Armaan and Atul were classic - Jai and Veeru of television. I don't think anyone can match up to them, or display the kind of chemistry they brought forth on screen. Classic!
I agree with your post though, the 'dosti' factor is lacking in DMG. I don't know what JP and Jiggy are doing in the show, I consider their scenes as extended ads. Sid-Armaan, well, it can never be a real friendship, can it?
I'm hoping to see a nice friendship between Shilpa and Armaan though :)

atul-armaan were the best... there are sooo many scenes that i loved between them but which fight are u talking about?

I love your post and I completely agree! I really miss the "Dosti" that was in DMG 1. Whether it was TACOS, the intern girls, or the seniors with the interns... the dosti the old gang had always made me smile. Not only did they show us jodis like AR, AA, RM, SK but DMG also showed us how they all are TOGETHER. It was like the perfect gang! They laughed together, cried together, had some fights as well...they were ALWAYS there for each other. ❤️ Miss those days! The dosti shown in DMG 1 is unbeatable.. unfortunately it's not there in DMG anymore :-(

It's not possible to compare Season 2's "dosti" to season 1's pure friendship ❤️

Rida..

Love your topic dear..

And yes I do agree.. the element of dosti and connect is completely gone from DMG2.

Original DMG all the characters were special.. they all brought DMG together..each one of them. Even off screen we saw them bonding.

DMG2 it just don't feel like there is a bonding at all between the characters or even the actors.

As much as I love Armaan.. I just don't feel the same strong attachment with him too anymore! It will never be the same .. as much as the CV's try!

The friendship in DMG 1 was really good, b/c we had a really good intern gang. More than anything the KaSh times really showed a good bonding between them. Ever since Shilpa left actually, they focussed the shift towards AR but still the characters had made a special place in the audience's hearts and were always loved.
With the new season, none of the interns clicked, hence we barely got to see any friendship. The one freindship that I did wish to see more was not really explored and that was Sid and Naina. Nonetheless none of the new interns clicked, except for Sid i guess as he's the last man remaining. JP is still there but he's more a of a buffoon and a filler.
However, there is this weird bond between Sid and Armaan. It's not like any of the friendships we have seen thus far. I mean at first Armaan counted him as an equal and a friend then the truth came out, and it was replaced by anger and then finally some compassion. Later with Riddhima's confession that she wants to be with Sid, Armaan became this big brother or this guru to Sid. Even now all the sequences show Sid as this younger, slightly immature brother/friend of Armaan. But yes the Riddhima factor is still between them as well as the fact that both are not on an equal professional status, which makes their relationship very different from the other ones.

I do have a grouse with your post. You talked about friendship in DMG, and yet you only showed one pic from KaSh times (which was the first and original DMG, and the one that stayed most true to "dosti"). Heck you didn't even put a Shilpa as Riddhima pic up. Everyone has their choices but to me that was the true "dosti" days.

Excellent post...totally agree with you! If DMG 2 didn't have the same title then you'd think they were two completely different shows made by different people! IMO the storyline of DMG2 is an insult to the original fans of the show...therefore it sure as hell isn't watched in my house 😉

Let's get the end part you mentioned out of the way. The pictures have nothing to do with the content I am talking about. The minute you bought Shilpa in, is when you made a distinction in the "Dosti". Atleast according to me, there was no "best dosti". It was a continuation of "dosti" for this awesome gang over three years. Heck, it's unfortunate enough that us AR fans have to fight over three actresses and whose phase was the best. Can we not murder the friendship by bringing in actors?

And I disagree about KaSh times having the best bonding. It was actually during the KaSu times that most of the connections and relationships were shown. Again, just my point of view.

I loved what you stated about Sid and Armaan's friendship. It truly has gone many phases and has churned out be quite a different equation. Although, I don't think either Sid or Armaan fans can ever be comfortable enough for them to be great friends.
