Since you're answering the queries here, I am quoting myself again what I wrote on Page ONE and didn't get a respond to. And if you will say please report it to DT, then I did that atlast 3 times and more than 5 days or so back. And before these 5 days also I have kept reporting but to no avail.

Would be better if you post the screenshot here and we will take appropriate action.

Cheers,
Vijay

Thanks for this Vijay, it was much needed. It is sad that the entire production team including the actors had to hold a press conference to urge people to stop the abuse.

For people who had questions about what the production house can do, 1) Depending on where the "defendant" lives, the production house has various legal options. 2) Any abusive language can be derogatory and can be proved in the court of law as Harassment. I am not a legal expert so I cannot clarify the range of punishment provided the defendant is proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Something I found online:
"Harassment
Whereas content may be offensive in a non-specific way, harassment directs obscenities and derogatory comments at specific individuals focusing for example on gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation. This often occurs in chat rooms, through newsgroups, and by sending hate e-mail to interested parties (see cyber bullying, cyber stalking, harassment by computer, hate crime, Online predator, and stalking). Any comment that may be found derogatory or offensive is considered harassment."

I am sure there are many legal routes the production house can take to bring these young lost souls to justice.

I do not represent the production house or I-F, these are solely my views.

Okay. here's the thing. I want to send a really nasty mail to a celebrity I hate. I make a fake account on hotmail.com, either download a proxy or use a web proxy like 'hidemyass.com' (which changes my IP and hence my location), and then send a really 'derogatory' mail to the celebrity. It's harrassment! but what can the celebrity do? by the time they would manage to trace the 'defendant', the defendant in question would already have died of old age.
that's a very basic 'harrassment' trick used by many rookies. they're still alive and enjoying their lives.
BUT, this is besides the point. If some X, Y, Z decides to send a hate mail to any star/celebrity, then how on earth is IF responsible or liable for anything? even if by some unforeseen miracle the user is traced, then he/she is the one to blame, not IF. then why all this hulabaloo? 😕
now, coming to MY issue - it isn't about hate mails at all. my comic strip was trashed because apparently we're not allowed to mock the CVs and/or characters on this forum. so basically, what are we allowed to do? the number of 'rules' issued in this forum exceed the number of sections under the Indian penal code.

IMHO there are so many things that one can do apart from "mocking" the CVs, individuals or a character to show their creative side. There are millions of topics on India-Forums.com itself, which one can check to get a few ideas.

And as far as set of forum rules goes it is to ensure that there is a healthy environment where majority of people feels welcomed. (I intentionally used "majority" cause we cant keep "everyone" happy all the time even if we try).

Regards,
Vijay

Anku I say post the screenshot here. Vijay himself asked you to do that and shouldn't everyone see what some DT members do? There needs to be a transparency to the system. What's the point of hiding this?

Vijay if you are here, then can you please address this concern: how come topics that appreciate some very intimate scenes between actors are allowed? Isn't that pushing the envelope and promoting as well as showing vulgar content? Plus there is no age limit to IF, and some topics, especially in the recent past, are clearly just appreciating intimate/passionate scenes. If you are allowing such content, then at least put some rating on it or some age limit. A lot of the users of the DMG forum are young teens and some of the content of these such topics is not appropriate for them.

As much as I love the masala DMG forum provides us with on a daily routine why make a mockery out of someone when they have already done it to themselves? I think it will be better if you PM VJ personally so that things get taken care of :]
I mean sure go ahead and make them public [not like they aren't already public] if no action is taken😛 but wait a little bit😳
Rest is of course in your hands😳😳😳 Personal choice anku and seert😃

But Jot shouldn't there be some transparency to the system especially when the person concerned is a DT member? I wouldn't be for making it public if it was a regular member, but I think that as a part of the DT, one ought to especially abide by the rules of IF. And I think the person Anku is talking about has done this mocking bit repeatedly. I don't understand how their rights haven't been revoked. If this was some other system, then it would have been done a long time ago along with an apology from the person.
Oh and if it is the same person that Anku is talking about the not only signatures, but they have also mocked certain fans and gotten away with it. If IF does wish to uphold all its rules, then they need to look into this issue asap.
