Exactly Aarti, I echo what Ginak said, I was talking to her and expressed that I have this urge to shift to your city and take classes and have you teach us all day! Jus reading your posts have given us so much to read and learn about! And boy... getting back to classes never seemed this inviting at all and like Gina says... only one professor and that is you!

@ gina...first thanks so much for that much awaited response to the critique. what i have written would be the true nature of a critique, give or take a few theories. i can still think of several theories i could apply.

i really wish i had elaborated on each of the theories i listed, but then the focus would've have shifted away from the story and in any case, the critique has to assume prior knowledge of some concepts.

though i must say, if you are interested, i could really point you in the direction of feminine writing or ecriture feminine as a philosophy. it is really delightful...heavy reading, but perhaps i could sort out the lighter articles. when u read through those you will be shocked to see how patriarchal and gender based subversion has governed language all these years. that is all these feminists ask women to do. forget equal opportunity blah blah blah. start with language and its use....

@ gina and sareeta...would love to see your faces in a class...but unfortunately am not teaching anymore. atleast not literature or linguistics. all i do is part time verbal classes for GRE/GMAT aspirants. i'm enjoying my role as full time mom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aarti: On behalf of Gina and myself, I request you to please send us the articles so that we could do some reading....

Your critique has opened us up to so many new concepts that we were not aware, oh , we'd lap up anything on the same lines, you sent us now.

And more interestingly, you pointed out my use of the word Giggle in the story and not associating it with the silly airheaded laugh , but a mirthful one at that as opposed to patriachal usage of the same word and that was a revelation for me, that such a school of thought existed. Would really really be interested in the concept and would look forward to articles on those.

Am sure Gina will be looking forward too!

Thanks Aarti once again. Wud love to read the articles you suggest and anything you suggest we read. It is really nice, interacting with you is always a pleasure.

Do consider the special classes, from what I hear and perceive it will be a treat and man am I a good listener. I just love people who dont give me an opportunity to talk cos I jus cant, talk that is but just love to listen. Wouldnt Sarita and I be delighted!! She was saying she wud love to attend classes and so wud I.

It would be interesting to see how language is subjugated by patriachial style. I guess it was after reading Dan Brown (the Da Vinci Code) I got an idea (though just a very superficial one and I havent sadly been able to pursue it)of how nature and symbolism giving importance to women were all undermined by the Church (in the context of what his book says)and patriarchy tightened its hold on society. It is interesting to note that the same is prevalent in language as well.
