Identity needs to be innate...a lover and a wife are simply roles portrayed in our society...an identity is who you truly are without any strings attached.

sorry..dont agree...lover is also an identity n so is a wife - coz wen u r a lover - u behave in a certain way n wen u become a wife - a lot of ur behavior undergoes a change...

Hmm Identity, it's a gray area for us to argue about, this term associate different meaning to different people!

For me a wife, a lover, a sister, a daughter etc is mere roles we play and NOT our identity! A person's Identity is innate without the above strings and roles attached.

Coming to Riddhima's case yes the marriage changed her status from being a daughter to a wife and added few more roles in her life nothing else. However when she was in a relationship with Armaan (both when they were 'friends' and later lovers), we saw the real Riddhima the feisty go-getter Ridz who was not afraid to speak her mind and do what she felt was right but when she was separated from Armaan due to circumstance and Armaan one-sided decision she transformed herself to the role of a dutiful daughter and now a wife! She now dose what she is expected to do, I won't go into that.

She can only be her true self around Armaan (I am saying this without being bias)!
