Hey Everyone Just recently started watching the show and in love with Mr. and Mrs. Shergill. Here is something that I wrote on a whim as I feel like we don't get enough of them. Hope you guys like it. <3 I will write more if you guys enjoy it. Let me know.

Losing Him

"Just go, Mr. Shergill." She voiced the restlessness in her heart. Something was wrong. She could feel it in her bones. If he stayed with her, he could lose his life. She needed him to go. His life was in danger. And his attitude said he couldn't care any less. "Please."

His hands froze around the tie he was knotting. His eyes met hers as he stared at her reflection in the mirror.

"Is there a reason for me to stay back anyways, Mrs. Shergill."

Calling her out by the name that became a bond between them. A name that reserved so much meaning and love for them. God, he wanted her to stop him. Going away from her was going to break his heart in pieces, but he wanted her to say it. For her to let him know that she was in this relationship because she loved him. That he became a part of her, just like she became a part of him. He wanted her to say it that he meant something to her, if not everything.

The redness in her eyes told the truth that she was just as much distraught as him. The cracking in her voice. The tremble in her hands. He knew she felt something. He just wanted her to say it. He needed words. But in vain. His wife could talk about anything in the world except for what was in her heart.

"It doesn't have to end like this." Tears were lingering in her eyes as she stared back at him. Sorrow engraved in both of their eyes but none of them ready to admit it. She couldn't handle his questioning gaze. She couldn't answer his questions so all she could do was beg him to let her go without hurting himself anymore.

"Yes, it does, Drishti."

She closed her eyes as if an onslaught of agony skated over her body. He'd always called her Mrs. Shergill. It became a term of endearment for them. A way for her to belong to him. A way for her to be bonded to him. When he called her Mrs. Shergill, she felt like he called her his own.

"Don't call me that."

"When I sign these papers, you'll lose my name, and everything related to that name." You'll lose me. He wanted to say it but only if he could hear it from her that she couldn't lose him. He knew the impact of his words. He wanted to hurt her like he was hurting inside. Did she not have any idea what she did to him? Everything inside of him was screaming in pain. She refused to ever accept they loved each other.

"You're changing the topic." She turned away from him, hiding the falling tears. He held onto her wrist, preventing her from moving.

"Running away from everything, aren't we?" He taunted her.

"Let me go, Mr. Shergill."

"I have Mrs. Shergill." His fingers loosened and her wrist fell from his hand. "A very long time ago." God, it was such a lie. He could never. She had ruined him for anyone else. He could never let her ago. Part of her was always going to live in his heart forever. How could he tell her that every time he thought of letting her go, his breath got stuck in his throat? That every time he tried to sign the divorce papers; his hands shook. The thoughts of her not being his wife rattled him inside.

"Why did you marry me in the first place? If you never could bear the thought of being with me, Mrs. Shergill." Damn it. He hated himself for being so weak. He hated her for making him feel so broken and helpless. He wanted her to say something. Anything. That part of her belonged to him. That somewhere in her heart she chose to marry him because she felt something for him.

"For Divi."

"Damn it." He cursed under his breath and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closed while caressing her jaw with his other hand. "Is that all? No other reason?" He traced her lips with his thumb as he stared into her bloodshot eyes. Looking for the love she held captive in her heart.

"Kuch to Hoga mere liye." He whispered. Put his forehead against hers as he closed his eyes. It hurt too much to look into her eyes. He almost begged her to stop him from signing the divorce papers. He felt her hand move and then come to still.

"If you sign these, everyone will be happy. I need you to sign these." She choked on her words as she voiced her own destruction. His beautifully sad brown eyes shot open as her words left her lips. The eyes that she had come to love. The eyes that brought so much peace to her restless soul. The eyes that belonged to the man who had given her the whole damn world. The man that taught her to care, to feel, and to fall madly in love. The man who became the best damn husband. Her husband... with whom she fell so irrevocably in love with.

"Every damn person is happy." He pushed her away as if touching her was literally hurting him and causing him pain. His voice rang in the room as he let out his pain. "Divi and Shikhar, Maa, Lavanya, Sunny... Everyone." His voice had gone quiet. The words carrying the hurt in his heart. "You know who is not happy... You and me... because you are too terrified to choose us. Because you are too scared to let yourself love me. Because you are breaking us apart. You are breaking your heart and mine."

He snatched the papers from her hand and clenched his jaw.

"And I'm done begging Mrs. Drishti Rakshit Shergill." He yelled out her name as if savoring it for the one last time. The last their name could ever be together. "You'll get these in the mail. SIGNED." He pulled the suit jacket and clasped the button.

The man in front of her went from her husband to be a ruthless businessman in a second and she knew he was done with her. She watched his figure disappear through the door without looking back. She had just destroyed whatever left of her was left with her own bare hands.

"Rakshit mat jao."

The words came out as a cry, but he was long gone, leaving her to suffocate in the destruction she caused on her own.
