out.
The general feeling I get is that, Sur is going to take a back seat. Sandy is going to do whatever she thinks needs doing and she will do it whether Bhabo likes it or not. Bhabo has some kind of confidence in Sandy that she relies on. Something that even her son doesn't have.
Next week is anyone's guess. Rampaging Sandy. Villains partying the night away. Bhabo all alone washing pots. Sur daydreaming and maybe finding some moments to sell some sweets.
ps. Sandy's sprained hand was so that she will be released from hanging clothes and can think about the case and piece together the clues.
One other small thingie...when Sur came with the tray of food. Sandy stood up. Aaye haaye!
