Nothing exciting so far

A mother-in-law who is like a mother to a daughter-in-law, a new take on a saas-bahu relationship is what Dil Se Diya Vachan promises to be.

Nandini is an orphan who lives with her married sister. Prem, the son of a gynaecologist mother, falls in love with Nandini. Everything seems good till Nandini's sister's mother-in-law (a grouchy one) throws up a fit saying the rishta was for her daughter, Sumati. Interestingly, Prem's parents also approve of Nandini. They are willing to have her as their daughter-in-law but for the old woman who throws temper tantrums to avoid the marriage. Luckily, her son has given his word to Prem's parents that he will let Nandini marry their son.

Whether the show is indeed a positive take on saas-bahu equation is something we will know only in the episodes to come. So far, the proceedings have been mildly engaging. Jayshree T's wicked old woman act is straight out of a 80's Marathi film! Neena Gupta as the career woman and Prem's mother is restrained to the point of being indifferent. Ayub Khan as Nandini's doting brother-in-law is cool and composed, Gaurav Khanna as the goofy Prem doesn't do anything we haven't seen before in his earlier show as a lover-boy on Colors. Vandana Joshi, though very pretty, is still very raw and often gets her expressions wrong. We guess, Dance India Dance girls are just not cut out for acting (another case in point being Binny Sharma in Sanjog Se Bani Sangini).

Ooops!! this is a very scathing review! Agree the pace is very slow and the prewedding drama is being simply prolonged for no valid reasons...........but wait for a bit more before passing comments! Vandana hasn't had a chance to show her talent yet......and Neena and Jayashree are doing great! So far, my favorite is Neena Gupta who seems to have got into the skin of the character! Also agree Gaurav at the moment is acting goofy like a lover, but when the story develops, there will be a change.....

This is too soon to pass such a strongly worded review............though I wish the pace would pick up and the wedding takes place soon so that we get down to the actual story!

Agree we need to give Vandana a chance also agree so far she is not completely upto mark, but then she didn't get too much scope either.
And as for Binni, I feel she is doing awsome job. I am pretty impressed, her character had lots of variations and currently she is at her best. I was pretty skeptical on her in DID. All I can say that she is better actor than dancer that is alot since she is not bad dancer.
Neena Gupta's character is best and most real, like the frustration on her face when her MIL is demands get OTT, she is natural. I feel next week it will be back on track, this week was bit of a drag.
