Wonder when the ghoul will if ever comprehend the malevolence and when and how like Sareeta put it and then what will happen to that sense of self. How will the self look, and will the ghoul shy away and hide for eternity with misgivings, never to raise its ugly head or will it remain head held high, not comprehending, very much in place.

And the kindred soul, its pleas unheard, its illusion shattered, will it be too disgusted and wary and move on never to heed to the pleas of the ghoul ever? Will lick its wounds, recuperate, and ever brave expression again elsewhere, will it heed to the pleas of a reformed and repentent ghoul, or will it retreat forever inside a fotress, a wounded animal once bitten, afraid to venture forth ever again.

tell me about it...and here's greater irony...that this post on misunderstanding was misunderstood!!!

gina...while i am quite sure our ghoul will repent and knwoing the nature of the ghoul will probably not hold it head high and ackowledge its malfeasance. instead our ghoul will perhaps (like sareeta had mentioned elsewhere) resort to a lifetime of self pity and pleas of it own, whining for its sense of self to be restored. because our ghoul has been made fierce by the world that perceives it.

as for the kindred soul...i think the wounds now run too far deep for it to be able to just nurse them back. even if it does, i think the scars will remain...probably not hampering expression elsewhere, but most likely, the pleas of the ghoul will fall on deaf years. or atleast thats what i would like. our kindred soul has been blessed with expression and so with being misunderstood (thanks for that one sareeta), it will never strip itself off this boon and be damned ever!!

Unable to express your feelings just so, can't think of the right words, words fail you in front of the right person at the right time, not able to express in the right place?? Oh the woes of expression and this is just the beginning!

You persevere nevertheless and lo and behold you are misunderstood as to the context, the content, the situation, even your personality at times. The travails continue......

Braving the risk of being misunderstood, ostracized, laughed at, ignored, lynched .....

You amble along hoping for the chance acknowledgment, understanding, appreciation for hope is eternal in the human heart. Hope floats (Sareeta?).

Oh well on the other hand when it leaves a professor of language and linguistics stumped, need I say how it leaves us mere mortals and laymen feeling ??!!??

Oh the woes of expression! 😕

Aarti, Gina: I agree with Aarti, that the kindred soul ( although it bothers me a tad bit to refer to this mortal as kindred soul, for we can never be sure can we ? and so for the sake of reference, I call refer to as angel in stark contrast to the ghoul ) , or the angel as I prefer , has been blessed with the boon of expression and shall never be damned..(thank you for that phrase Aarti) while the ghoul... disposed by nature to wallow in wounded pride, if ever shaken... will only feed off on the generosity or goodness of the hearts of others to nuture its wounded pride... and may realize... the glory of a life, that could have been .... after she has lived her own... starkly different from one that could have been , leaving no room ... for repentance and brooding... for its too late!

Oh the woes of expression and this is just the beginning! sometimes all that clicks...you generate the right words, direct them at the right person and at the right time and place and you are still misunderstood...because in this case as sareeta put it, it is the predilection of the vain to misunderstand. even on hindsight and severe retrospection you cannot find fault with your expression...yet you know you have been misunderstood...vanity or imbecility, i don't know...but predilection and privelege of a few definitely!!!!
