Sanjeevani hospital is all set to reopen. But this time around four days a week on Star One with new intern doctors. The critically acclaimed show is rekindled as 'Dill Mill Gayye'' and it will go on air from August 20 th.
'Dill Mill Gayye'will be a medical drama that follows the lives of five first year surgical interns, Dr. Anjali (Sunaina Gulla), Dr. Sapna (Muskaan Mehani), Dr. Armaan (Karan Singh), Dr. Atul (Pankitt Thaker) and Dr. Riddhima (Shilpa Anand). The five interns will play their tricks under the watchful eyes of Dean Dr. Shashank Gupta (Mohnish Bhel, the only doctor from the previous cast to save his job).
"Dill..' is not a sequel to Sanjeevani. The only thing common between them is the name of the hospital and Mohnish Bhel. After starting on a bright note, Sanjivani drifted away from its theme and turned out to be a saas-bahu saga," says Siddhartha Malhotra, Producer.
This time around it's a youth oriented and character driven show. Story revolves around the lives of five medical interns. Every character plays a pivotal role. Unlike Sanjeevani, there won't be any vamps. The story will never drift away from the hospital. But it has his share of love and envy. So, it will be complete entertainment package. Earlier, Gurdeep Kohli was approached but somehow it did not work out. Gurdeep and Arjun are like family to me. Before any offer was made, I had clearly mentioned to Gurdeep that this time she' wouldn't be playing a central role. I did not think of getting Rupali back," adds Siddhartha.
As mentioned before, Mohnish Bhel is the only survivor from 'Sanjeevani'. Additional L and R in the title were added at the jurisdiction of noted numerologist Sanjay Jumani.
