Actress allegedly slapped for poor kissing scene

By Mohammed Shafeeq, Indo-Asian News Service

Hyderabad, July 23 (IANS) Telugu film actor-producer and former MP Mohan
Babu has been accused of slapping an upcoming actress when she failed to do
a kissing scene properly.

Mohan Babu allegedly slapped Shilpa Sivanand, sister of well-known southern
actress Sakshi, while shooting a film he is producing to launch his son
Vishnu in the tinsel world.

He has also been accused of slapping and abusing the actress' mother,
Parveen Sivanand, and locking them up in a room.

Following a complaint by the actress and her mother, Hyderabad Police here
registered a case against Mohan Babu under sections 323 (voluntarily causing
hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of
peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police have not yet taken any action against the actor and say they have
started a probe into the incident and would take action only after
completing the inquiry.

The incident took place during the shooting of a song at Annapoorna studio
for the film titled "Vishnu". Mohan Babu allegedly got angry with the
actress for failing to express herself properly during a kissing scene with
his son.

When the actress refused to redo the scene, he allegedly abused and slapped
her. When Shilpa's mother arrived at the studio, Mohan Babu reportedly
pulled her by her hair and also slapped her. He then allegedly locked the
two in a room.

Parveen informed her elder daughter, Sakshi, on phone that Mohan Babu had
beaten them and locked them in a room. Sakshi, who was in Mumbai, spoke to
Hyderabad Police Commissioner M.V. Krishna Rao over phone and sought his
help.

When police reached the studio, it was empty. Shilpa and her mother reached
the police station to lodge a complaint. They told police that Mohan Babu
had taken an undertaking from them that he could take legal action against
them if Shilpa failed to complete shooting.

Sources in the Telugu film industry said Mohan Babu is known for his
high-handedness with actors. He has allegedly been involved in many
incidents of beating co-stars and misbehaving with producers and directors.

He was a Telugu Desam Party MP but was expelled from the party following
differences with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N.
Chandrababu Naidu.

I found this whilst on the internet... I know it has been posted before but this is a slightly different version of the story (about shilpa being manhandled)
