The Sadie Hawkins Dance (It Had Always Been Her)

The Sadie Hawkins Dance was just around the corner and Cody wanted Bailey to ask him for the dance.

ZACK's ROOM

Cody- I really want Bailey to ask me for the Sadie Hawkins Dance!

Zack- Yeah. Good luck with that!

Cody- Zack! Don't you see the heat between me and Bailey?

Zack- There wont be any heat even if you guys were in a sauna!

Cody- Why do you keep saying that?

Zack- Coz' that's the truth!

Cody- And since when have you become so truthful?

Zack- I have always been honest!

Cody- C'mon dude! Even when you say you are being honest you are lying!

Zack- You are probably right!

TITLE SONG

Cody plans to ask London to help him with impressing Bailey. He knocks at London's room. London opens the room.

LONDONs ROOM

London- Hey Cody! What are you doing here?

Cody- Have you heard about the Sadie Hawkins Dance?

London- You mean the one when a guy asks the girl out?

Cody- No....a Sadie Hawkins Dance is when the girl asks the guy. It's usually the other way round!

London- Oh....so you want me to ask you?

Cody- Noooooo. I want Bailey to ask me.

There is a tint of sadness in London's eyes.

London- Oh....so why don't you speak to her?

Cody- See I want you give me pointers on how to impress her.

London- Well she thinks anything related to farms are cool. Try a cowboy look or something!

Cody- Thank's London! You rock!

They hug.

Cody leaves but there is a tint of sadness in London's eyes.

THE SMOOTHIE BAR

Zack is taking care of the smoothie bar and also wondering who will be asking him out to the dance.

Zack- (in his mind- Who will ask me to the dance? Will it be Bailey? Naw! Let Cody have her. Ooooh will it be the hot French girl Camille? Everyone says she has a huge crush on me!)

A girl- Can I have Strawberry blast smoothie?

Zack- Sure my lady.

Zack starts filling a cup with the smoothie. The girl looks like she is 18 or something. She had her face covered with her hat.

Zack (handing her the smoothie cup)- So....have you come to ask me to the dance?

Girl (shaking her head)- You haven't changed at all have you? Still the flirty guy huh?

Zack- Maddie??????

It was Maddie!!!!

Maddie- Hey Zack!

Zack- Maddie! What are you doing here?

Maddie- Your mother told me that you have your Sadie Hawkins Dance coming weekend and I thought you would be interested in going with me!

Zack- Really?

Maddie- Yep! You went with me to my prom so I figured you would like it if I went with you to this dance!

Zack- My answer is a yes!!!!!

Maddie- I haven't even asked you yet!

Zack- Who cares? My answer is yes yes yes yes yes!

Maddie- Perfect!

Bailey comes there.

Bailey- Hey Zack!

Zack- Hey Bailey! Bailey meet my good friend and my date for the Sadie Hawkins Dance- Maddie Fitzpatrick! Maddie meet my friend Bailey Pickett!

Bailey- Hey Maddie! I have heard loads about you!

Maddie- That's nice! I have heard about you too!

Bailey- Cool! Hey I'll leave you guys talking! I have to work on some homework!

Maddie- Sure. Bye!

Bailey leaves.

BREAK

NEXT DAY

Cody is dressed up as a chicken, obviously to impress Bailey. He arrives in class and everybody laughs at him!

Bailey- Cody why are you dressed up as a chicken?

Cody- Ummmmm I wanted you to ask me to....

Zack- No.....don't Cody don't!

Cody- to be your partner on the history project!

Bailey- Sure! I was worried that you wanted me to ask you to the dance!

Cody- Whom are you going to ask?

Bailey- Holden!

Cody- Who's that?

Bailey- A guy I really like!

Cody- Ohh..

Class gets over and everybody leaves.

BREAK

NEXT DAY

This day Cody dresses up as a cowboy. He meets London and Zack at the smoothie bar.

Zack- You know London?

London- What?

Cody- Maddie's here to be Zack's date for the dance!

London- You mean hideous hair Maddie?

Maddie- My hair isnt hideous! Hey London! How have you been?

London- Great! Nice to see you!

London- So Cody has Bailey asked you yet?

Cody- No.....

London- You know I can always ask you....

Cody- As exciting as that sounds I think I will pass.

The class starts and London feels all down and sad. The day passes and so does the week without Bailey asking Cody.

THE DAY OF THE DANCE

Cody is worried about going to the dance since Bailey hasn't asked him yet. He plans to ask her himself now. That's why he has called her to his room. Someone knocks upon the door. Cody opens the door. He sees Holden and Bailey kissing. He gets furious.

Cody- BAILEY!

Bailey- Hey Cody meet my partner to the dance Holden!

Cody- Bailey how could you? Couldn't you see that I had been trying to impress you all week? I really like you and you don't even want to ask me out!

Bailey- But Cody I don't like you as anything but a friend!

Cody- You are too much!

Saying so he stomps out the room leaving a bewildered Bailey waiting.

TIME OF DANCE

Everyone is having a ball of their time. Bailey is dancing with Holden, Zack with maddie. It's only Cody who is alone. He is very sad and upset. London taps his shoulder.

Cody- Oh hi london!

London- Hey Cody! I guess Bailey didn't ask you out after all.

Cody- Naw. I guess we are not meant to be together......

London- Don't say that! You will definitely find someone better!

Cody- Maybe. How come you don't have a partner? I mean you can ask any guy to go with you!

London- Yeah but that doesn't mean I like the guy.

Cody- Oh. Did you want to ask anyone out?

London- Yes. But I guess he liked someone else.

Cody- Oh.....guess we ended on the same note.....who was it?

London- You sure you want to know?

Cody- Yeah sure!

London- Well it is you.

Cody- Me? You like me? But London.....how come....I don't understand!

London- Yes Cody. I mean we have been friends for so long! I didn't even know when I started feeling for you.

Cody- You know something?

London- What?

Cody- Suddenly I don't even feel sad about not dancing with Bailey. I feel quite okay when I think of it. I mean it was not like we were meant to get married and have kids or something. Even when I caught her and Holden kissing I didn't feel as bad as I thought I would! Guess so it never meant much!

London- Oh.

Cody- So you wanna dance?

London- You mean it?

Cody- Of course London!

London- Then I say sure!

They start dancing. As they danced, lost in each other with every couple staring at them, Cody realised that it had always been her.
