Please refrain from bashing/provoking. Thank you.---------
Tonight's episode continued to rock. Without further procrastination, I present the...
Pros:
1) Raghav-Gayatri showdown PART II
First of all, Raghav's dialogues and Gayatri's dialogues were gut-wrenchingly powerful to me. The tension simmering between them, the entire atmosphere breeding from it -- just made me clench my teeth in anticipation and agitation, bracing for some kind of blow.
The blow came, several times. Raghav understood so well that Gayatri's stubborn anger toward him was what really kept her from making the right decision and kicking V out. He tried to appeal to the rational part of her, saying things that I've been saying for so long...
If one man is in pain, it doesn't give him the right to inflict pain on everyone else.
Beautiful line conveyed by Raghav and it drove home his point. Gayatri listened. His words festered in her mind, because we saw later on -- when she was alone -- that she thought about what he'd said and tried to link it with the goons beating up V. She's not stupid. Oh, yes, she's emotionally pent-up right now, but not stupid. Once she allows herself to think rather than focus on Raghav as her loser son, she can see that he's right.
However, Raghav made one mistake. Just as he was about to break through to her, he added one phrase that knocked all sense out of her again, making her furious. He went on to say that as long as he was in the house, V wasn't staying. Whereas he should've given her a moment to think and make the decision herself, or phrased it in another way so that it didn't seem as if he was making the decision for her -- even though he was. It provoked her and she pushed aside all reason to strike at him again for his mistakes.
During this entire scene, I wanted to kill V and Sia.
V -- because, well, he just invokes the I-hate-you-so-much-you-creep emotion in me.
Sia -- because she just stood there like a dress-up doll with a blank expression, not even thinking to support Raghav's theories on the man she knows is capable of anything.
2) Viraj's manipulative ways
This is a pro, because for days I've actually believed that he had memory loss. But it was obvious, more than before, in tonight's episode that he doesn't have a memory loss. He's manipulating everyone, driving them apart, slithering his way into their minds and hearts.
I was so pissed when he said: "Why should anyone trust me? Kaun lagta hoon main iss family ka?" Saala, iski itni himmat. I wanted to hurt him for adding another brick to the big Chinese Wall between Gayatri and her son.
I was pleasantly surprised when Komal asked him to leave. Because having him there in the middle of a family drama was kind of wrong. She should've asked Sia to leave too. I couldn't stand her watching the war unfold in silence, knowing what she knows.
I have to compliment KVB for his performance in the scene in his room. The one between him and Jahnvi. Did anyone notice how perfectly V twisted things around? Blaming Jahnvi for not having supported him but Raghav when Raghav kicked him out, manipulating her into believing that she'd done wrong and should be ashamed.
The nerve of this creep. I wanted to smack him. But I wanted to smack Jahnvi harder for looking like she believed it. [The latter belongs in the "cons" section.]
Cannot stand V.
3) Raghav's emotional scene in his room
I swear. There's only one adult that I sympathize with wholeheartedly now and that's just Raghav. Gosh. The most frustrating thing is when you know what a pure-hearted person he is, how much he wants to protect the people he loves, how hard he always tried, how much he sacrifices and gives -- expecting nothing in return -- and yet people rip him. He already blames himself, hates himself enough. He doesn't need other people ripping him.
The way he turned on his side, trying to shut off the emotions. His expression when those emotions overpowered him, broke him. Then his childish rant about how he was leaving - only to change his mind a second later as he realized that he couldn't leave anyway. The whole scene was heartbreaking.
Mindblowing performance by Harshad who managed to convey a controlled vulnerability, crying like a child, holding back like a man. Balancing these two flawlessly. When you're looking at his character -- from his entry and up until now -- you see just how beautifully the CVs have developed him from a disconnected person to one who connects so easily now. Maybe connects too much as he ends up hurt over and over again.
I loved this scene. You could just feel how lonely he was. How broken. And what kind of powerful hold his mother has over him.
4) Komal and V and the hand-hold
Interesting to see how Komal's uncomfortable when he touches her, but at the same time she sympathizes with him. I thought that she seemed confused. She might be his easiest prey.
Couldn't stand V's drama in this scene. I hate him so much -- it's like a physical ache now.
5) Gayatri's musing
I am so grateful that the CVs showed her as not ignorant. Raghav's words festered in her mind and almost reached the right conclusion -- of kicking V out -- when, of course, Devil himself appeared to mess with her conscience again.
6) Raghav-Viraj-Jahnvi
Another interesting scene. Did anyone notice how swiftly Harshad shifted from seeming a lost boy to a tall, strong man prepared to protect and serve? Guy's got talent.
V manipulating Jahnvi again -- this time to drive up a wall between her and Raghav. Oh... goodie. V works so hard. Someone should hand him an award for being the Biggest Beep in the universe.
*sobs*
I can't stand him. I know that I keep saying it, but his persona grates on my nerves.
7) CT scanning reveals the truth
Oh, at last some logic in this whole ML track. Medical science prevails over suspense for once. Now, let's see how V slithers his way out of this one. Knowing him well, I'm certain he'll manage.
8) Raghav pours his heart out again
I loved Raghav's dialogues in the scene between him and Sia. Beautiful. Heartbreakingly so. The best part was when he said: "Chahta nahi hoon. Ho jata hai." And left.
I was pleasantly surprised that Sia attempted to comfort him. That was refreshing.
Cons:
1) Sia's confused state of mind
Okay, I get it. She's confused. She doesn't know what to do. Maybe because she, herself, doesn't understand the strange addiction that constantly draws her to V. I understand it. I don't condemn her for it.
But I can't sympathize with her, either. When she was unable to sleep, thinking about her past -- I thought: "You've forgotten the pain." It's like she knows that he hurt her, damaged her. She knows that it hurt a lot. But she doesn't actually remember the pain. It's like she's only recalling the fear and actions -- not the pain.
I know that she's confused. I suppose that's the point. If they transformed her into a fierce lioness over a night, stable and all, then they'd be halfway through the show. Maybe they are dragging her character in order to keep the transformation at bay for a while yet. But I just need her to stop making stupid decisions such as not telling anyone about V.
If anything happens to Krish because of her... ugh.
If Raghav loses anything because of her... double ugh and a smack.
2) No support from Sia
During the showdown, she remained silent. Not supporting Raghav against V. I have no other comments to this. Disappointed.
Well, that's it for tonight. The precap left us all shaken and chilled to the bone, I guess. All I know is that I'm on Raghav's side. I'd rather want V to take Sia away than watch him go Killer Mode on Raghav's family. Unless Sia actually tries to do the right thing from now on. Then I might warm up to her again.
Kher. Watch the episode. It rocked.
