Hello forum-wasis!
It's been a long time since I have delved into any hindi sitcom so it feels good to be finally watching something, the hopeless viewer I am, hoping this turns out to be a good watch! Needless to say, I have read the book, fallen for it, the teenaged hopelessly trying-not-to-be-but yet-end-up-being romantic I am and even though I am not at all particularly into shows adapted from books I have liked, Dilliwali thakur girls has already caught me.

First things first, what REALLY truly annoys me is the spelling of 'girls' as in the show's name. Yes, I am the grammar Nazi you will hate 😆 However seems as if I am incapable of doing anything about it, I will go with the flow and you know just adapt to it.[As if the show's makers give a damn about my grammar sensitivities😛]

Second things second, I am one of those people who will watch anything if she likes the couple. *sigh* And even though I have often pretended to be extremely sensible and up righteous about watching Indian tv shows, you can often find me staring at my television screen with the expression of a perfect fangirl🥱 I loved Dylan and Dabbu in the book. Dabbu was me, she was almost me, maybe reason Enough why I loved the book. I have honestly not really followed Sukirti's shows but she has always been a bubbly face, very apt for giving innocent expressions :) What strikes me is the fact that they portray Dabbu to be slightly more on the dumb side, which she is NOT. I am a sucker for clumsy bedhead female characters who still are strong and intelligent(Yes I am also very stereotypical 😆)
I like her, I do, but to be more on balance with Dylan, I want her to be a lady sometimes and strike back at him with viewpoints which will make him realise that she is a match for him ! however it is too early to draw impressions and I would like to let it be at the moment.

Coming to Dylan Singh Shekhawat[uff! 😉 ] Have always loved Aamir Ali in FIR and I actually like this new avatar of him. He is perfect and I just can't wait to see him fall for Dabbu :'D

Not trying to bore you guys too much so it's a wrap. Hoping to see more of this forum and for Dabbu Dylan and the sisters and so much more :D

PS-I love their sets did I say?

Hey. This is Raj.
A big welcome to the forum. 🤗
Okay.. Coming to your post, I absolutely loved it.
The spelling of girls in the title I think is to add a slightly local and mundane feel to the show that makes it normal yet set apart.
Being finicky about spellings it did put me off at the start too . I got over that little hiccup pretty soon.
I loved the show mainly for the couple and watch it for them. I am hundred percent absent minded so I relate to Dabbu in the book. However, as many people have voiced out she is portrayed to be childish and even lacking common sense . Hopefully the writers correct it as the youth prefer heroines with brains and who are strong enough to retaliate when needed. I find the entire ensemble cast interesting and they are a talented bunch of both veteran and new actors. The opulent set appeals much to everyone and hope to see you writing stuff on the show.
Great post! ! :)

I have the exact same problem with her. However, I don't think she needs to particularly be "a lady". She just needs to be more fiery and stand up for herself. I don't like comparing these two characters together because it's more than evident that Dabbu is not given any opportunities to show her true self from the beginning. I keep hearing about how awesome Dabbu is in the book but television shows like to dumb down their ladies to make the men look better. Which is essentially what is wrong here.

Same here. I haven't followed Sukirti's shows but I like her acting skills in the show.
And I loved Aamir in FIR too. Aamir knows to spice up romantic scenes. So I am definitely looking forward to DebLan. 😛
