| Prologue |
Clasping her palm with his hand, he rushed along, laying her on the stretcher, making a hurried way towards the operation theatre.
He was forced to look up when her hand slipped off his, and the stretcher was pushed inside the operation theatre and an intern doctor stood between him and the woman who was on the other side. She calmly told him, that he must stay outside but he refused, verbalising, that he was the The Rakshit Shergill, followed by an almost threat not to stop him but little did he know, his pitch failed to even match his normal one, leave aside shouting that he thought he was doing. His words stammered and his voice came out all unsettled as he struggled to breathe.
The intern doctor could only return him a weak smile assuring that his wife would get the best treatment and every effort... they could put to save her life. Being an intern, she might not have seen plenty of cases but being a doctor, she held the sensitivity towards the man, whose loved one was battling for her life. He definitely would have argued more had Shikhar not interrupted, reminding him that if she didn't get operate soon then...
Shikhar had deliberately halted his words, knowing what he said would be enough to pull Rakshit back and Shikhar wasn't wrong.
Glancing at the doctor once, Rakshit's pleading eyes screamed silently, to not let her go... to not let her go away from this world, from him. Acknowledging the unsaid words, the doctor closed the door, to give whatever was possible, to save another life.
He was distressed, in extreme anxiety, sorrow and pain... in anxiety of a stinging possibility of operation being unsuccessful... in sorrow of bitter harsh hitting reality that he was the reason, behind whatever condition, she was in, that he was the to be blamed. To his more grief, every moment they shared together so far, reminded him, his life was worth with her. She had brought out every emotion within him, extreme happiness, extreme anger and that day, .extreme fear.
