What is the difference between Rocky & Bhatia+I feel bad for Smile

Hey guys!

Been a while and the story has moved to the point where Rocky is a 'badla aadmi', I mean...a changed man. 😉 He is realising the wrongs he has committed and even thinks he was wrong to torture Happy. Amazing how it took your brother dying to make you realise it, but well, Gul ke gul ke saamne Rocky ke gul kuch nahi. 😆

Anyway, Happy has finally decided that she will stay back in Amritsar and help Rocky with fulfilling Chintu's dream. Honestly, I understand she feels indebted to Chintu and wants to do right by him, however, I can't help but feel sorry for Smiley, who has become collateral damage. Smiley was talking about how moving to Chandigarh would pave the way for great opportunities. Seems like she won't get to experience them.

Why do I get a strange feeling that Rocky will misunderstand Happy claiming her share of the property as her trying to cash in on Chintu's inheritance? Hope I am wrong because I am not at all interested in seeing Happy work tirelessly for Chintu's dreams while Rocky,Biji and Mummyji(IDK her name) berate her. 🥱

Also, my question to Rocky is- how is he different to Bhatia? I mean, Rocky hates him now because the people Bhatia is harassing are his flesh and blood, but did he switch off the engines of his brain when he collaborated with Bhatia to defame Happy? 🤔

As they say, the day you raise snakes in your backyard to scare your neighbours is an invitation for the day when the snakes turn on you.

I do like Happy-Rocky scenes where she lectures him though, 'cause he is usually quiet when she does that. 😆

A very well written post!

The truth is that nothing hits harder a person than a death in the family and seeing his old parents sick and helpless... it makes you grow up instantly... and Rocky had both at the same time and if these can't make someone wake up to reality, then nothing will! But, I sense he is going to do something stupid soon because he is under pressure to obtain money to cure his father.

I suppose the difference between Rocky and Bhatia is the fact that Rocky has a family to constantly remind him when he is wrong (if we are excluding his grandmother), and he does care what his family thinks of him, especially his father.

Bhatia, on the other side, it's on his own, certain of himself and opinions of others are of very slight importance to him.

Rocky vs Bhatia- I get your point. It seems the point is that Bhatia is irredeemable 'cause he understands what he does is wrong but does not care.

Regarding Rocky, do you think he deserves a chance at redemption? He really did wreck Happy's life (though he is somewhat sorry about it). Also, I noticed that he is not really forthcoming about Happy being helpful to his Biji and mom- like when Bhatia tried to set the Khosla home on fire, Biji and his mom only got to know about it through Kulwant. He has also not told them about how Happy showed him Chintu's video before getting him out of jail.

Wow! You asked me a very difficult and sensitive question: does Rocky deserve redemption?

I think the question is the same with: who deserve redemption and who doesn't?

Well, my answer is a really simple one: The one who really wants to redeem himself! The one who feels shame for his deeds, who accepts punishments without any objection for his wrongs, who tries to make things right as much as he can (because once a damage done is very difficult to correct it). The one who constantly repents himself, humbles himself and tries to earn the forgiveness of those he hurt.

Coming back to Rocky and Bhatia, I trust that is not a question of who is redeemable and who is not, but a question of who wants redemption.

And Bhatia doesn't want it, he doesn't care whom he hurts, he feels no remorse, no shame, he is a vain and double faced person.

At least with Rocky we see a struggle, a conflict within to be a better version of himself, a self-consciousness of the wrongs he did... he is on the right way. And I like it this... that they don't rush it because it seems more real, more relatable.

Even tonight, when he didn't believe Happy about her good intentions to keep her share of Chintu's properties it was good because when her own sister can't understand her intentions than how can a stranger like Rocky understand her. I too don't understand her: how can she put Chintu' s dream above her sister's? But I just go with the flow and whatever writers bring as justification.
