Can't imagine him in a negative role. I will be genuinely surprised if he chooses to do anything along the line. As far as Mamta it was short and not that popular.

if HC does a negative role...people who were ONCE his fans will come back and go gaga over him (loyalty for previous celeb or present one gayi tel lene😆 just like bin pendhe ki lota🤣 kabhi idhar tho kabhi udhar ludakna🤣...)...people are always flippant...😡
if he doesnt then he will be criticised for being repetetive...
so to take a middle path he should do what he is comfortable in...people are bound to chew him no matter what

so fans are not the one to decide what he can do...

those who respect him no matter what will like to see him onscreen😃 in any avtaar

the pretext of opinion is misused a lot in this forum 🤢

Fact is none of HC's roles have been repeat ... he has always chosen great roles and rocked them ... he can never satisfy the entire tv audience ever and there are some who don't want to be satisfied either no matter what he does so why bother? We know HC has done full justice to all his roles that his roles have been interesting and intriguing and we his fans enjoyed each one of them ... why does it even matter to us then what few people have to say? Those that love his work will always appreciate it, those that don't will always find faults and excuses so why argue?

And i am sure if hc ever plays a negative character he would make sure people hate it nothing less would satisfy him as an actor and i am not sure i want to do that 😆

Actually, I disagree, Nads. I'm sure that if HC ever did a negative character, he would be able to give the character a vulnerability that would make it hard for viewers to hate him. They'd be in a dilemma, conflicted. Even now whenever Raghav points a gun at another person, you see vulnerability in his eyes. It doesn't make it right. But it doesn't make you hate him for it either.

To bring that kind of intense vulnerability to a character isn't easy. HC has proven that he can do it and, if given a negative character, make viewers conflicted about him.

I want to make a comparison here to an actor named David Boreanaz who did the role of Angel on his show of the same name. He played a character that didn't have a soul, who plundered the world and destroyed people -- then he was given a soul and a conscience because gypsies cursed him, and the moment his soul returned to him, he began to feel remorse for what he had done.

Now while he was Angelus [the demon], people hated him. No doubt. But as soon as he became Angel [the demon with a soul] and started to amend for his deeds, dedicating his entire life to helping the helpless, people started loving him. Now, it wasn't the character alone -- it was more the actor's ability to switch from cruel to utterly vulnerable [plus, of course, the fact that Angel hadn't been born black, but white]. DB did it with his eyes.

HC has the same ability. To convey vulnerability with his eyes while his voice is hard. He can give that twist to his character so that one wonders about his heart.

However, if the character is supposed to be black and hated to the core -- no vulnerability -- then I'm sure that he'd succeed at that too. But black characters are rare and made for one reason only -- to remain villains. Negative characters can be black at times but have a conscience and feel remorse at all times. They usually used to be white, but then slowly turned grey, and eventually black -- supposedly the good heart of theirs still exists, but they've been led astray because of experiences in life.

However, black characters -- well, they're black from the start and incapable of feeling remorse because they have no conscience, i.e. psychopaths/serial killers, etc. HC, I feel, might not choose to do such a character -- mainly because it's a dangerous game to play. E.g. Dexter who is a serial killer has inspired many young men to kill. There was one such case where a brother killed his younger brother and when asked why, his answer was "Because I could relate to Dexter".

If HC ever does a negative role(though i doubt it because of his very own interview) do u think who watch his work wid out being his fan cannot like him ? 😕 practically even i did watch his previous shows and taking desh as example, i started watching that only because of the female lead of the show and was never fan of harshad but still i liked their chemistry and appreciated his work does that mean i have to like all his roles or as i am not his fan i couldn't enjoy any of his roles? either ways this scenario doesn't exist ...if praising harshad all the time is fan according to you then nothing can be said 🥱 one can't stop anyone from talking abt him there are ppl who like him for everything no matter what ...there are ppl who criticise his work irrespective of fan thing ...there are ppl who just watch him as character related to the show so there will be different opinions of ppl and yes they might be honest aswell ...

I didn't say he can't do it just that I can't imagine him in one. There is a lot of difference between both. Yeah it might be difficult for you to handle others opinion that's why you are getting personal. There are people who watch a show just as an audience they need not be a fan of any to make a comment.

What Loyalty are you going on about?

So what about the serial killers or killers who've killed trying to emulate Vampires?

And Dexter the character does have his own form of conscience. It's not right but it's no less a dangerous game to play than Vampires. Some people relate to Vampires and commit crimes too.

From the little I've seen, HC did a negative role quite well in Mamta. More so than seen, I've heard from others who'd watched. (And that negative character turned into positive later on. 😆)

However that was in the beginning of his career, and he himself in an interview mentioned something about how it was his first role he was hungry for the opportunity or such.

That's the not the same HC today. HC as the star, while he gives it his all, is much more reserved than HC the young up-and-comer who had his first role.

So when people say they can't imagine HC doing a certain role, understand that he himself has talked about certain criteria. Unless that changes, there are certain types of roles some that would be surprised to see him pick up.
